Transfer News and Rumors - Summer 2024

Chalov was allegedly a done deal like five days ago, but now the sites are copying-pasting an update today about how they're still trying to convince him to come, and Savvidis just met with him, etc etc etc. My guess is that this is not as sure a thing as we were led to believe.

-edit- one more update: Tissoudali, which was also a "done deal" is now expected some time in the PM on Sunday.

Also, Quagliata was "announced" by his new team, but I haven't seen any announcements by PAOK. Not that I'm upset.

Tissoudali has arrived at SKG. Was on youtube and saw that PAOK Today had started up a livestream. These people are too much. I love watching video at 144p resolution!

They're saying Tissoudali has passed his physical, but the announcement probably won't be made until Sunday. Not sure if that means he trained today.

Several sites (who are probably copying and pasting from each other) are saying Razvan Marin is back in play, with us having given an offer of 3.5mm to Cagliari, and 1.2mm per year (+ 500k signing bonus) for the player. I would LOVE this move; as I said to our coach friend earlier, his highlights remind me of a cross between Misic and Cimirot.

This one, meanwhile, has come completely out of the blue:

He plays as an attacking midfielder, and is currently a free agent. I'm guessing he would be relatively cheap; my suspicion is that we'll also be selling Konstantelias by December (if not August), so perhaps the team is considering the luxury of having a kid ride the bench/vie for backup privileges with Murg?

Chalov is apparently done deal negotiated by Ivan Savvidis himself. Surprised though that he did not travel with Ivan in his private jet to Thessaloniki on Friday. Chalov will probably just come during the week and sign a contract with Savvidis at his Halkidiki resort.

Strange timeline. Savvidis has been at his resort for a few days now, right? He must have negotiated this a while back, if so.

After flying to Konstantinoupoli, Chalov arrived in Thessaloniki via car! Apparently at his own request for some reason but a quick google gives the driving time as over 6 hours. Maybe he just likes road trips 🤷‍♂️

Anyway here he is hanging out with Shoretire and Tissoudali, except him to do the medical and sign the contract when the sun rises in Greece in the next few hours.

I think some sites said it was because he brought a lot of stuff, as well as a dog. As if he wasn't making enough money to charter his own plane.

Just saying, your competitors are light years ahead of you with their livestreams, bud. This is RIVETING television

The Chalov announcement gives us a little taste of our other kits - looks like an all-white and a Partizan-style one?

-edit- actually it's def a Partizan jersey, weird. Reinforced by the sticker he slaps onto the seat at the end. DID WE JUST BUY THE GROBARI?

Some articles over the last week about us being interested in free agent Anton Miranchuk (brother of the more famous one, who plays in Atlanta or something). I doubt this, considering we moved on the Bri'ish kid.

The Samatta rumors are picking up again. Some were saying the Al Khalood interest was originally for a loan, but now may be a purchase. I wouldn't be shocked if the team is willing to give him away for free just to free up cash for salaries. But hopefully they're willing to pay something.

-edit- for what it's worth, Andre Ricardo is now officially listed as PAOK B player on Transfermarkt. Not sure if they're plugged into some official system or if an admin is there playing god.
