Transfer News and Rumors - Summer 2024

Allegedly. Just like Meite, he'll probably still try to string us along.

Team needs to move on a good player, now. If we're willing to drop two million (salary) on someone, then there should be dozens of appropriate players we can now target.

This is like the 8th or 9th transfer period where we have gone in with high hopes and half way through not signed anyone

I remember we started talking about trasnfers from May...again.

Tsaousis may have some interest from Portugal, as well as possibly teams in Greece. There isn't really room for him in the squad now, which is a shame because I recall thinking he was looking pretty good before we loaned him last year.

Ozdoyev shows up every few days with a new possible suitor that is rebuffed immediately. Take that as you will: https://inpaok.com/828117/senaria-kai-diapsefsi-gia-ozntoef/

This one is probably for someone to join our B teamhttps://inpaok.com/828115/pairnei-talento-apo-kypro-o-paok/

Pafos' K19s are remarkably international, so that doesn't really narrow things down:

And of course, the Kotarski saga continues:

Braithwaite is signing with Olympiakos.

Portuguese media report that Meite has turned down PAOK's offers and will go to Saudi Arabia.

I'm very happy with both bits of news. Let Olympiakos spend their money, let us get someone who's better than Meite.

Remember last season when the consensus was that Meite was good by Super League standards? And that he'd be caught out when playing against good European competition? THIS is why I don't care that we didn't re-sign him. If we want to take a step up, we need a BETTER option there.

I don't think I even bothered to post about it a few weeks ago since public statements were made that we weren't interested, but now the rumors are picking up again that we're making a move for Fedor Chalov of CSKA: https://www.transfermarkt.us/fedor-chalov/profil/spieler/287183

In fact, InPAOK says we're moving on two strikers at the same time, in order to fill both slots with Samatta's soon-to-come move.

I know basically nothing about Chalov but he is a fantastic age has scores a lot of goals. His buy-out clause, according to sport24, is only three million. I don't know how that works with the sanctions against Russia, but this feels like a no-brainer.

Here is a highlights reel that seems to be mostly poached goals:

I don't have a problem with that. Every little bit we can extract from that team, will help us.

Genoa ended the season in 8th, it looks like? They will have no use for him until late summer anyway. Really, my only concern here is that Kotarski will actively play worse just to hasten the departure.

Btw I am not sure I buy the Chalov stories, but still no word either way. I am wondering if one of our two new strikers will be a loan, though.

-edit- actually I guess Genoa ended the season in 11th place. Point still stands, though. Also, entirely possible that if we somehow keep him through all the qualifiers, that the team will be able to tempt him with a bigger contract in addition to the Champions League participation.

Ivan seems no to be an investor rather a technokrat!

Can you translate this into English or Greek please. I'll settle for pontiaka tbh

PAOK Today, everyone's favorite podcast that actually updates, saying on twitter that striker Tarik Tissoudali is on our list. You all may remember him from earlier rumors. I am now thinking that they're literally just rehashing old rumors because they have no idea who the team is actually going for.

Anyway, on the off chance that there's something to this - here's his profile and a vid:

Looks like Chalov may be a done deal. Expected in Greece around the 24th.

Tissoudali also plays left wing, btw, so this may be the guy that can both rotate with Taison and give us more options up front (perhaps we'll start seeing more 4-4-2s?)...

Tarik even after an ACL injury would be a great addition.

Not sure about the russian, russians dont seem to do well abroad...

Kotarski looks to be sold, who will replace him?

Razvan Marin has signed a new contract with Cagliari, so I guess that one's off the table. All the more reason to sign Misic NOW

Apparently PAOK has received two different offers from Uruguay for the purchase of Quagliata. Hopefully they won't think twice about it at PAE PAOK.

If he can't even make the list for this game, then I can't imagine we'll try to reclaim him. I would agree.

The "False 9 Show" on youtube just dropped a prediction that Lucescu will try to keep Samatta.

However.... : https://inpaok.com/828607/vrike-ton-anti-tisountali-i-gandi/

Last I read, they were asking for about 4mm for him, while we were trying to get him for 3. Stay tuned!

Seeing that instead of a sale, we may be loaning Quagliata to Central Cordoba in Argentina, with a purchase option. Let's just say that judging by what I see of that team, we will definitely not be cracking a seven-figure deal here. Unless it's denominated in Argentine Pesos.

Predictions that we might hear something about Tissoudali by EOD today...

Player has also started following the club on instagram 😉

We have reached a deal with Tarik Tissudali and KAA Gent. He is expected in Thessaloniki to undergo a physical and sign a 2+1 year deal with a 1.4 mil salary per season. We also paid 2.2 mil to KAA Gent for his rights.

Apparently it was his countryman El Kaddouri that convinced him to come to PAOK after he talked to the PAOK ex-player.

Only 2.2 million?? Wow, that's even less than I thought. Good job by (presumably) Maria G.

Saw some sites now saying that Chalov might be around the 25th, which is code for "in three weeks."
