Good luck to him, I hope he absolutely crushes it there. I have a feeling Otto will be gone after this season; let's see if he can pick it up from there.

And now for MY exciting news!

Wanted to mention this too. And he is not loaned but sold. No fee mentioned though. Might even be a free transfer just to get rid of him.

At this point, a free transfer is about all I could expect out of him. Saving a few euros on his salary makes it worth it all on its own.

Chatzidiakos is off to Copenhagen so that leaves us with only four CBs (if you count Thymianis). Personally, I want to see a youth player there, but I'm sure that won't happen. Eight days to go!

Last week Thymnias was to replace Tssigarras now hes a centre back?

Ivan is pumping again pocketing cash lol.

We have 3 centre backs only, this is one wild summer

He has played as CB in most of his career appearances. Lucescu saying he can "also play as a midfielder" also tells you where he sees him.

Paoksyd, you are one weird guy. What money is being pocketed? This summer's salaries are probably gonna bankrupt us, chief

Further to that, we went hard for Chatzidiakos who unfortunately for us, has chosen to go to Copenhagen. So it is clear we are not done with transfers and we are looking to add another center back.

The fair criticism IMO is that we once again leave plenty of business until the last minute. This year was actually better than other seasons, Tissoudali, Chalov and of course Camara were all done pretty quick and have been with the team for over a month (Camara since the start of pre-season).

Obviously the issue there is when we have to start playing European qualifiers so early, even players arriving in late July are behind the 8-ball. I don't doubt it is tough for the club to negotiate with players so early in the transfer window, but regardless after dealing with it for so many years you would think they would have found a way to navigate those situations.

We will sign one more center back and I think that maybe it. Some reports say we still need a central midfielder but when you consider we have 4 players(Schwab, Camara, Ozdoev and Bakayoko) battling it out for 2 positions, if we don't add another CM we are fine, at least numerically in that position.

AND of course they may very well end up playing Thymianis as a center mid, giving us another option. Even though as pash points out he played most of last season as a CB.

Ivan sells for 16m euros and spends 7m euros...

He now gets 4 home games in europe not 3...

Hes cut back all back office spending...

Closed coty boutique and leased it out...

Hes making money from PAOK call me weird call me whatever you want.

But we had a chance to go to Champions league and burned it again...

Last year we had the smallest budget of the big 4

Same again this year.

Yeah! Take him down!!!! Worst owner in team history; he stopped us from having an eventual merger with Makadonikos

I still think we will - Greece's transfer window is open for eight more days. Cyprus is open for six more.

Omonia wants him but they are only willing to pay him 500K. At PAOK he gets 1 mil. I am sure that by the end of the transfer periods (in Greece and Cyprus) they will come out with some kind of formula to satisfy both teams. Ff not, send him to the 'B' team.

I am more worried about the CB situation. If we don't find somebody by tomorrow, we will need to got to EL with only 3 CB's plus Thymianis. That sounds like a disaster in the making.

I want to go into the season with the same lineup advertisements for the world cup use - 10 strikers and a goalie LET'S GOOOOOO

-edit- unrelated to that, looks like we signed a new kid today - I'm not sure if he'll actually be in our youth team like this site says, vs in PAOK B.

Incidentally, I spent a few weeks in and around Paphos about ten years ago. Ridiculous accents, would not recommend.

Rumors are that we are trying to sign a CB by tomorrow's deadline.

The player we are apparently after is Oumar Solet from Salzburg. Let's hope they are still not pissed off that we did not sell them Konstantelias.

They might be happy just to get rid of his contract.

Incidentally, I saw some hypothesizing online a while back that Salzburg didn't actually make an offer for Koulierakis. Essentially, the theory was that virtually no leaks occurred in Austria about the player, implying that their interest was made up by Greek press. Not sure I buy this, but might mean we're still on good terms with the team 😉

-edit- another unlikely one:

Doubt he'd want to play in Greece, frankly.

As long as we keep winning trophies, we can stay at Toumba forever as I am concerned. A new stadium would be nice, but you love to focus on what Savvidis hasn't done instead of looking at what he has done.

Talk to me about the fact that in his 12 years at the club, we have won the same number of trophies in that time compared to our previous 86 years of existence. 6 trophies in 12 years compared to 6 in 86 years. Not to mention doubling our League title tally, which have always been notoriously difficult to win in Greece.

There is a small minority of fans who will never be happy, no matter the success of the club. The fact is PAOK has had it's most successful era with Savvidis at the helm. Has he been perfect? Of course not, but no owner in world football is.

I know I just wasted my time typing all that, but it is always worth reflecting on what he has helped the club achieve. I feel many of us (myself included) lose sight of how far off it the club was before Ivan came onto the scene.
