Dean97 Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 I think we will see Pelkas more involved in the starting 11. Other than that I agree with you 100%.
Ellada2004 Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Skibbe got it all wrong vs Croatia after FIFA screwed us by suspending Manolas, he went with Maniatis at the back were he was completely out of position and was exposed by Perisic on one goal. He also started Tziolis again who is way to slow to match up with the Croatian midfield. Skibbe continues with Tziolis and makes him captain in the last friendly vs Saudis, why? Skibbe must go if he starts off Nations league with poor results and with the same player selections.
Antaeus7 Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Does anybody know why Greece - Iran match was cancelled?

Also EPO told Iran to play in Athens but they turned it down. There is also more to this... http://www.agonasport.com/agonasport-allnews/iran-furious-after-greece-friendly-called-off
georgelaz Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 for once can the turks not be hostile? apparently not.
Ellada2004 Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Iranians apparently didn’t want to come play in Athens after Constantinople wasn’t an option. Why even schedule match with these crazy muslims..
Alphonse Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Why, when everyone is playing friendlies right now did we only schedule the one game in Turkey on top of that?? This is why Grammenos as president of EPO is just useless dunno how he’s still in that role. We have to be one of the few countries (ironically with Cyprus) who don’t have any other friendlies for the rest of the year...
Ellada2004 Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Most countries are playing two friendlies in this international window. The EPO schedules two friendlies in a year. 1
J1078 Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 If the Iranians are to offended to play in Athens because of our billboards that show alcohol and anything else that might offend their idiotic believes then i say F..k them go arrange a match with another Muslim country... The Epo is absoloutley sleeping when it comes to scheduling matches.. We desperately need more practise time to figure some s%$#! out. We should have had a couple more friendlies this month as our last two were wasted by the German bench boss. 2
Ellada2004 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Why do we never schedule friendlies with Italy? Or other neighbouring countries, the only one I remember is when we played Serbia a few years back. 1
Alphonse Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 We’re coached by a muppet and the head of the Greek federation is a thitso that belongs in the horio... go figure 1
Brklyngrk Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 I believe we did play Greece and Spain in friendlies in Greece a few years back and no one showed up. We played the Netherlands last year. So we have played them but we haven't build on them and in Greece, attendance is terrible... 1
Ellada2004 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 We should be playing Serbia or Russia more often. Italy and France seem to have many friendly matches. EPO should not be scheduling matches with Iran or Saudis. 1
jason Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Exactly teams that will give this team a test and show where our weakness are.... mind you most teams give us a hard time nowadays..
georgelaz Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 we did serbia recently. I remember the Kone/Matic incident.
Blackhawk Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 If the player's mind is on vacation in Santorini or Mykonos it makes no difference who we play. Even the last three scheduled friendlies were against teams that are better than us. They were all teams that made the World Cup and we didn't. Nations Cup's purpose is to replace the friendly games anyway. We'll probably play one more low level friendly game before that stupid tournament starts.

Greece right now need all the help they can get so if the nations league gives us another shot I'm all for it, chances are we will be the 3rd best team in our group for the euro qualifiers so we need this nations league plus it makes the games more meaningful then friendlies... 1
Jimmyp Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Big teams won’t agree to a friendly against Greece. There is no money in it for them.
georgelaz Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 2 hours ago, Jimmyp said: Big teams won’t agree to a friendly against Greece. There is no money in it for them. only exception I see is Australia.
Alphonse Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 And there is money involved with Costa Rica? Or Bolivia? Or Armenia? Big picture guys, not cliche
Jimmyp Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Those teams actually have good attendances at home. And it’s probably a lot safer to go watch a game there with your family. There’s a lot of morons in Greece that ruin it for people who actually love the game.
Blackhawk Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 Big countries want to get paid to play games. EPO can't afford to pay big money to play countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Germany, etc. And with the invention of the Nations Cup UEFA wants to eliminate friendly games anyway. Our focus should be to get a decent coach and start re-building the NT with young players and eliminate all the agents controlling the national team for their benefit. 1
Alphonse Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Correct, we need a new coach ASAP, sadly that will only come with the failure to get first place in the below group Group C2: Hungary, Greece, Finland, Estonia 1
