Zeca our best player tonight. Really lucky to get the point though in a game where we did not create anything. Take this as a gift for the country's anniversary.5 points

JVS needs to change something. We can't just sit back like this, we need to try to score. I would take Limnios/Bakasetas/Bakakis/Mantalos out, put in Tziolis/Fortounis/Androutsis/Giakoumakis. Only positive is that the score should only be 1-0. They havn't had many opportunities either..3 points

I wasn’t happy about the starting line up at all, but I will say most of the guys hustled there asses off and once the changes were made we played better, the guys put in a fantastic defensive effort, yes of course we were only going to get one or two chances against Spain that was obvious, but for those saying it was a fluke Penalty maybe it was but the boys put themselves in the right position to get that call. Some of you clowns have to really man up and just give the team credit when they pull off a stunning result rather than looking at who we play next and automatically assuming we’re going to drop points. I swear some of your clowns are absolutely happy when the Team loses so you can come on here and bitch. Like if anyone can’t be happy about this result then you really are not a fan of the NT and I don’t know why you waste your time on these forums. The guys backed each other up when Spain would beat one of our players they were immediately faced with another blue jersey in there face. Even Bakakis played well, Siopis is like a little bulldog out there really hustles, Tzolis showed he’s worth a starting spot, Bakasetas had a bad game but at least he capitalized on the penalty. There were a few guys that didn’t do so great but the rest of the guys were there to pick them up and I think it was a fantastic team effort today.2 points

This team just pulled one of their best results in the last five years and you’re still speaking s%$#! You know we don’t have the quality whoever we put in there to hang with Spain. I was pissed off with the starting lineup as well but you can’t even give the f***ing guys credit for hustling nonstop all game and they didn’t fold after they let the first goal in.. Spain only had about 2 or 3 shots on net..2 points

Siopis had a great game. He should be a definite call up.2 points
-
Yea - they played really well. Kyriakos has a place on the team, really impressed.2 points
-
Sweden won the other group 1-0 over Georgia I think Greece can handle the Swedes, they didn't impress me much.2 points

Tsimikas played great, I think he tired at the end. First full game. Tziolis changed the left side, he is fast and tried to get forward. Bakasetas played terrible, managed to ruin every forward run we had. Limnios hasn't played and it showed. Siopis/Tzavellas/Bakakis - not going to lie, didn't play bad. Kyriakos still has it, made some really nice clearances. Fortounis/Giakoumakis should have started. And our defense played really great, they scored 1 and maybe had 1 or two more real chances. That's it.2 points

Incredible defensive performance. Annoyed with Limnios for killing two promising attacks in the first half. The first one he tried to do too much on his own against Ramos, with the easiest pass to Mantalos running down the middle of the box. Mantalos would've had a clear shot against the keeper. Still super proud of the guys, and hopefully Tzolis gets the start over Limnios moving forward.2 points

Spain 1-1 Greece FT This is like a win! Happy 200th re-birthday Greece!2 points

Quick someone tell Muppet boy we scored! Tell him to turn back on the channel2 points

Take Bakasetas off please he’s horrible with the ball at his feet.2 points
-
Yea Vlachodimos’ distribution is piss poor today. No distance on his clearances2 points
-
He’s obviously going for a draw, which I wouldn’t do. All it takes is one bad mistake especially if spain is Pounding the ball in our half. I’ve defended him so let’s see what happens!2 points
-
I expect an easy win for the Spaniards. The Greek lineup does not give me any confidence at all.2 points

What did you think our gameplan was gonna be? Really, take a minute and think. Did you think we could attack Spain consistently? Do you really think we have world class players who can do that? JVS had a gameplan to absorb pressure and hit them on the counter. We did that in the first half. We had two counter chances that didn’t work but besides their goal and crossbar they didn’t do anything except keep possession. You really don’t think we should be happy about this result? Against one of the best teams in the world , just months after we s%$#! the bed in national league. Please go back to playing Fifa on rookie mode.1 point

Well said I think they are xeni! ? To bad gals we just tied in Spain! Your USA or Canada would have ate 7 goals lol1 point
-
It wasn’t pretty but Greece got a draw in Spain where they usually man handle other teams like they did vs Germany 6 nil in Nations league and last World Cup qualifying they dominated Italy to the tune of 3-0. Now on to Georgia were I’m sure JVS will field a more attacking lineup but man we just got a result in Spain so CHEER up! ELLAS ELLAS!!1 point
-
I agree and if vlacho came out and challenged I don’t think the Spanish player would have had time to control the ball and score. Regardless I’m thrilled with this result and to be honest I was Expecting Spain to put three behind us when I saw the starting line up.1 point
-
Same here - no one was crazy about the line up but results matter. We may not have any real opportunities, but they only had two or three. One was the crossbar (which by the way, was a shot taken from outside the box), the goal they scored, and the one where they couldn't connect. Remember, they beat Germany 6-0.1 point
-
Also I love Siopis. Guys like that should have a place on the NT 100%1 point
-
Really everyone did well! Not only that but we were putting our bodies on the line. Non stop running. Also it wasn’t like they dominated us in front of goal. They had the goal, the shot that hit the crossbar, and like one weak header. Possession means nothing if you don’t score1 point
-
Also gotta say Tzavellas was solid. K Paps big match back in the Ethniki.1 point
-
Greece took only one shot on goal in the match and it was a penalty lol1 point

Unbelievable result for Greece. I didn't like how JVS started the line up but he made the Great adjustments after the first goal was conceded. Bravo boys this draw against a BIG team like Spain is absolutely HUGE for the boys.1 point

Is JVS happy with taking the loss and just trying to keep it close Or is he going to remove Mantalos and Bakasetas for Fortounis and Tziolis and try to pressure and score a goal.1 point

Only time is when they give it right too us1 point

Greece hasn't touched the ball in the last 5 min. This is embarrassing...1 point
-
I think our goal is to tire them out by always kicking the ball around....1 point
-
What did you think, we’d actually be able to keep up offensively? I don’t care if they have 100% possession as long as it’s still 0-0.1 point
-
I think this kind of game suits us maybe. A lot of our recent games have been against teams that we're better than(on paper) or evenly matched with. Now we have an excuse to park the bus and play Ottoball. Downside? We have to play Spain!1 point
-
Even if we draw 0-0, people here would still complain saying we should have played other players who would’ve scored1 point
-
He's going against conventional wisdom. Guess he is trying to limit the damage and hope he can poach a goal with the wingers/back.1 point

Seems like he's putting the best effort he can so they sack him.1 point

Rafael welcome to our forum. I would have to agree with pash concerning Jaba that his career as a competitive football player is over. He came to PAOK as a very promising prospect, and had a very good first season with the team. There were rumors after his first season with PAOK that FC Porto were offering close to 10 million Euro for him (it cost PAOK 4 million to buy him). Not sure if that was true or if that was his manager trying to move him to Portugal. One thing is sure though. He made a trip to Porto and after that he came back he was not the same player. Things got worse after his serious injury in a friendly game. Apparently the knee surgery following his injury did not go well and he struggled with several infections as a result that almost cost him his career. After this ordeal he was just not the same player. He started this season playing in couple pre-season games, but he was completely out of shape, and lacked the speed that he was known for. Then he started his various trips to Brazil where he got engaged and then tried to persuade PAOK to let him be loaned to Atletico Club Goianiense. PAOK worked out a deal with Goianiense but he never signed with them. Now he is trying to sign with Vasco de Gama. I don't know how serious he is about joining them considering his past and how unpredictable he is. Maybe you can shed some light for us on how serious Vasco de Gama is about him. He would be joining his ex teammate Leo Matos there. Matos is highly respected by PAOK fans.1 point

The Republicans and indeed McConnell have no interest in helping Biden in any way, even if the Republican base is for a given policy. The vast majority of Americans wanted the COVID relief package including taxpayer financial aid, and the majority of Republican voters agreed. Not a single R in Congress voted for it, though several went back to their states to claim credit for the same bill. At any rate, Biden needs to act, which means that executive orders isn't the way to do it--EOs are within existing law. So, new laws must be passed by Congress, and the problem is the filibuster in the Senate. Either it has to be reformed--make it for 41 Senator to bock a bill, not how it is now that 1 blocks it and 60 are needed to overcome the filibuster. Or, scrap it altogether. It is essential for Biden and the Dems to pass laws and they have very little time to do it, IF they have a chance to retain their majority in Congress after the 2022 midterm elections. Usually the party in power loses seats, and the Dems have thin majority in the House and 50-50 split in the Senate. I say screw McConnell's tear jerkers about traditions and norms. He's a big hypocrite. But, Biden seems to have learned from Obama's mistakes trying to pursue bipartisanship, AND, I think, the times have changed. Most Dems believe compromise and delays will get them defeats as it happened under Obama and in 2016.1 point

I represented Greece on the national level for the Greek National Baseball team in European competitions in Euro 2012. I was in tears the first time I wore that jersey and heard the anthem. So from someone who actually put on the official Greece uniform, I CAN confirm, that I felt in my heart I was representing my country and I put on the best effort I could for Greece.1 point
