Many reports out of some decent English outlets are saying that both Chelsea and ManU have Sokrati in their transfer shortlist this summer. Love him at Dortmund, but having just turned 29, it may be a great time for him to make the leap.

Needed at Liverpool FC with his former boss at Dortmund.

Club is a lateral move at best but Premier league is a nice step.

Returned to the starting XI today after missing the last 2 games with a slight injury. Dortmund led Schalke 4-0 at half time, only to implode in the final half hour and be where equalized in stoppage time for a 4-4 draw!!

it sucks that everyone uses dortmund as a stepping stone. could be an elite club

aubamayang lewandowski hummels dembele sokratis reus all in one club would be lethal.

BVB cannot offer the prestige that clubs like Real, Barca, ManU, Bayern, etc can. They are one level below and thus will always be at the mercy of a handful of clubs who can pry away their talent.

Dortmund is one of my favourite clubs, but it`s hard to deny that I would want to see Sokratis in a club like Real Madrid.

Dortmund has no consistency this year and almost the entire starting XI has been a revolving door.

It's not Wenger who is spearheading this, it's their top scout and former member of BVB Sven Mislintat and he will stay on and likely have a more influential role now. He is the one who signed Mavropanos and also helped get Aubameyang from Dortmund.

Pretty much a done deal that he will be Arsenal`s first signing of the summer. He has earned it and I cannot wait to see it.

Would be the first sensible transfer Arsenal has made in defence in many years.

For reasons unknown Wenger forgot (maybe he's getting senile) part of what made his "Invincibles" team so invincible.  It was that he had players that could be brutes if required.  Keown, Campbell, Parlour, Vieira.  These guys can give kicks as well as take a kick.

Wenger tried to build a Barcelona type of team which is fine if you have the biggest budget in the world but he didn't.  For years poor Arsenal fans have had to watch as mid-table and lower teams get "stuck in" and overwhelm Arsenal through sheer physicality.  You think Vieira would let the opposition get away with that ?  I don't think so.  When your entire team is soft the opposition can smell it.  And yet Wenger would *whinge* for YEARS that his team was unlucky.  When you're unlucky in the same circumstances for year after year you're not unlucky.  If Wenger had 2 brutes in the back that don't take crap and one in the middle he would've got a lot closer to winning a league.

As to why Wenger couldn't see this who the hell knows.  One of life's mysteries.

Should be announced any time now...reportedly he's been in the UK for a few days at least. Also saw earlier that he had apparently rejected ManU last season.
