loup Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 :gr: Borussia Dortmund 1-1 VfL Bochum Theofanis Gekas put the Bundesliga strugglers ahead after half an hour, but Ebu Smolarek equalised within five minutes. Zvjezdan Misimovic was at the root of most Bochum moves while Gekas was invariably on the end of them. The Greek striker's acrobatic overhead kick missed the post by inches while he came closer to scoring with a shot across the face of goal after cutting into the penalty area from the left. The goal came when Gekas dispossessed Markus Brzenska to bear down on the Dortmund goalkeeper. Gekas feigned a move one way and let the ball instead roll beyond the last line of the Dortmund defence to then easily slot it into the empty goal.

Bravo Funky Fani! I think he's loan deal will either be made permanent or he will find another club abroad. He is right on with his comments on the Greek league et al.
DUDE Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 He's on form and with Haristeas and Papadopoulos injured he deserves a decent appearance agaisnt France.

DUDE Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Where is he in the scoring charts in Germany now?
bar7 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Where is he in the scoring charts in Germany now? at the moment he's impressively tied in 4th with Bremen's Diego,& Klose with 6 goals :gr:
TheCity1924 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Gekas scored again with what greek papers are calling the goal of the season (so far). Gekas will definitely be picked up by a bigger club at the end of the season.

Athens4 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I hope he does get bought by either Bochum or a bigger team. It just goes to show that he is better than the Greek League.
