We guaranteed to be seeded all the way to the playoff round in all 3 competitions.

If we progress from QR2 in CL we are guaranteed League Stage in Conference League.

If we progress from QR3 in CL we are guaranteed League Stage in Europa League.

  • Blackhawk changed the title to PAOK in Europe 2024-2025 (News, Draws, Rankings)

I'm not going to start copying and pasting what I see on wiki, but it looks like we are very likely to have a remarkably straightforward path to at least the play offs. I can't tell you how happy it makes me that Benfica is going through the League Path, and no Ajax in sight. We learn our opponents on 19 June.

It would be just like us to get knocked out in that first tie, of course.

Correct, we'll have to get through six games before we can enter the league stage. So really not that different from before, apart from the fact that our potential opponents are a bit less scary.

We are automatically the top ranked team during the 2nd & 3rd Qualifying Round should we qualify. We would be the third highest seeded team for the Playoff rounds. The only team that I think we won't be favorites against will be Galatasaray

Looks like we now know who every team that will be competing this summer is. Not going to copy and paste it because it's simply too much info (and it doesn't really change the above convo)... The worst draw we could get, still would be vs Steaua (FCSB). There are some other teams that could be problematic for us, if they were not already high up there in coefficient points, but Steaua seems to be the only one to avoid coming out out of the first qualifying round.

We will get our draw for the second qualifying round on the 19th, and then apparently it'll take a full month to learn who our third round opponents will be, should we progress to that point. That's probably because of the Euro 2024 tournament, which is starting in about three weeks.

Here are the links to what I was eyeballing:

This is kind of interesting - we gain a place in the seedings if Real Madrid wins:

I should also note that @Dutch Eagle's favorite site says there are five Greek teams in UEFA competitions this summer, which I do not think is accurate? https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/crank2024.html

No this is up and till this season (2023/2024) that finishes tomorrow and where we started with 5 teams. So this is correct.

Real Madrid winning CL basically means that Shakhtar Donetsk moves to the league stage and unseeded Ferencvaros moves to the seeded side and we avoid being drawn against them in the play off round. Don't really see what kind of advantage we gain. We should really worry about making it to the playoff round first before worrying about our opponents there.

Yes it's for the 2023-24 season as the Dutchman points out, which determines the teams for the 2025-2026 European season, and thanks to Olympiakos winning ECL we get 5 teams  (2 CL, 1 EL, 2 ECL).

@PaokCT is too bashful to share this excellent post he found, giving estimated earnings for all of the teams they expect to compete in the League phase. Just imagine what we could do with this money.

If you follow the link, there's a whole thread giving support for the #s. I'll let you guys decide if it's accurate, though.

  • 2 weeks later...

We started this season with a coefficient of 34.500 as we got rid of the bad 2019/2020 season where we as reigning champions could not reach a GS.

As we will at least reach PO ECL we are sure of 2.500 for reaching that. Therefore we are now again at 37.000 where we ended last season.

Wednesday we will learn our opponent or the two possible opponents if we draw "a winner of a Q1-tie".

Do you know when they do the “groups” of possible opponents? I think it’s always a day before.

Seedings and any groupings will be available at UEFA.com from 8.30 CET on the day of the draw.

Sometimes clubs post the groupings earlier as they are informed prior of the disclosure.

First there will be a draw for QR1 on Tuesday June 18 which already has seedings and groupings set.  Wednesday will be the draw for QR2 which will include  PAOK. So far the only possible opponent that is known that we might face is

Jagielonia Bialystok (POL)

The remaining possible 11 opponents will be winners from QR1.
