Antaeus7 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 I think this system will be awesome Just like in FIBA World Cup, the qualifying system for European countries is spot on!

The nations league will only provide playoff spots to the winners of their respective sections. Unless the winners of the nations league group qualify automatically through the qualifiers, the playoff spot would then go to the next best rank side in the nations league. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_2020_qualifying#Format
Boxou Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 no that's not true. you can read it here in greek. http://www.cnn.gr/news/sports/story/98485/uefa-to-nations-league-mpainei-sti-zoi-mas-vid Quote
J1078 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Perfect explanation. http://www.agonasport.com/agonasport-allnews/20170210-2?rq=nations league 1

paokarag4 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 @Boxou Only the group winners from League A play-off in a final 4 system. The other league winners, gain promotion. Everywhere I read has the nations league winners going into a PLAYOFF SYSTEM to reach the finals of Euro 2020. So yes you can qualify via the nations league but there will be another play-off round post traditional qualifiers 1
Brklyngrk Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 To recap, I believe this is how the system works.... Each team is put into a category, A, B, C or D, depending on their rankings. Then the teams are split into 4 groups. The team the finishes first in the group gains two things, 1) promotion to the next category 2) entry into the playoff pool within your category. The team that finishes last gets relegated into the next category. The winner for the four team play-off gets the entry into the Euro. The winner of the play-off of category A wins the league of nations.
Boxou Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 What you guys fail to understand is that the playoffs are related with the AFOREMENTIONED league. Which practically means EACH league will produce at least one Euro 202 participant. The so called playoffs you are bragging about will be between the best 4 teams of each league with the eventual winners gaining a ticket to the Euros, be it LEAGUE A or LEAGUE D.......

THIS Also this means that someone from League D will make it to the Euro finals. UEFA Rank 40 and below
