We, PAO fans have become like OSFP fans ten years ago......

Up to yesturday everybody was attacking Schum, and all the transfers etc etc...

Now, since yesturday everybody is good, Zutautas great etc etc.. I am not implying that I did not critisise many of them but I would like to think that I still believe the same things as I did 2 days ago..... Epale is crap (yesturday everything he did was pure luck, even the passes that he made), so is Konstadenides (the 2nd Lamoio!!!)

I think that Munch is a GREAT player cannot even be compared to the Lamoio Konstadenides (the guy has played in Budensliga for 10 years), so is Michalakis and Basinas...... Zutautas is not a great player but at least he is passionate and always trys his best.........

I think if all the insjured players come back, the team will be very strong.....(Papadopoulos, Kyriakos, Olisadebe)

I would also like to stress out that Goumas and Henriksen were fantastic, and I think that when Kyriakos comes back he should play instead of Morris rather than Goumas. I also hope that Schum will find a way to mix Michalaki, Pap and Olisadebe in the squad, and that Munch will finaly play in the starting 11 instead of the LAMOIO Konstadinides......

GREAT GAME LAST NIGHT, PAO IS STILL THE PRIDE OF GREECE....EVEN THE WORSE PAO EUROPEAN SEASON IS MUCH BETTER THAN ALL THE OTHER GREEK TEAMS BEST EUROPEAN SEASONS.... THIS IS A FACT MY DEAR FRIENDS!!!

pappou13 is mostly right. I still KNOW Zoutaoutas sucks and Epalle. They can have some good games obvioulsy but they severley lack the consistency to play for PAO. as for Munch- he is proving himself a very good replacement for Fyssas. Not just from this game but in the game against PAOK i remember he was fantastic, and in other games I have heard good things this surprised me.

This victory does however change my mind a bit about Soum - if he can get some good consistent players games like this could happen more. He has had some good displays- PAO dominated PAOK and got 3 past them, this game - Stuttgart was a breakdown and a mistake but for 70 mins in that game we were amazing but with no luck - that is how we should play. Teams get better under time and maybe thats what the PAO board are aiming for to hold on to him. i think now he deserves a second chance- if he screws this one up it should be back to the synagog.

Pappouli you are confused!

That's NOT the Konstantinidis you have on your team!

(the guy has played in Budensliga for 10 years)...

That goes for Munch, not the LAMOIO!!! I KNOW EXACTLY WHICH LAMOIO I AM TALKING ABOUT. Sorry

What a great performance!!

I sat amongst the most quiet home support I've experienced in a while (did you see them all leave with 10 minutes to go?). They really didn't expect Pao to provide such strong opposition. Haven't read the local press yet, but the coach was last night blaming injuries and lack of experience. Bullshit!! Pao didn't allow them to dominate the game as they do in domestic games, and they quite simply ran out of attacking ideas.

Everyone here was very impressed by the performance of Seitaridis, and Epalle when he came on.

Good luck for the rest of the season!

Johnny , Epalle (although an average player)...is one of the few players in PAO's team with his dashes and unpredictability......, who can bring a certain vital life in PAO's static game.......but as most of the Phantis Users....know football only from television.....they look at him with different eyes......

POOR YIOURIKIS!!

He has the ultimate dilemma today. Who to support tonight between Lyon and Celtic. A Celtic win would see them distracted from their league campaign. A Celtic defeat would see them concentrate on defending their already substantial lead in the championship. But if Rangers continue to play as they did last night, their season is over regardsless of what anyone else does.

Off to buy the newspapers, and see the reaction.

Hello to all :D

Just got back from Glasgow and what an experience last night!!!

First of all I have to congratulate the Rangers fans for their sportsmanship after the game who came up to shake our hands, congratulate and wish us good run in the UEFA Cup. I don't know if Greek fans would be capable of that.

I reached Glasgow City centre at about 11 am being escorted by a Rangers fan of all people who I happend to be seated with on the plane! The was a an Irish pub the "Feite" on St Vincent Street that was supposed to be the big randez-vouz point for all the PAO fan, but when I entered there was only 4. I had a cappucino which had a chocolate spinkle shamrock and waited hopefully for some familiar face. An hour later, no one either than the aforementioned had showed up. In the mean time i had to go pick up my matchday ticket, so took the opportunity to walk around the centre of town. As i walked by the streets I was getting winks and nods of aknowledgement from Celtic fans (most probably) and a few stares and glaeres from Rangers fans. Being on my own I was thinking if it was a good idea strolling in the streets with my Pana colours. I then saw a few fans scattered here and there and decided to tag along with a bunch for better or for worse. B)

Unfortunately though..this occasion was not like Wembley '98, Old Trafford 2000, Highbury '02 or Brussells 2003...there weren't many of us out there this time 'round.

I returned back to the pub at 3:30 and by now they were about 30-40 fans downing burgers and washing them down with pints of guinness. By 5:30 there must have been 100 or so and we decided to head of to the stadium.

Ibrox Park is fantastic to say the least. This stadium is an envy for any Greek fan and hopefully all the clubs in Greece may possess something of its quality one day.

The total of the PAO fans was only 500. But 500 hundred that counted since there were just a handful of "tourists) namely, mparmpades and theitses which made our section hard core with everyone singing in tune. I must also point out there were about 20 Rapid Vienna, 10 Shamrock Rovers and quite a few Celtic fans with us.

I won't describe the game since the press has already done that. All I want to say is that PAO showed some promise yesterday and the team can feel proud of qualifying when no one gave them a chance. Hopefully, this raise the players moral and give reason for the club to injected 2-3 quality players to not only build on this qualification, but most importantly to win the league title again.

7 years is a long , long time....

Hey Evergreen,

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Will try out the bar you mentioned - passed it a thousand times without stepping inside.

One worrying comment, was all those guys winking at you! Are you sure you weren't in Edinburgh? They love nice boys through there!! Got to make sure you don't wink back.

You didn't manage to catch one of the players shirts did you?

Thanks Irlande! :D

Cheers Johnny. Actually, when the players came over to throw their shirts i actually moved out of the way!!! :D

Trust me, the rumbles for the shirts can get pretty violent and at the end of the it all i got a foto with Munch's shirt that a friend of mine caught. mind you it got a few shreads torn off it by the mob and my mate was also counting his teeth after his brave attempt!!!

I really enjoyed it and I hope i could come up for an old firm some time.

ps i wish they charged Glasgow prices in London! Large Fish'n' chips only

Bravo and THANK GOD! Finally a win in Europe and one that counts. Hopefully they will build on this w/ Papadopoulos and Olisadebe coming back but I still stand by the fact that we need a new coach. Lets face it, if Markarian were with us, we would still be in the CL. Hope for the best.

My friend and I were desperate to see this game so we ventured to the Rangers Club in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. There were about 60 scots in the place and the only Greeks were me and my friend. When Zuta scored that goal we lost it the whole place wanted to kills us, but we stayed any way's and watched PAO BEAT THE CRAP OUT of the Rangers. These were some hard core fans in there that were about to kick my ass but we managed to leave the establishment both un-harmed, and VERY PROUD TO PAO FAN. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE FANS YOU WERE WITH EVERGREEN, BECUASE YOUR 500 VAZELI WERE SINGING THE WHOLE NIGHT AND WERE LOUDER THAN THE RANGERS FANS. WELL DONE

Thanks for the comments guys

I want to dedicate this victory to all the PAO fans in Britain that didn't stand by the team, even when they had it at their feet. You all missed out!!!

Yes, we did sing all evening and the Gers only got up a couple of instances...once for their goal and the other for half time. It's a shame when PAO has thousands of fans in the UK for only 500 to show up. Anyway..i didnt miss out..so what am i bitching about?

Hopefully I will have some snaps for you tommorow!

Monaxa, PAO ESY!

Looking forward to seeing your photos Evergreen. I too was surprised there were only 500 or so Pao fans, despite current form. I could only see very little of you from way up in the stand behind (exactly where Zutautas struck), but could certainly hear you. When the Rangers fans start to sing (pity little of it is about football!!), they can create a hell of a noise, but they were kept to a minimum by the way we played. Their fans were arguing amongst themselves for most of the second half (tactics, lack of vocal support etc), and it really kicked off when many started to leave early.

Will keep you in mind if I get hold of some tickets for an old firm game.

Looking forward to the draw in 2 hours time. From what I understand from the Uefa site, we will be drawn against one of the following:

FC Spartak Moskva (RUS)

AJ Auxerre (FRA)

Gazientepspor (TUR)

Vålerenga IF (NOR)
