100,000 ... a man can dream!  If nothing else it will be most interesting to see how it goes.  It would be interesting to see if they release figures at the end of the season showing subs based on region e.g. x amount in Thessaloniki, Athens, other cities as well as countries overseas.

The commercial subs will be interesting too.  Initially I thought they probably won’t get many but if you factor in how say a game like PAOK vs Olympiakos how many shops in Athens would get the subscription ?  There is the obvious question of how do you police it and of that I’m not sure but if it can be policed then the I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t get a few thousand commercial subs.

The part I’m not sure about is the expenses and running costs to be able to guesstimate how profitable (or not) this PAOK TV experiment will be.  Any ideas people ?

Finally @Emperor @ukworm @Mitsos @almand don’t forget to pay for a sub for the game coming this week, ha ha.

Not sure why any of those people or bars would get subscriptions for only one or two games? Much cheaper to just do a pay per view for each one.

I don't think 100,000 is a realistic number. 50,000 will be a big success IMHO. My projection is around 20,000 annual subscriptions.

Don't see any of those guys paying for the game. Mitsos is welcomed at my house to watch the game. Frankly I don't think a lot fans of other teams will go for PAOK TV  when we play their team. They will more likely see the game at a  kafenio or watch it illegally on some shitty stream.

So far ...

7,500 PAOK TV annual subscriptions sold

3,500 single game (PAOK - Aris) sold

Also 57 etablishments are listed on the Hot Spot list as having subscribed to the commercial package.

Disappointing to see that no establishment in Athens has taken on the package. I will be in Greece this weekend but I doubt I will see the game.

They should put a sale rep on the ground go around signing up commercial premises!

I'm discouraged because these numbers are still too low ...

By kick off if they can't get at least 50,000 subscribed views for PAOK-Aris then I am really concerned they won't get close to the $6MM they could have gotten from Nova for the year.

NOVA was not giving us 6 mil. Only 4.5 mil. If we get 50,000 annual subscriptions it will be a huge success in my opinion.

The Hot Spots number is now at 101, including one in Athens. I also think that some establishments outside of Thessaloniki will choose not to be included in the list for obvious reasons.

@Athens4 αν δεν αγοράσεις subscription καλό θα ήταν να σταματήσεις και να ποστάρεις. Συμφωνείς;

I would love to know how many subscriptions are from Australia and from which cities in Australia. How could we find this out?

1.529 million. We'll at least make more than with Nova, at this rate. I should start a google doc on this.

28.701 που πηγαίνουν στο γήπεδο και περίπου 50Κ που είναι διατεθειμένοι να δώσουν έστω ένα συμβολικό ποσό (they even have payment plan for $7 per month) για την "αγαπημένη" τους ομάδα.

Does anybody know the numbers for the Panionios game? This is what I have so far for my little scoreboard:

  Opponent Price # Sold Net

SEASON PRICE 1 (through O ARIS)
€69.99 21,000.00 €1,469,790.00
  COMMERCIAL SUBS €200.00 101.00 €20,200.00
8/25 Panaitolikos €4.99 45,000.00 €224,550.00
8/29 Slovan Bratislava €4.99 5,000.00 €24,950.00
  Slovan/Panionios package €7.99 35,000.00 €279,650.00
9/1 Panionios €4.99   €0.00
9/22 Aris €7.99 10,000.00 €79,900.00
  Lamia €4.99 10,000.00 €49,900.00
  Panathinaikos €7.99   €0.00
  AEL €4.99   €0.00
  Xanthi €4.99   €0.00
  Atromitos €4.99   €0.00
  AEK €7.99   €0.00
  Asteras €4.99   €0.00
  Volos €4.99   €0.00
  OFI €4.99   €0.00
  Olympiakos €7.99   €0.00

        €2,148,940.00 <-- total sales

If I remember to do so, I'll continue updating it. I'll probably have to put new price points for season tickets going forward, assuming we get detail that granular. Suffice to say, we'll likely beat 4mm at this rate

I don’t know if the Panionios game was sold seperately. I recollect from those days only that the Slovan game or the Slovan-Panionios- package was available. And not one just for Panionios.

Seems weird that they would split it up, but it's certainly possible.

Accidentally copied down the 10k sales for Aris down into the Lamia game up above. Whoops. Will correct later.

I think the number was "over $5MM" per https://www.paok24.com/blog/paok24/136433/o-paok-plisiazei-sto-open

Also the $5MM was net whereas we have undisclosed expenses - I think Nova claimed $100k cost for each broadcast. Either way, seems far off and maximum 25-35k viewers for PAOK-Aris is a huge, huge setback. No reason to expect even half that for teams like Lamia, Volos, Xanthi, AEL, etc.

You're 100% right - the majority of what PAOK is making, is being spent on producing the content. They need to massively increase sales to truly compete.
