Blackhawk
Tough game to start the EL League Stage campaign. I'll be happy with a tie. On top of that we follow Sunday with another tough one against Aris.
paokarag4
Galatasaray with a comfortable 3-1 away win over their rivals Fenerbahçe earlier today. They are 6 from 6 in the league and have now scored 20 goals in those 6 wins. They are a squad choc-full of players with experience from Europe's top 5 leagues Osimhen, Torreira, Batshuayi, Davison Sanchez, Mertens and not to mention Icardi (who I believe is injured and will miss this game), plus plenty more. It will be super tough to go there and get a result, they have quality all over the pitch and are a clear level above the rest of the Turkish league. I agree with Blackhawk, a draw is a good result. PaokCT
Hell, even a one goal loss is a decent result. First tiebreaker is GD, not head to head I believe.
Dutch Eagle
Tiebreakers Europa League: Teams will be ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss). If two or more teams are equal on points upon completion of the league phase, the following tiebreaking criteria are applied, in the order given, to determine their rankings: Goal difference; Goals scored; Away goals scored; Wins; Away wins; Higher number of points obtained collectively by league phase opponents; Superior collective goal difference of league phase opponents; Higher number of goals scored collectively by league phase opponents; Lower disciplinary points total (direct red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points); UEFA club coefficient. During the league phase, criteria 1 to 5 will be used to rank teams who have equal number of points. Should any teams be equal on points and tied on the first five criteria, they will be considered equal in position and sorted alphabetically. Criteria 6 to 10 will only be used to break ties upon completion of all matches.
Bananas
@paokarag4 I didn't realise Osimhen was at Galatasaray. He was an animal two seasons ago when Napoli won the title. Wow, I don't know what happened for Osimhen to end up at Galatasaray but that's bad news for us. On a serious note, on paper comparing players, salaries and budgets Galatasaray are very heavy favourites. I won't be disappointed with a loss so long we play at a decent level. I'd be very happy with a draw. Either way, we'll be under the pump and we've achieved some great results against "better" teams in the past. Good luck to the boys. pash
You wouldn't play Camara? @Bananas the Osimhen thing was the result of some weird decision by Conte, who appeared desperate to reunite with Lukaku: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/soccer/news/victor-osimhen-galatasaray-loan-napoli-chelsea-transfer/122aac668c99598ae96432e9 Anyway, here's my lineup. I don't think it's a coincidence that Michailids sat yesterday: --Kotarski-- --Otto--Kedziora--Michailidis--Baba-- --Camara--Schwab-- --Zivkovic--Konstantelias--Taison-- --Chalov-- Wouldn't be shocked if Tissoudali starts at CF, but doubt it. Ozdoyev for Schwab or Shoretire for Taison are also a chance of course. Guess we'll see!
Dutch Eagle
I think Razvan will start the 11 @PaokCT mentions with only the experienced Tissoudali instead of Chalov but not in the strange Christmastree or whatever system our Ph.D in football invented after smoking some herbs. Everyting other than a loss is a win for us. Clubs from Turkey are way "smarter" than Greek or other clubs. They sign big names, offer them net wages and agree to pay the taxes in the contracts what eventually never happens. And as nobody at their IRS dares to sue them to do so or file for bankruptcy of the big Fener, Gala, Besiktas or Trabzon there is a legal non-level playing field. But then again. We are PAOK. Our diffucult matches are easy or they look so, our easy ones are the toughest ones. PAME PAOKARA! 1
