If you’re gonna come on here and try to make a point you may wanna get your facts straight. In 2018 we lost in the playoff round for qualifying after losing to croatia... so your point is invalid.

Ok better stop with that trolling since nobody claimed Spain and Sweden are easy, most people with me first have been quite pessimistic about the upcoming campaign. Really don't know what's the point of your comments.

It's different this time around. There will be 12 teams in the playoffs (ten 2nd place winners and two best teams from Nations League). The 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups of 4 teams. There will a be a semifinal round and a final round within those groups, with the 3 winners making the finals.

Realistically we have a very small chance of making the finals. If we manage to outperform ourselves and do finish in 2nd place ahead of Sweden we still have to eliminate 2 other countries in order to make it to Qatar. If I was a betting man I would say we are not going to the finals, but than again back in 2004 we had Spain in our qualifying group and we all know how that turned out, so anything is possible. Miracles do happen sometimes.

Giannoulis will not play in this game due to cards which is fine with me. He should be rested for the big game on Sunday. The only problem is that we have no other LB available, so I see Crespo playing there again

Why do you say we have to beat two counties if we finish second and make the playoff round? Isn't the playoff a home and home against another second place team? That's how I remember it.

Sweden can be beat they’re nothing special. Going up vs Switzerland Ukraine and even Poland from pot 2 would have been tough. Last time we had Spain in our qualification group Greece went on to win the EURO 🏆 PA ME ELLADA!!!

Wague and Michailidis were decent. Nothing spectacular, but they played fine. Tzolis and Zivkovic the MVP's of the game. Without those two we would have lost the game. Low point was El Kaddouri with his red card.

Not easy, but not impossible. Sweden has actually been better since Ibra's international retirement.

Sweden play similar to how we played in the early 2000s, more defensive. Anything is possible. 2nd is doable if we play to our strengths. This will be a great test to see how far we have come.

Spain will run away with this group. For us there are no easy games we are capable to drop points to Georgia and Kosovo as we've witnessed. In regards to Sweden we don't really fair well against Scandinavian teams. This draw is difficult but as @Ellada2004 said it could have been worse.

Greece will give Sweden a challenge for 2nd in the group. As I said not the most favourable group but thank God we didn’t land in Group C Italy & Switzerland or Group D France & Ukraine

We would have had Azerbaijan instead of Kosovo but do to restraints Serbia and Kosovo can’t be in the same group so they moved Kosovo with us

We disagree with the majority of this statement. Before his injury, Galanopoulos was the only Greek midfielder with the ability to play in the 8 role. He's certainly not the same player as Kourbelis, as he has a much larger propensity to get forward and has a larger volume of through balls, downfield longballs, and overall vision. It doesn't take much for a player to be more technical than Zeca, his value is in his work rate. We've seen Mantalos played in a deeper role both for Aek and the National team, it's not great. He's much more effective further up the pitch. There's a reason why he's the Super league assist leader and also leads the Super League in "Major scoring opportunities created/Smart passes", both in volume and on a per 90 min. Although we would agree that Fortounis may be a better CAM, as he has better dribbling ability, but Mantalos is also a solid CAM as well. The dual CAM midfield we used with Fortounis/Bakasetas with a lone DM was very interesting and could be the recipe for success for us against smaller sides and we would be better off than forcing yet another player out of position.

Switzerland i want nothing to do with because we never get results against them. Also this will sound ridiculous but in terms of minnows , i want nothing to do with Faroes.

This is not the post meant for such discussion but this team's ταβάνι is the 3rd place and a very good run which depends on the group will be the 2nd place. We have no hopes to qualify for the next WC and if you look the next games hoping we will you will just be dissappointed. The aim for this qualification is for our NT to grab some points, remain 3rd pot and maybe get some better ranking to secure 3rd pot for a while and see us be able to play the damn ball vs both minor nations (like Kosovo and Slovenia) but also look competitive with better Nations like Austria, Romania , Czechia , Russia, Ukraine. We are nowhere near to look competitve vs teams like Portugal , France , Germany , Spain. Aim low and realistic and we ll be fine. I am not a supporter of JVS for sure but I reallly have to give it to the man. He has indeed made us a nation that can play the ball and make 15-20 chances per game, which we never did have. Slovenia is not the shithole we present it, they re slightly worse than us, and yet we made them - in 2 games - hope the game ends 0-0 which it did. Fortounis needs to be a starter because even on his bad day the opponents know him and mark him a lot, opening spaces. If JVS wants Bakasetas in as well he ll have to use 2 AMs like he did vs Cyprus.

I think the best hope is to have a France or another top pot 1 team so then all we have to do is focus on 2nd place. Those teams won’t drop points against anyone else. I’d rather us be in a battle for 2nd with one other team rather than a battle with four teams for spots 1 and 2. If that makes sense!
