Denmark 1 Portugal 0

Losers are in our WC group.

Over 2 legs. But yes this would be worse than us losing today

Garbage. Wasted 5 minutes checking it as well. I doubt we're getting that back.

I mean, if it remains this scoreline. Can’t blame the referee. We didn’t score… it’s not like they took away a goal

Not a good result.  The penalty changed the game for sure but up until that point Greece didn't look better to me.  I thought Scotland looked more experienced on the ball and we looked 2nd best.  No presence in central midfield as I feared.  Why do we persist with Mantalos.  He should be finished from this team but we don't have many veterans they trust in there.  Based on that performance maybe we are too soon for the top Nations League 17 year old Karetsas in his first cap (almost unheard of for the NT) was the player driving play.  Both promising and concerning.

Greece can turn this around, if Jovanovic starts the same players who played mostly in the second half.

I was impressed with the team's performance in the second half. Karetsas was outstanding and deserves a starting spot in the next game. However, I felt that some of our more experienced players underperformed. Siopis, despite his energetic efforts, struggled with passing accuracy and decision-making. Mantalos seemed sluggish and failed to provide sufficient support with his forward passes. While Mantalos showed promise, his execution was lacking.

In my opinion, Tsimikas is no longer an effective player, and it's time to consider replacing him. Similarly, Masouras had a slow start and was correctly substituted at halftime. Konstantelias, on the other hand, brought a refreshing energy compared to Bakasetas. Delias's ball control is a valuable asset to the team, and Karetsas's talent enhanced the team's overall performance. Tzolis was unfortunate to miss his chances, but he, along with Delias and Karetsas, should be considered for starting roles more often.

Although I liked the substitutions, something was missing. It's clear that we need to upgrade our midfield. With Siopis suspended for the next game, I'd like to see Alexandropoulos given a chance. Alternatively, Zafeiris would be a decent replacement. I've heard criticism of Ioannidis, but I believe he's a valuable player. His pressing, timing, and positioning are excellent, despite an off-day with ball control. I'm confident he'll bounce back in the next game.

For the upcoming match, my preferred lineup would be:

Tzolakis
Vagiannidis
Mavropanos
Koulierakis
Tsimikas
Mouzakitis
Alexandropoulos
Karetsas
Delias
Tzolis
Ioannidis

The problem with Tsimikas was his set piece nothing too threatening all balloons.  His overall play is pretty good but he shouldn't be on set piece for the NT.  On set piece we looked smaller than the Scottish and hardly threatened.  Mantalos is lazy as F***.  No room for this kind of soft lazy player in the middle of the park.  Does nothing, no movement no energy.  Not even skilled enough to be that invisible.  I'm surprised to say it but we missed Bakasetas presence and shot in the team.

I agree on Masouras.  He should not be starting for the NT.  Delias, I dunno.  Looked skilled but soft not commanding presence.  Needs more time he should have gotten more time leading up to this.  Maybe time for Alexandropoulos and Mouzakitis to come in.  It's concerning how young the team will look but overall there aren't better alternatives. Also Pavlidis should start the 2nd leg 100%.  I don't know who's sitting for him but he is starting.

Greece started the match very sluggish way to many bad passes as a few posters have said. Siopis who I really rate had a tough time completing some simple 5yd passes. He ran his tail off covering the midfield, his effort is always top notch. As for Mantalos enough of him on the team there are better options. Tzimikas had trouble crossing the ball when given the opportunity and his corners were not good as well. The second half was total domination as Scotland sat back the whole half and could barely get over the half line. We just could not get our shots on target though we had one of the post. Pelkas should not be taking free kicks we had a foul in a very dangerous position and he flubbed it into the wall. Karetasas was crazy good what skill on the ball something I have not seen from any Greek footballer and this in his first appearance. I am hopeful Greece can go to Scotland and get a 1 nil and take the tie to extra time. Hoping Ivanovich starts Karetsas and Vlachodimos in goal. Lets GO HELLAS!
