Why?

We have no shot at finishing first. Some team will come with an offer and we will accept. Makes no sense to keep him.

Ismaila Ouedraogo is invited for the Africa Cup of Nations by the Burkina Faso-manager.

They will face host Cameroon, Cape Verde and Ethiopia. The tournament starts January 9th 2022 and lasts till February 6th

He will be sold to a Scandinavian or Eastern European side who will then knock us out of a European cup on a future date. He may even score. You heard it here first.

Because he is not that good.

He’s playing in an international cup for a team that’s ranked top 60’s in the world. He’d be worth a shot for our senior team. Not like we have been good this year…

I have seen few PAOK 'B" games and believe me he has no spot on our senior team. He is young and might improve in the future, but he is nowhere near being good enough right now.

Our boy Ouedraogo is through to the next round. He played another 30 minutes today. I will try and catch Burkina Faso in the next round.

Our boy's tournament run is over after losing to Senegal 3-1. I guess he will be back in Thessaloniki soon.

He and his team are playing tonight for the bronze medal.

Not all that surprising. Lyratzis only recently started playing, and I think a new manager is more likely to give the more experienced guys a run. Hopefully that changes soon.

Paschalakis is called up for the Ethniki but Tsiggaras and Lyratzis are ignored by the new manager.

If you go on the NT forums, people are calling for them to bring back Ninis! ?

Hmm I haven’t checked that thread out in ages but I’m not surprised.  A common theme I’ve seen over the years is for this need to have a scapegoat.  Be it Katsouranis, Tziolis or whoever.  Not that these guys were great, they had their flaws but somehow there was this belief if we replaced them everything else would fall into place.  Now it seems to be Bakasetas and Mantalos.

Most people can watch soccer all their lives but can’t read a game let alone understand how team management, psychology and cohesion works.  Skill is but one factor in selecting a player.  There are many other factors considered.  If it was all about skill, just go and pick one of those guys you see in a park that can juggle the ball like a champion.

I am sorry but calling Rota over Lyratzis is a very dumb move by the new coach. Same thing with Kourfalidis over Tsiggaras.

There are some other choices that make no sense. No Giannoulis and Tzolis.

The only good thing is that he did not call the two saboteurs Manolas and Papastathopoulos, apparently because they are tired. Keep those primadonas off the national team.
