Anyway, could benefit us they did so well because they will have at least two games at the end of February.
Soprano76
You would want Oly to do well in Europe since Greece needs 15th place to have 2 teams in UCL qualies. Given the competitive nature of the Greek league this year, would suck to be left out if you finished second by a few points.

For next European season we are already guaranteed 2 spots in CL and 3 in EL. For 2021-2022 we are almost 99.9% sure not to finish in 15th place, so it doesn't really much matter what Olympiakos does. The only good thing is that they will be busy with European game in between Superleague games. As it is the PAOK - Olympiakos game will be played in between the two EL games that Olympiakos will play (Thursday EL game, Sunday PAOK - Olympiakos, Thursday EL game). This can only be good for our team.
Yiankos
I think we deserve to have teams in Europa League 2. Besides PAOK, Olympiakos, and AEK who are able to do something good (even though we s%$#! the bed the last three years), the rest of the teams are not able to play to Europa League and there's no way they can make it to the group stages. Atromitos, Xanthi, O A.R.I.S., Larisa and so forth should be in Europa League 2.
pash
I agree, actually. Those teams need experience and they can benefit from any additional funds they receive from a third-tier competition. And maybe - just maybe - Europa League 1 will be slightly more competitive with fewer terrible teams. This is not that different from how the Nations League is set up, IMO
Yiankos
Yiankos
Olympiakos want the game replayed because the goal they scored was disallowed (even though it was onside) There are 2 ways I can take this debate on. Number one and the unbiased view is: The fact that VAR has been implemented without the technology to produce the line to assist with offsides is a joke. How can the broadcaster have this line, yet the people making the make or break decision need to make a call of inches based on the naked eye? Just another example of incompetence in our country. (But since when were the gavori unbiased) 2: (and what will probably be the favoured view in here) Ahhhhh kala htane otan o Katsouranis htane offside?? Olympiakos is being beaten at their own game and they can't take it. Kala na pathoune for all the years of dictatorship we (and the other clubs) played under. Bananas
Replay ? Really ? That would be bizarre. The only way you could have a replay is if you proved, and I mean proved, that there was corruption involved. A bad mistake from the referee is not an excuse to replay a game. If it was every second game in the world would need to be replayed. Of course, an exception could be made just for "thrylos", since they are special. I thought we were the ones with a complex, now we have company. Having said that, VAR not using a line is brain dead. Either use a line or don't use VAR to make offside decisions. If in doubt, the benefit of the doubt should go to the attacking team. Trying to work out if a player is offside by 1/16th of an inch, spare me, if he's clear offside then it's offside, otherwise, play on. Athens4
Even when corruption has been proven, never has there been a replay. The Greek league is just an absolute joke.
Dutch Eagle
Olympiakos escalated the situation by suing the 5 refs of the Volos - Olympiakos game. Is this possible according to the rules, guys? I thought that clubs are not allowed by UEFA/FIFA to go to the civil judge if they disagree. In the meantime the five refs won't be appointed in the next weeks by KED.

Bananas
Who knows if they can sue Dutch. I wonder as to their strategy ... do they know what they're doing or are they just firing pot shots out of anger. At this rate they'll be threatening to quit just like in the basketball but that's a little different as they have EuroLeague. If referees can be sued (I'm smiling while I type this) they'll be zero referees left within a year.

Yiankos
DunfermlineAthleticPAOK
***Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this and please move to the appropriate section if necessary*** This is probably a stupid question but has there been a definitive, official announcement of the way the 'Play offs' will work and if there are rough dates penciled in? Last i remember was a round robin of games with the points won here added to the seasons tally? i think i may have that wrong now that i have typed it out and with the superior knowledge on here im sure i will be corrected.
Bananas
It’s as you say @DunfermlineAthleticPAOK it’s another 10 rounds for teams finishing 1st to 6th with points being added on. All in all about the best way you could do play offs. They had some bizarre system a few years back which will hopefully never be repeated. He does not have any official position at the club so if things go wrong Olympiakos is going was their hands of the matter and in the meantime they will accomplish their goal which is intimidating the refs.
