All I have to say is that Northern Greece as a region is lucky I live in America, because with as crazy as I was when I was younger, If I got fed this paramathi for all that time, I'd be liable to snap and destroy everything in my path.

I'm happy to donate to the "Boston Thanatos rampages Thessaloniki" fund.  But, it would have to be documented on video.  Now that would make for some entertaining viewing!

Boston Thanatos, agree with you about Savvidis son.  He needs to shut up.  He makes himself look like a stooge.

As to our transfer "policy" this season,  I'm actually pleased with it, for the first time in ... forever.  At least there is a structure in place.  They are trying to remove players that are old, or who have a negative attitude, from the team.  And, they are trying to replace them with young guys with potential.  Sure, all of the transfers probably won't work out, but that's the nature of things.  At least for the first time we are actively trying to do the right thing.

Initially we started off slow.  We got Olsen as our first transfer and then things went quiet for a couple of weeks.  Then, it was one transfer after the other and they were all young guys.  We've definitely tried to fix some areas that had problems.  Lack of depth in the middle (Sabo, Cimirot, Antonis), the left back position (Leovac), and wingers (Jairo, Rodrigues).  The CB and ST positions still haven't been fixed, and it's obvious we've left it late.  Having said that, I'd rather we leave it alone rather than sign a player for the sake of it.

That's why when I read these stories of Berbatov it just makes me roll my eyes.  Just stop with the crap.  We've done well this transfer period even if we didn't fill in all the blanks.  Let's see what this bunch has got in them and we can go from there.

The only thing I disagree with is Koulouris being loaned.  If we had signed an ST then yes, loan him out, but since we haven't, just give the kid a run.  This "panic" buying at the last minute is a crock of s%$#!.  Then again, it's probably just media reports.

Poungouras loan? He would've played plenty had any of our defenders gone down with injury during the season, stupid move, we're so thin back there it's ridiculous.

Add to that I don't know what is happening with Skondras.  He was one of our best players last season.  Granted, the system Tudor is playing suits Kitsiou/Konstantinidis more, as he wants the RB to play a very attacking role, but hey, convert him to be a CB in that case.  He's shown he can play the role.

I'm not gonna lie, I like signing all the young guys, but I feel we overloaded the middle line, and left the backfield week.  It's been 3 years now that our defense is in shambles and it's yet to be addressed.  Ricardo Costa WAAAY underperformed last year and is no where near his former self.

I don't want to hear Berbatov's name anymore.  He has zero interest in playing for PAOK.  He'd rather play 2nd division in England than here.

According to MetroSport Pereyra will NOT play against us in Toumba but will be active for Qabala's home game.  I can live with the that.

Whoever believes Berbatov wouldn't be a dominant force in Greece should really stick to watching Tennis or Hockey.  Berbatov coming to Greece has become a joke, like Ronaldinho every year now for the last 3 years....

I don't want to comment on the new signings too much yet, I think Zairo and Rodrigues will be good, I think Pelkas will be our break out star for the season and Kace will be solid and show improvement.

...and as a little history lesson, that feeling of hope and promise some of you are feeling inside is exactly what we were all so excited about what we signed Huub Stevens, who had a plan and a system.  He brought former Ajax and Valencia and Netherlands NT player star Hedwiges Maduro and AZ star Marten Marteens...let's not forget the millions of euros his project is STILL costing us.   Remember Necid, Houssen and every other patsavoura he loaded us with?

My point is that every year we have something different to be excited about.  Whether it's Anastasiadis who knows Greek football, and the way the league works and he's going to bring the passion bla, bla,bla...or Boloni who is a specialist in young talent and our Academies are the best in Greece.....and then we get rid of him in the most disrespectful way.....then we bring in Skatofatsa, which not many of us were excited about.

So, like I said...O PAOKtzis thelei paramethi. All you need to do to get a PAOKtzi excited is give him something to believe in.

Now that the transfer period is over, lets see what PAOK's did.

We got rid of a lot of dead wood and expensive contracts. I think that was the number one goals set by Savvidis when he signed Arnesen.

We made around 10 acquisitions, mostly young players that have a possibility to become good players. As far as I am concerned if only half of those players develop into solid players and starters, than I think this transfer period will be a great success.

The only thing that worries me is the fact that we did not bolster our defense, and that we left Klaus as the only experienced true forward on the team. However that is something that can be fixed in January 2016 if needed.

Since the one big goal for this season has already been achieved (GS of EL and the UEFA money), Arnesen will probably move slowly building the team for the future.
