Out of the question vs Belgium?

                                      Karnezis

Toro (c)          Manolas                Sokratis (vc)         Tzavellas

                                       Petsos

                               Samaris

  Gianniotas                            Fortounis                       Kone

                                        Vellios

Karelis   Mykonos    Mantalos    Fetfatzidis    Who  LW???

Bouchalakis    Tachtsidis   Maniatis

Stafylidis    Oikonomou    Koutroubis

Kapino    Barkas

Even though he hasn't been great for us lateley Mitro has to start.. also Vellios is not good IMO.. I would love to see Kone have a shot and Fetfa on the bench as well as Ninis.. I don't think is would but Petsos in for this game either..

Vellios has been in the goals, I think 6 in fewer matches.  With DM, I prefer Samaris as box 2  box, it then leaves things up to Maniatis, Taxi, Petsos, Siopis or Koutroubis. I went for Petsos as he is mobile, has size and looks composed.

I'd do something like this against belgium

                  Karelis

                  Fortounis

Tachtsi      Samaris         Maniatis

Staf Tzavella Sokratis Manolas Torosidis

                  Karnezis

basically park the bus and hope karelis can get a break away. even though im a mitroglou fan he'll be useless on the break which is 9/10 is the only chance we'll score against belgium.

mitro would be good on a set play tho

kinda similar to how we played against turkey. we saw how useless mitroglou was playing defensive football. his best games are when we're playing highly attacking which is rare vs. romania, costa rica, hungary.

karelis is ambitious and will make tons of runs and he's an engine so he'd be the perfect lone striker. he's not afraid to take lots of shots

mitroglou is a bit of a perfectionist and prefers to really get a perfect strike which makes him not even take the shot as he gathers his feet and gets into position.

K Papadopoulos is a huge loss. I hope that people realize this, not like vs Bosnia, the commentator was mentioning both teams changes to the lineup and injuries, only to skip over the most important absence in Manolas. Embarassing.

This is the team I would choose against Belgium:

 .  .  .  .           Karnezis

Manolas    Oikonomou   Sokratis

                      Samaris

Torosidis  Mantalos  Fortounis Stafylidis

                    Mitroglou  Vellios

It looks risky but it's the right formation. We have to play wing backs. We also need 2 strikers in the box. Fortounis and Mantalos need to stay central and Samaris needs to cover and distribute very well.

Substitutes- Karelis, Tachtsidis and Gianniotas.

that's chill, but they'll kill us on the wings if toro and staf play that high up. they have super fast attackers. faster than anyone on our starting 11

The 3-CB formation is a must, but not to experiment vs Belgium. Wait until KPap is back and that unit will be lethal.

He is absurdly injury prone but he will be available again sooner or later. One healthy game from Kpap is more valuable to the NT than 3 games from most everyone else. So, no, he cannot be ignored.

He will be back playing in January, but will miss Belgium due to suspension. He is elite on the pitch, but his setbacks never allow him to gain any traction for either club or country.

I'd rather have his skill, hunger, instinct, intensity for one game than have other some other players' lackluster performances in 3 is what I mean. Why is that strange to you?

kpaps is a beast. we put the guy in RB and CDM and he was a killer. He has that classic greek golden generation feel.

Let me tell it like it is, shoot from the hip! Will the Pirates get any points vs Belgium? a definite maybe!

KPaps shows a lot of potential although he is overly injury prone. Not a great player yet. Sok and Manolas are the real deal.

I remember watching him play Benfica in the CL when he was with Schalke. He was playing as a def mid, he was everywhere that game.  I remember thinking that he was going to be one of the top defensive players in the game, sadly he has had quite a few setbacks since then.

He was playing like a man at 18, but his setbacks have stunted his grownth.
