The Savvidis family has a hard time keeping their mouths shut. Just makes us even more of a target than usual. George in particular doesn't appear to have any of his father's business acumen; he's the patron saint of rich kids with no brains.

Why do some people have such a low opinion of George Savvidis? He seems to love the club and does as much as possible to promote and give PAOK exposure. Sometimes he is a little too enthusiastic and gets over excited on social media but that's hardly a crime. Maybe he has a past that I'm not aware of but he appears to be harmless enough?

Euro 2020 qualifying play-offsEdit Teams which fail in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying group stage may still qualify for the final tournament via the play-offs. Each league in the UEFA Nations League will be allocated one of the four remaining UEFA Euro 2020 places. Four teams from each league which have not already qualified for the European Championship finals will compete in the play-offs of their league, to be played in March 2020. The play-off berths will be first allocated to each group winner, and if any of the group winners have already qualified for the European Championship finals, then to the next best ranked team of the league, etc.

For each League there will be four play-offs i.e. 16 teams. League A and B have 12 teams ea. Each group winner takes a spot in the semi finals. If the group winner is already one of twenty qualified teams rankings will be used to give the play-off spot to another team of the league e.g. 4 from League B and 8 from League C. So it will be important to try and finish as high as possible to preserve our ranking, It will be interesting to see how it works out.

The EPO should a appoint a new long term coach now and use the last two matches as experimental games to see who he has got to work with and discover our best players possible.Then he should be ready for the Euro qualifications. That's how I'd do it. I'm so tired of the wrong players being picked. This is my big issue with the national team for a long time.

Those are special generational players. Countries like France, Spain, Brazil, etc consistently produce world class players and out of those world class players come a handful of special ones like Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe, Neymar, etc. The reason why is that their country's sports culture, clubs, academies are so refined that they produce a high number of quality footballers. It has little to do with genetics. Greece has somewhat the culture, but the clubs and academies are nowhere near par.

@Dean97 I agree if the new coach in his first game calls up Tzavellas and Tziolis I may be done as well... I'm also hearing the Skibbe might be given the chance to finish the last 2 games which is a big mistake.. I personally prefer a foreign coach but maybe a Greek coach will be an easier transition especially if he is familiar with the our players since we are so close to the Euros.. Realistically they need to find someone within the next week in order for the new coach to be able to be with the team for the last 2 games..

He was a big part of the NT, playing in huge games, scoring and setting up monumental goals. Shame how early and suddenly his career nosedived, but that does not belittle his accomplishments. In my opinion, definitely in Greece's post-2004 XI.

To the people saying that we will never have a player like Messi, Mbappe, etc.. well why not? Look at Croatia, tiny nation yet producing footballers like Modric. Is it because Greeks are genetically inferior athletes? I think not. Football culture in Greece is both defeatist and not conducive to developing those types of players. A change in culture, brought forward by a national academy and proper coaching staff would be able to do great things. If you want to look on a smaller scale, heck look at Iceland! They got to Euro 2016 and WC 2018 because of proper footballing infrastructure developing their youth players.

I wanted Tziolis called up during Ranieris tenure. I guess it was Markarian. Yes, I clearly remember now that he was in the starting XI against Poland which was the last game of Katsouranis for the Ethniki. Katsouranis was the best player on the pitch while Tziolis was... well, good enough. To be fair, he didnt play against Faroe Islands when we lost to them under Markarian. And he didnt play against Hungary.

I am not ready to suggest that Tsavellas and Tsiolis dont care about the team but instead are just past their expiration dates. This team isnt world beaters but could be a solid team that can get a result. However, the margin of error with lack of depth and poor coaching/selections is all it takes to make them a laughing stock.
