Ziaka
After the latest European cup games the UEFA country rankings are as follows: 1 Spain - 67.842 (8/8 left in competitions) 2 England - 55.510 (6/ 7) 3 Italy - 54.186 (6/ 7) 4 Germany - 45.132 (6/ 7) 5 France - 43.755 (6/7) 6 Portugal - 39.833 (3/6) 7 Greece - 33.165 (5/ 6) 8 Netherlands 33.164 (6/ 6) 9 Scotland 30.250 (3/ 4) 10 Belgium 30.000 (4/ 4) Source: Data taken from the UEFA European Cup Football site by Bert Kassies. Greece is in 7th place well behind 6th place Portugal. The 6th place guarantees 2 teams in the groups tage of CL and 1 team in the quelification round of CL for 2006-07 season. We are in danger of losing the 7th place as well to Netherlands. Our teams need to get as many points as possible in the upcoming games, especially in the UEFA Cup. Ziaka
Two teams. The league winner goes directly to group stage, and the 2nd place team goes to CL qualifying round.

Evergreen
Celtic are 9th thanks to Celtic carrying Scottish football in Europe that past 2 seasons as UEFA Cup finalists and UEFA Cup quarter-finalists. Same as Greece being 7th thanks to PAO who has collected almost double points than any other Greek team.
Olympiakosthyra7
If Olympiakos and Panathinaikos progress deeper into the champions league will they change it to 3 teams?
Ziaka
For that to happen we need to finish in 6th place or above. Frankly I don't see that happening. Actualy it is more likely that we will lose 7th place to Netherlands.
Euphoria
Olympiakos' constant first round exits aren't helping us..
Euphoria
any chance of us jumping Portugal this year? What if say, both teams make it to the quarter finals and Porto is eliminated in the group stage?
Irlandos
If Olympiakos and Panathinaikos progress deeper into the champions league will they change it to 3 teams? Unitl AEK build a better team in the future, there will be no point in getting a 3rd club that will only exit twice in Europe.
Ziaka
Well after the latest games this week Greece dropped to 8th place in the UEFA standings: 1 Spain - 69.592 (8/8 left in competitions) 2 England - 56.367 (6/7) 3 Italy - 55.186 (6/7) 4 Germany - 46.132 (6/7) 5 France - 45.041 (6/7) 6 Portugal - 41.166 (3/6) 7 Netherlands 34.831 (6/6) 8 Greece - 34.165 (5/6) 9 Belgium 31.500 (4/ 4) 10 Scotland 31.500 (3/ 4) In order to keep 2 teams in the CL for the 2006-07 European season we need to hang on to the 8th place. For now den iparxi LOGOS :not: na anisixoume, but we need to keep adding as many point to our standing as we can. Irlandos
We are followed by Belgium... As far as I can see, Beveren are out of Europe and so are Anderlecht. Brugge and Standard Liege may be going out as well whereas PAO and Olympiakos will continue in the CL or UEFA Cups. No worries here! B)

Wallofsoccer88
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?...=324715&cc=5901 This sucks for us greeks   . Though the I think the Porteguese have somewhat earned it. I think the 3rd placed team dosen't go anywhere (mabye the UEFA Cup?). I'd be hoping for Dutch teams (PSV and Ajax) to drop and Oly and PAO :gr: to make a formiddable run the the UEFA Cup  . For now, it's all about respect...which has always been lacking for Greek teams in my opinion :nono: :box: . :gr:
