Blackhawk
This will be the second time we will meet Beitar Jerusalem in European competition. First time was in 2000-2001 in Round 1 of UEFA CUp PAOK - Beitar 3:1 Beitar - PAOK 3:
PaokCT
They have a good record at home in Europe. They finished 7th in their league but won the Cup beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-0, and Netanya 3-1. Their star striker is Ion Nicolesceau, the Moldovan who just scored a hat trick to beat Poland yesterday. This won’t be an easy tie.
pash
Thank God it's a team from a hot country. They'll be just as slovenly as we are.
Athens4
I read a comment yesterday telling of a scenario where we do not go through, which means Boto and Lucescu will both be fired. I can see that.
Blackhawk
The goal is to make the group stage. Going through the 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds means nothing if you miss out on the group stage. Firing Lucescu and Boto would cost the team around 9 mil to buy out their contracts.
pash
Bizarre stuff: https://inpaok.com/777735/chamos-sti-beitar-thelei-na-fygei-o-asprigia/ At least he's telling them now! If it were us, we'd learn the day before the game.
PaokCT
“Beitar's fans have become a highly controversial political symbol in Israeli football culture, unofficially aligned with the Revisionist Zionist movement and to the right-wing Likud party. The club, whose fanbase is notorious for its anti-Arab racism and anti-Muslim religious bigotry, remains the only one in the Israel Premier League to have never signed an Arab player, although the club signed four non-Arab Muslim players in the past.”
pash
Hey, as long as they don't hate Greeks this game should go off without a hitch!
Blackhawk
Monday (15:00 EEST) is the draw for the Qualifying Round 3 of the Conference League. That means that we will know our possible opponents if we manage to eliminate Beitar.
Dutch Eagle
If we progress Hajduk is the one to avoid: Group 2 Seeded 1 AZ Alkmaar (NED) 2 PAOK FC (GRE) / Beitar Jerusalem FC (ISR) 3 Beşiktaş JK (TUR) / KF Tirana (ALB) 4 NK Celje (SVN) / Vitória SC (POR) Unseeded 5 HNK Hajduk Split (CRO) 6 FK Željezničar (BIH) / Neftçi PFK (AZE) 7 FK Sutjeska (MNE) / FC Santa Coloma (AND) 8 Balzan FC (MLT) / FC Neman Grodno (BLR)

Athens4
To be honest, what does it matter if it isn't certain that we will beat Beitar.
Blackhawk
As usual worst possible opponent. Might not matter if we don't eliminate Beitar.
paokarag4
FFS we really are cursed when it comes to European draws. By far the hardest possible opponent in our pot. We will also cross paths with Marko Livaja (formerly of AEK) who has ridiculously good scoring record since moving back to Croatia. But of course as Athens points out, it won't matter unless we find a way to get past Beitar. One game at a time, but I am cursing our luck. Dutch Eagle
Was at the dentist for a root canal treatment so could not watch the draw live. Most painfull part of the treatment is definitely finding out the outcome of the draw. We got the one to avoid. They just beated eternal champion Dinamo Zagreb this weekend in MD 1 of the Croatian League. Needless to say we have to beat Beitar first othewise all our comments are meaningless/useless. I mean we had our shot when we beat Benfica and lost to Krasnodar. That was our opportunity. The soccer gods gave us a great draw and we squandered it. Won’t happen anymore
paokarag4
Pick out the one time we had an okay draw, despite yourself mentioning we had to come through Benfica and Besiktas before that to get to Krasnador. Who that season was a top 3 Russian team, not like we 'blew it' to Shamrock Rovers. Regardless atm we are a long way from the bright lights of the Champions League, and face a couple of tricky ties to get the Conference League group stage.
