What's the big deal with Oliveira ?  Should we be happy he could be our next striker ?  His stats are unimpressive to say the least.

Yeah no idea. His numbers, as you say, aren't great (but he did seem to improve in Greece vs anywhere else in his career). Who knows, maybe with a better team around him he'll be more effective.

So it appears we are offering 3 year deal worth around 3.3 mil for the 3 years. This means it's more than the 900K rumor we heard a day earlier. With that money spent by the team it's apparent that he will be our no. 1 striker. Looks like we did not even try to go after Krmencik. The asking price just for purchase was way too much even though the Czechs (Slavia) managed Brugge to drop the asking price to 2.5 mil. With that money plus little extra we got a player on a free transfer. Oliveira is not a bad player. His numbers at AEK are fairly good (better than Swiderski's/Krmencik's) and let's not forget that AEK had a terrible team the last two seasons. let's hope he does better at PAOK.

Panagiotis Tzimas of Asteras Tripolis is close to sign for us. He is 20 years old, plays as a midfielder and is youth international for Greece.

The Giannoulis transfer to Norwich was officially announced today. 7.5 mil to PAOK is on it's way. I believe we have a 20% resale option.

Galatasaray is apparently in the running for Baba Rahman. I am sure they would outbit us, so hopefully the team has a good backup in mind. Really hoping we don't see Vieirinha play a season as left back again.

Geez the Oliveira saga really has dragged on and for a player who I don't think anyone is overly thrilled to be getting. 3.3 million over three years is a huge amount of money, nothing I saw him do for AEK has convinced me he's worth that salary. But apparently Lucescu wants him and on the plus side he knows the Greek League so it shouldn't take him any time at all to settle in.

Lucescu does have a way of getting players to play to their potential. I'll support him if he comes but yeah I'm still skeptical all around.

Aursnes is a DM who currently plays for Molde. I doubt he'd be very expensive, and his contract ends this December.

Apparently we agreed with Parma to loan midfielder Jasmin Kurtic with option to buy. Reports are it's a done deal.

In other rumors Swiderski was renewed for 3 more years, but the news comes from Metrosport which I don't trust at all.

Lucescu LOOOOVES them though. I'm fine with this as long as we don't mortgage our future doing it. We'll probably end up dumping someone like Tsinggaras though. Which would be a shame.

Kurtic will be signed for 2-year loan. Strangely his contract with Parma ends at the end of the loan, so I don't understand why we did not just buy him. Probably has to do with taxes.

Just taking a guess, but perhaps he comes with a hefty wage and Parma is just thankful to get him off their books?

Kurtic is on his way to Thessaloniki to go through the medical tests and sign the contract with PAOK. If all goes as planned he will join the team in Holland.
