Alphonse Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Hung in there for a while but simply put, the team is not for CL, just got not quality of threat in attack when you don’t play with wings, Bayern knew this and we couldn’t do anything
CincinnatiAek Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Losing Livaja for 4 cl games was terrible. Not sure he would have helped tonight but would have made a difference v Benfica. Hoping not to lose by 5+ in Munich.

Definitely if Livaga plays vs Benfica with all the chances they had he would have scored a goal and AEK would have beaten Them especially when Benfica went down to ten men and the pressure was on.
Tzatziki Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 AEK players and staff tried to put up a good fight, but Bayern is just a few levels ahead of this current AEK team, which I think the current coaching staff is doing a good job of fielding a team that is greater than the sum of its parts. If the staff is allowed to work and gets some more help from ownership AEK can be getting results in games like these. Second half the pitch looked smoked out, AEK fans light some flares I guess? Anyone can confirm? The team was warned prior that they would be sanctioned from UEFA if any flares were used...hopefully it will just be a small fine and nothing worse.
Ellada2004 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Bayern 2 AEK 0. Bayern was awarded a cheap penalty on Lewandowski and he converted it for the first goal.
CincinnatiAek Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Lewanflopski is more like it. Bayern was clearly better and deserved to win. 1
Alphonse Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Could only watch first half due to work but sounds like I def watched the better 45 mins from what I’ve read. If only the Lambropoulos header went in at the start
La Mendel Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 This is hopeless, teams in this group are too strong for AEK. AEK is clearly as weak as they seemed to be against Vidi, Celtic and the likes. A Jimenez type coach could perhaps do something, but as long as Ouzounidis is their coach I guess they wont win a single game in the Champions League.
Brklyngrk Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 They are definitely missing something, either way, any team from Greece would struggle. They did play well in the first half, but they always seem to tire afterwards (probably from all that defending)...
CincinnatiAek Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 That was a really bad sequence with the Alef questionable foul, the judgment call handball penalty and send off. Thought they might get a draw but ultimately lost 0-2.
Ellada2004 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 That penalty was a joke and then Barkas miss kick led to the 2nd goal. AEK where playing well up until then.
La Mendel Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Greek soccer is becoming worse and worse. Five games, five losses. Ouzo is an idiot.
Ellada2004 Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 I am a PAO supporter but want to see all Greek sides do well in CL or Europa. I cant stand all these results from AEK to the NT recently and I cant stand to hear the xeni laughing at Greek Football.
Alphonse Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 This campaign is brought to you by AEK management Don’t think I’ve ever felt so at ease that I couldn’t watch much of a UCL match with AEK in it. When you can’t hardly create a chance and watching the other team pass the ball around and pressure you... game in game out, what’s the point. The penalty looked legit to me and Livaja did they handle the ball all he with his shoulder? It was a silly thing do but it’s Livaja, I’m not surprised. We will go 0/6 in a campaign I’d rather forget TBH
Antaeus7 Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 No Greek club should ever play in the Champions League if this trend continues. They are better off competing in the Europa League.
Brklyngrk Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 To be fair, AEK have defended well and were competitive in all the matches. Having said that, AEK has looked like the worst team in the group. Management hasn't helped them at all with benching three starters a few days before the CL and never replacing the guys they lost. AEK were also unfortunately in a tough group. Bayern and Ajax look really good. Benfica look ok but AEK should/could have won that game.
Ellada2004 Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 AEK CL campaign came to an end today with a 1-0 loss to Benfica. Galanopoulos got sent off and they scored soon after that. Tough result AEK deserved a draw.
Tzatziki Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Πρώτη ελληνική ομάδα που μένει στο μηδέν στο Champions League η ΑΕΚ 1
uyenthuy Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Group B is very well. I think Barcelone will win its fifth Champions League this year.
