Bananas Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Our superb away record continues. Instead of bitch slapping these team 3 and 4 nil, we struggle to score. Once again, disappointing.

kozi Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 A few things: We actually scored a legit goal. Midfield - Biesewar is the only guy who is capable of beating players. Shakhov doesn't do it when he's in. Facundo is a striker not an attacking mid. Also I think we should only have the one defensive midfield, not two. Xarisi is worse than Tziolis... Goes sideways too much, gets caught in possession and gives it away too often. We looked much better when Biesewar came on however it was too late.
BostonThanatos Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Oh look! PAO is playing an inferior opponent AND leading 2-0 in the half.....I guess that's what happens when you have a good CF. 4 points dropped in 2 weeks, even after starting at -3. another season down the toilet.
italosPAOK4 Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 this year though the POK (the 3 sisters) is going to lose "easy" points as well
bluevertigo Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Hi everyone, I'm a portuguese fan of greek soccer in general. The best supporters in the world! Do you know where I can download the full match Veria-PAOK? And also other matches from Superleague? I'm not finding any one of this season in Kapaki site. I'm really desperately to "feel" the energy, passion of fanatic fans, and tactics! Thanks a lot.
pash Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Welcome! It's pretty hard to find these if you don't have a hookup for sites (although perhaps someone else here has a suggestion beyond kapaki). I do know the below youtube channel sometimes uploads full games. They haven't been active in a while, however. https://www.youtube.com/user/freepaok4/videos
Blackhawk Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 I don't think our big problem is the CF position. It's the midfield that can't create anything. If we had a creative midfield players, you could put a monkey as CF and score goals. There is no transition from defense to offense. It was so much evident in this game. Some low budget Mexican player managed all by himself to shut down our midfield. Charisis got a chance to prove himself, and was the worst player on the field. Cimirot's every touch on the ball resulted in a mistake. Big difference when Biswswar came into the game. Don't understand Ivic and his decision not to start him. Poor coaching decisions by him in this game. Why not start Kitsiou in his natural position, and instead go with Crespo?
BostonThanatos Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I think Biseswar should be starting. If it's a case of his fitness level then get his ass on the treadmill. The CF wasn't our biggest issue YESTERDAY, but it is our biggest shortcoming overall. Yesterday was a coaching blunder and player underachieving issue...
Bananas Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I think the simple truth of it is that Biseswar is the only player in the middle that can "make the difference". The rest are just work horses. Having Biseswar on the pitch for 90 minutes is important if we want be giving (as we should) teams like Veroia 3 and 4 goals. Hopefully he can get fit. The other player who is class in the middle is Canas. As for Ivic's tactics, I can only assume that he thought with the 11 on the pitch he'd be fine, which I suppose is reasonable. I agree with kozi that we shouldn't need to have 2 DM's in the middle against this sort of opposition. It's a scared cautious approach. Just put them to the sword.
Mitsos Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Gentlemen, for what it's worth, the off-sides call was actually correct. The player in the off-sides position interferes with the defender trying to get back, by the new laws of the game that play is off-sides regardless of where the player receiving the ball was at that time.

The linesman has already admitted his huge "error" and you come here with this patronising explanation lol... http://www.olapaok.gr/podosfairo/omologia-chouskoglou-ekana-poli-megalo-lathos-me-ton-pereira/
Mitsos Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Kozi, I am not here to troll just offering an opinion. Sorry if I offended you but based on the laws of the game he wasn't actually wrong. If you read the link you posted the same is stated at the end, the reason he gave originally.

How do you define interfering? That could be quite a loose interpretation, and taking into account the Greek refs those rules will be applied or not applied depending on what teams are on the field. Looking at the pic I would not say anybody is interfering with Veroia players. The video is even clearer that there is no interference. See the link below at around 1:33 minute mark. http://www.novasports.gr/web-tv/on-demand-player/video/36851/veroia-paok-0-0-hl/#.V_U4jPkrLRY
Mitsos Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Viewing the above picture is what made me look at the video because I could not believe that even a corrupt AR would actually call this play off-sides. The PAOK player (his right foot is touching the white line) causes the player in front of him to react to said player and not make a direct run at the PAOK player that ends up scoring the goal. If you go to 1:00 minute mark of the link below you'll see what I am talking about. By the law of the game the call is correct. Can't disagree with you on the rest of what you say given the state of the superleague. Furthermore, had he not raised his flag not many would have questioned it. http://www.novasports.gr/web-tv/on-demand-player/video/36902/iremia-kai-kataggelia-/#.V_VL88ua2Ag
Blackhawk Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 The way I see it is that it looks like the said player tries to move out of the way (or trying to put himself on side). Does not look like he is deliberately trying block the Veroia player from reaching Pereyra. Being a seasoned ref that you are I'll take your word for this being the wrong call, but I have my reservations about the rule.
Mitsos Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I am not a seasoned official but whether it's deliberate or not does not matter, does he interfere is the question. Let's say a player knowing he is in an off-sides position does not attempt to play the ball but it hits a small rock on the field changes direction and touches the player, the flag must go up regardless of his intentions, right?
Blackhawk Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 That's right in the hypothetical scenario you are presenting. However in this instance nothing even close to that happened. So basically you are saying that if there is a play and there is a player(s) in offside position but they don't influence the play an offside call has to be made all the time. And BTW I have heard otherwise about your exceptional refereeing.

Fair enough Mitsos, let's call it a "very technical interpretation" on your behalf. I have seen the footage over and over and there is no way an individual can process all of that information on the spot. It's not the same as a player in offside position being in the way of the keeper. Not that I could see any interference, but let's just say there was, this "interference" is too far removed to be even considered to be interfering with play. The decision was definitely wrong. Bananas Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 End of the day the 3 PAOK attackers that are past the last defender need to be a bit smarter and try to get on-side anyway. You're just giving the linesman cannon fodder if he's against you, and even if he's not, it's a split second decision he has to make. Why make it any more difficult.

Kozi, I agree that he didn't have time to process the play which is why he reacted to what he saw and raised his flag, in my opinion anyway. Edited October 6, 2016 by Mitsos
