would have to be close to the craziest result in European football for decades.... These mid Serb/ Croat teams are normally garbage.... I would expect them to get hammered by Xanthi. Platanias over two legs?
-
you just confirmed you made no signings apart from the keeper to replace a Gamma ethniki clown...

so smart...that they have made zero signings

South Melbourne Hellas
RED SHERIFF replied to Greekoz's topic in Australian Hyundai A League (ex NSL)
the first half seemed like a very good standard....and high tempo...very watchable football..imagine that in front of 15k? -
I just want to point out to those talking about Russia...and the BRICS.....and other options etc... Do we really want to associate ourselves economically, politically, socially with nations who have a lower GDP per capita than GREECE (Even after 6 years of crisis).....and systems of governance that are based on far more corrupt processes than we could even devise ourselves?

way too slow for UCL
-
Ben is not good enough for Osfp... Jara is a joke....Benitez, Yatabare and Martinez along with a stack of Greek kids will be off loaded.... the idea of going into UCL with Botia, Siovas scares the hell out of me... Someone mentioned PAOK???? Unless they sign 3-4 class players they will be out of Europe by August and Tudor will be i Croatia by October.... at the moment I see our best 11 like this... ........................Roberto.......................... Omar.........Siovas......Botia............Massuaku .......................Milivojevic................ ................Kasami................Dominguez............ Pardo......................................................Fortounis ..........................Fingo............................. Roberto, Mili, Botia, Omar, Kasami, Massuaku might be gone???? we are in deep poo...

what percentage of these kids are children of illegal immigrants and refugees?
-
scored a s%$#! load of goals in two seasons in Holland..Bombed out badly in La Liga......let's see how he goes in GSL? AND UCL?
-
at least they acted swiftly...and not it fester on and create a new clique around Kara....or whoever... We need to separate Kara the captain and Kara the great footballer with Kara's ability to be TD/Manager? maybe he can't... no doubt Kara loves the NT as much as any of us...and wants what is best...he may just no have the ability, personality, and knowledge to translate that across from a Management perspective.

Do you think it would be a good idea to leave NATO?
-
in a bizarre way....the kafeneio brigade want us out of NATO/EU....and Fyrom/turkey in... that way they have more fuel for anti west feelings...and they can then swing the old arguments.. - they are jealous of us - they hate orthodoxy - we should have been in bed with Russia and Serbia earlier - it was all a contrived conspiracy because they want to carve us up..'see told you in 1990 , Yugoslavia was the entree...Greece was the main target'... 'The Franks are always against us...since 1056" etc etc...
-
Afellay was good for us in UCL.....I think we will replace the FBs with inferior....and Goutas, Siovas are big unknowns
-
I'd get rid of both of them
-
we have not bought anything special... as yet.... and we still may lose Roberto, Omar, Mazauku and we don;t have ONE decent striker....And Mili who I don't rate may also be sold... We also lost N'Dinga and Mitro who have not been replaced.... Are Giannotas, Pardo better wide options than Dossevi, Afellay, Durmaz? So where is the improvement so far?? CD is still a disaster... no strikers and midfield is questionable? who will replace Omar and Mazuaku if they go?
-
they just got promoted into Fyrom Div.2.....must be a crappy team to lose 10-1 to Panionios in pre season.....Can't imagine Panionios beating any Greek Div.4 team 10-1.
-
@js1000 i think it is a very simplistic view to think that this is a German plan for 'land grab' and 'asset grab'..... it's another way of us playing the victim.... we have minnows like Slovakia, Latvia and Luxembourg telling us we are a joke......this indicates a major problem with our 'marketability' and reputation.... we are not wanted because we have dug a hole we can't get out of.... every single greek kafeneio debate over the last 60 years has done us harm collectively...as it has made us take our eye off the ball and face our real problems....
-
there is a push for status quo..... a real belief that we have got this crap right and they are all wrong.. hence why we focus so hard on what USA and the west do...and turn a blind eye to Libya, Russia, Saddam etc... there is no will for change..
-
I don't believe the greek media is the key instigator in the left leaning attitude... the culture is entrenched in that way of thinking.....the whole anti west ideology is deeper than media influence...the media is merely a part of society and extension of that thinking.... when you have an education system teaching this dribble we are behind the 8 ball... it's a symptom of why we read here some arguing we would be better off outside the EU....And then can only come up with the fact it would have allowed more Russian tourists and we could sell more dried prunes to Moscow?? If that's what it takes to trade off 'the west' then collectively we are in strife... i heard earlier today in Greek media that opening up 'closed professions' would allow for cheaper priced products and far more competition in the economy...as would Sunday trading hours...the development of Elliniko and Port privatization were also mentioned as good starts... I have been arguing these points for years.... Very simple start that sets the tone for the ball to roll....
-
what division were the blockheads?
-
we only qualified as hosts...and only beat Ukraine and a 0-0 draw at home v Austria.....hardly a top 4 team...
-
@aek66 well said..... if its not panagias doing? its the fault of the evil west because they are jealous of us.....they want to see us suffering.. the Sydney and Chicago based admiration for the Serb food and wine festivals has manifested itself with 100 year old kafeneio talk.. add to it the strong 'left element' in the socio political landscape...Some still talk about 'Balkan Federations'??? I got blasted a few times and branded a junta radical for blaming much of our ills to bitter and twisted grandchildren of the defeated in the civil war... Too many confuse points in history and anecdotal conversations with Zoran and a beer festival.....Zoran may also have a few Skops in the family tree and shares beers with him too....Zoran may also have a cousin Goran from Split in the family they all get along...yet we seem to somehow know what's best....and think the 'brotherhood' will save us.. not sure what I have in common with Boris from Moscow? we don't even celebrate Christmas on the same day...

assist aside (I did not see the game)......Do you think Mysta would get a start given the circumstances... I would have thought Tudor a young Croatian coach with high level Serie A playing experience would have jumped at the chance to play Mysta if he thought he would be a better option? From what you are saying Salpi should have been let go from the Roster.

been waiting for this...3 fires started .. 'Greek Forrest FIRES' ARE THE ULTIMATE 'PROTEST' SIGN FROM THE COMMIES and anarchists.... Notice we haven't had many of these 'events' since Tsipra took over...surprisingly they start now....that Che Tsipara looks to have sold his soul...

I dont think there was anything politically charged or sinister about the starting 11 in Zagreb. Or not picking your best 11... Tudor wanted to make a stance regarding discipline early in his tenure so he dropped Lucas and Pereyra...With Klaus injured he had no choice but to play Salpi.....he needed some experience....He picked Tzavellas and tziolis for the same reasons...believing they would carry the team thru against a sub par opponent... after all if Salpi and Tziolis can't get a game with Klaus, Lucas, Pereyra missing and no big new signings yet then when will they get a game.... This was PAOKs best 11 under the circumstances....
