  1. Geez....never saw this coming...the guy is an absolute nut job....but can finish, scores spectacular goals....although the ALeague is very open and flowing compared to the closed, tight defensive GSL.
  2. @Bananas KKE only get 5%...yes....Syriza though are a direct spin off of KKE...They are simply a 'marketable version of KKE' @js1000 Dutch Eagle has outlined how modern progressive system works and how other nations move forward.... I live in a country that I will work for 40 years and i will not receive a pension.....But the country and its economy is going very well... I am getting the impression that a lot of what we are trying to restore in the name of democracy and sovereignty and the systems that got us in the s%$#! in the first place.
  3. he may have Pontic roots.. but I just find it amusing that a part Ugandan would be in this XI
  4. mother is Belgian born of Ugandan descent
  5. A lot of interesting debate and banter... @koro Greece is not a capitalist country.. @bananas yes ideological ideas are in all societies...in Greece though there is a 'kafeneio' mentality and a hard anti West attitude... very 'ponytail' left approach..straight out of 1975 education....much of it is fueled by Civil war left overs.....just listen to KKE for a few minutes....they go on about WW2 Nazi crimes and Capitalist pigs..etc..these guys have serious Air time in Greek media..and they believe this s%$#!... I didn't know that Metaxas and OXI had an 120 year existence? good way to stir emotions blend 1821 with 1940... I keep hearing about sovereignty and democracy.....a good way to get people emotional....a nice way to deflect and look at Harry Klyn for solutions.... Maybe Harry Potter next week......Harry Mavrias could not defeat Faroe Islands.
  6. time will tell on both fronts... there have been many players from the top 5 leagues who have come and failed in GSL....
  7. you gotta ask the question.... given that Tsipra and Syriza were very vocal several years ago regarding EZ.....Why are they so firm now in wanting to stay in?
  8. the way the public service operates is important and to have ideological questions ob profit v services, is a typical greek diversion tactic...we greeks are masters of this...clouding issues with irrelevant historical skewed bias views.... I am a Public Servant in a senior position who manages staff...I can assure there is a high level of accountability and responsibility... staff are held accountable and expected to uphold certain values.....they are perfmance managed...and when the Union gets involved...there are rules that the union is aware must be followed...there is no mass protests and ideological political grandstanding leading to riots and strikes.. the Greek public service is a totally different beast.. no accountability, not efficient, not streamlined... @bananas unfortunately the geek left v right issue is a major part of this and has controlled the collective psyche of the nation for 60 years....we are still paying for it...
  9. I think it's a fair question?
  10. @js1000 are you claiming the greek public service is more streamlined? effective? efficient? than the British?
  11. why did he play last season for a crappy team that would struggle v Kalloni?
  12. there is a lot of symbolism and idealistic greek mentality behind all of this... sorry to disappoint you, but world leaders and leaders of business do attend meetings....we need to get a grip of reality.. those pics sum up Greek politics and the ideological dribble they believe....stuck in a 1970s essay
  13. we also need to realise that we can't be governed by a bunch of coffee sipping Che Guevara inspired pseudo politicians...these guys are a laughing stock
  14. 1) Iceland has a population 30-40 times smaller than greece 2) it is a far less complex sociopolitical society the two can't be compared.... Greece is broken to the core..... even if we were to default and go back to the drachma, we would become a version of Serbia or Armenia not Iceland. we need to accept the fact that we DO NOT COLLECT enough tax to pay our own bills.....the size if the debt is irrelevant.. no one in their right mind can do business in Greece... a default won't bring reforms to invite investment.... it won't clear the antiquated legal system....the likes of PAME would rule all industrial debates.... we need to understand the fabric of what makes the 'lao' tick......the 'lao' collectively is on the wrong bus.. it's perplexing because as people they are wonderful, articulate, fun loving, warm, hospitable etc... but they just don't get the other bit....
  15. does your mate Kire also think he's Macedonian?
  16. No one is saying corrupt politicians should not be punished... we all applauded Aki and the Thessaloniki Mayoral crew going in for some serious time... the problem I have is that 'Greeks' over simplify the issue.... Politicians stealing 100-200 million is wrong, but this theft has not brought Greece to bankruptcy... there's a false belief that they stole the money therefore I do not get my pension at 47 and now I need to pay more VAT....WRONG Incompetent politicians who did not enforce proper laws, and reform markets 40 years ago, thru fear of upsetting the 'lao' is where it all went wrong... ...the 'lao' demands'...the 'lao ' gets.... what will the drachma and bankruptcy bring us? who will roll back the meaningless 10 year university degrees? there is almost a desire to return to the drachma for the ultimate goal of turning back 'our way of life' to the 1980s....go back to the drachma....run a banana republic and no one will care as we just simply wont matter...after all who really cares that Fyrom has 33% unemployment or that Albania is a s%$#! hole?
  17. second hardest option in that group...
  18. makos is s%$#!.... no idea what changes kara is thinking of...maybe he's the problem
  19. @JS1000 The point is that regardless of what happens we need major reform.... it's ridiculous as to the difficulties one encounters to start a business or to invest.....Institutions that masquerade for Unions like P.A.M.E are a cancer.... The whole education system is controlled by lunatic lefties....people living in a 1970s university essay... 'protection' for closed industries for the mere purpose of survival tied up in incomprehensible legislation...that refer to the constitution....written by 19th century legislators...... total absurdity... a collective that truly believes in meaningless non existent public service jobs, created to support a failed crumbling system.. no accountability, no responsibility.... If the entire debt was written off tomorrow we would be in the same boat in 15 years... there is no political will to improve...focusing on corrupt politicians is diversion from real issues..
  20. he has been called up in squads...... however one can understand why Taxi, Samaris, Kone are favored as they have played at higher levels... I think Petsos did struggle at club level some 12-18 months ago.
  21. I think the problem is the midfield......and our inability for quick transition and to break with speed and purpose...not having great strikers does not help.... if we had Lewandowski we probably would have 8 more points as we would have beaten FI x 2 and Hungary.....but this would only mask our problems..... we have good footballers in the midfield and wide options...Taxi, Samaris, Ninis, Kone, Fortounis, Fetfa, Mavrias, Petsos, Mandalos etc are decent players...the problem is that they are not a good 'combination'..... in any given match we need 5 of these players in the 11.....they do not compliment each other enough to be a functional formation no matter how they are deployed... these guys would be far more effective if the midfield included players like a Galletti, Chori, Djordjevic, Leto, Stelios, Zagorakis, Gilberto, Mirallas for example....Samaris , Taxi and Fortounis would be great if they were flanked by Galletti and Djole/Leto/Mirallas....instead of Ninis and Fetfa.. Ninis and Fetfa would be great if they had Chori, Zagorakis, Gilberto.... Hence why the more successful Greek clubs in their European runs go out and sign players of this caliber who make the difference
