  1. Dourmaz preferred over Berg for their Euro game...... Better off... keep berg rested

  2. Why do you think Santos left when he did? Once he saw that Kara and co. were finished, he knew it was time to call it quits. He took a look at the mykonos generation coming through and ran the opposite direction.

  3. Papasta won the argument but still lost another match again. The commentator mentioned many chances not being put away. The truth cut deep Papa.

  4. They do not like them because quite frankly they are extremely overrated by people like you. We have about 7 years of history on Ninis and Fetfazinho. We know who they are and they aren't that much. They are extremely inconsistent players who never turned out to be what everyone expected or hoped for.

  5. Well yes, our defense has been weak in the second quarter

  6. Blaming club ties is not the way to go. The guys must look in the mirror and take it upon themselve.they are being weighted down by an amateur coach right now...you hav nothing to lose and you start retreads like Tziolis and Vyntra...no way this stinks EPO..you wanna make a splash because you only 1 chance at a 1st impression..Tsanas is no good period. vs Romamia ...............Kapino................because when was the last big sav Karnezis made! Sokratis...Manolas....KPaps....Holebas....your best players play if they are CB play them!we must go 3 CBs in the future ...........Taxi......Samaris....... Fetfa........Fortounis....Fountas (bleed him) ..............Mitro................ after this game we should never see Tziolis Vyntra...and we should find a manager whose bread and butter is 3-5-2..we have 3 world class CBs and 0ne sat on the bench for Vyntra..bravo

  7. Let's not put unrealistic expectations on karelis. The guy is not blessed with a great first touch or dribbling ability. He simply utilizes his pace and upper body strength well and has simultaneously made a living at the expense of slow defenses. His finishing is awkward at best. He is a typical example of the direction the game is heading. Physique over technique. He is not completely useless though because if you use him as a poacher, so as little contact with the ball as possible, he can keep defenders on their toes with his movement. When you stick him on the wing, what do you expect?

  8. We shouldn't be bringing our clubs into this. You put that aside when the ethniki plays. They're making us ALL miserable. Olympiakos fans, AEK fans, PAO fans, PAOK fans, ALL Greeks.

  9. Grkfreezer I don't know if mitroglou and Samaris are "tearing up" Portugal. Sure, they have a goal each but when they put on the ethniki shirt they play like amateurs. Samaris and mitroglou were horrible today. Not news to me anyways, they've been like that the whole campaign

  10. Highlights are here. don't know how long they will remain up though... we had +5 chances that would have been sheer goals - just a matter of inches. (as sokratis said, we had very bad luck) I would've appreciated less audacious attempts and at least test the keeper a bit instead of going for the highlight real at first though.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrhNe61Cgmc

  11. After such a debacle there are posters who try to find excuses for the young & useless tits and to blame Tziolis and Vyntra for everything. *facepalm* Vyntra was a necessary choice because of Torosidis' absence. In defense he hadnt much work, he tried to go forward and create chances as Torosidis does but he isnt so strong at that. Both of them were average, and clearly they didnt were the worst in the team. Hint: It was totally useless to start (or call up) Aravidis, a second Mantalos choice. Karelis shot for all directions, it was hilarious. I didnt understand why Fountas was subbed in instead of Fetfatzidis. Tsanas is totally incompetent (that could be said after the Serbia match too) and should be replaced... perhaps EPO can select a proper head coach at the third attempt after Ranieri and Markarian.

  12. I thought the commentator was bang on. Bravo tou, showed balls. Sokratis was talking s%$#!. I like him, but the atmosphere has long been poisoned now and sokratis himself is part of the 'klika'.

  13. Nothing against sokratis, but I'm with the commentator on this one. You can see that he's frustrated, just like we all are and have been since the start of this campaign. We didn't have a single CLEAR chance in this match. The team played better today, but unfortunately the results speak for themselves. No excuses...............

  14. Really? Funny, I saw plenty of Oly guys this campaign, very few PAO guys... And last I saw, EPO does Oly's bidding (showcase Oly players so proedrara can make $$$ of sales). Fancy that!

  15. Its painfully obvious these guys will not get a win this campaign. I said it before we are done for a long long time. Our midfielders warm the benches for Italian minnow clubs and our messiah who was supposed to be the next Messi is playing in Saudi Arabia. Yeah i understand we cant score but how they let these guys get a goal on home soil is inexplicable. I used to get some joy at bashing the Otto/Katsourani/Karagouni/Santos haters but at this point its not even fun anymore. This is beyond beyond embarrasing

  16. What's more astonishing about this campaign is that when you feel like it's hit bottom they just keep going. Losing is one thing, but to not score, again, and at home popo. My god. This team needs to find quality attacking players and a goalscorer fast and sort itself out in a big way before WC qualifying or this could be only the beginning of a very long period absent from tournament football.

  17. This is exactly what the UN was created for. To stop situations like this. But in truth, it is a weak organisation that has mostly been used by the 5 nations that have veto power, to further their own ends. I don't think a lot of people realise the situation in Syria. It's Muslims vs Muslims. Shia vs Sunni. Hezbollah vs Isis vs Kurds. It's a mess. Why are they trying to kill each other ? Why is there so much hatred over religious issues ? As long as religion is a driving force for a nation, you will always have the potential for this. And it's not going to stop without some sort of outside intervention. If you just leave it to play out, things will continue as they are only worse. The UN/EU either have to get in there with troops, or pick a side and arm them to the teeth to end this. The EU should have been more pro-active from a few years ago. The situation in Syria is close to them, but they chose to bury their heads in the sand thinking it'll all be fine and it won't affect them. And now that it has, their best solution is knee jerk reactions. Let the country where the refugees land deal with it. Yep, no problem with that. Call me cynical, but now that Greece, Skopje and Serbia allowed the refugees to get closer to Germany, all of a sudden Hungary gets "hard core" with the refugees. More like as Germany saw they were getting closer, Germany either put the hard word or offered "incentives" to Hungary. That's their best solution so far. Cool, good luck with that. I will agree on one point that many posters bring up, and that is why don't the Syrian refugees stay in Turkey ? I find it odd that they wouldn't prefer to stay there. It's not like Turkey is a 3rd world economy. They would be safe, which should be their key concern, and there is a religious and "cultural" similarity between them. Sure, Germany is a better option, but do they really think they'll get there easily ? I wonder what role Turkey is playing in this. To other posters that say "just let them drown". It's easy to say that, and then you see the images of little Aylun Kurdi, and you think, what have we become ? We have to be better than that.

  18. Didn't see that one coming. Wacky starting lineup. Despite the injuries I'd started Manolas still as CB kpaps as cdm Playing feftfa would've been good too. It's hard to pinpoint this campaigns failure on a major thing - it's many little things that accumulate to make our squad rubbish. 2 things that come to mind is we need to enhance team chemistry. 2nd we need to try to play ballsy attacking football. MAX 1 DM the rest forwards. We might as well start doing this now that we're out as an experiment.

  19. Hate to say it but we were all wrong about Santos, he had us over achieving no doubt now. Would kill to have him back as well as a fit katsou and kara. These guys played with passion. I mean FFS Tziolis? The guy has been proven to not be good enough many a time. We need to bite the bullet and build for the future.

  20. What happened to paixtaras Fortounis? I thought he was gonna score 10 goals today, half of those using his hands. Its ok, he'll do it against Platanias kai o proedros tha ton poulisi 50 ekatomiria. Trelane mas proedre!!

  22. That between 2004 and 2014 was our Golden Generation under our best head coaches (Rehhagel, Santos) ever.

  24. Unless EPO is cleaned up from the top to the bottom and drastic changes are made in the structure of the national teams, we will unfortunately have to accept the fact that we will have a pre-Euro 2004 mediocre team. And once in for all make the national team the team for all Greeks. Not a team run by and for managers and agents.

  25. Here in UK we've already taken loads of refugees from Somalia in the past, but they've struggled to integrate with the natives and the more established Caribbean immigrants too, so the Somali's live in their own segregated areas now. Same thing would probably happen if Syrian refugees were taken in too. Millions of people will always want to come to Europe for a better life, there is always poverty and nearly always war somewhere too. It would be great if Europe could save loads of refugees from Syria or wherever and then everything would end happily ever after. But in reality such a migration would only benefit those that go to Europe and get a better life, while the war/poverty remains in the Middle East and Europe has a new set of problems associated with accommodating for the refugees. European leaders have to think long term. There are already social and racial tensions associated with non-European migrants and Muslims, this will only increase with more refugees. Europe is also very densely populated and unsustainable environmentally, something immigration would only worsen.

  27. Hi there, Greetings from Bulgaria! My name is Ivo, big fan of Berba for a long time now. I've been "following" him wherever he goes and I am glad he went to PAOK, only 4 hours drive away from Sofia. :) You can expect many Bulgarian fans now, not only online, but most probably at Toumba too. Saw some of the live stream from the stadium today and I must say I am quite impressed - not only by the amazing warm welcome from the fans but also by the work from the club which developed Berba related branding at Toumba, made Tshirts available for pre-order, updated the player's profile on the website and all that in practically no time! Wow! I hear that Mr. Savvidis really wanted him - Berbatov is a kind of guy that needs to feel wanted and special, so I think that's the reason he joined in, not because Aston Villa offered less cash. How did Berba do today? He seemed happy and honest to me. Although, that "we are brothers" part was a bit too much, perhaps - I know you guys don't really see us as brothers and I get it. When I go on holidays to Chalkidiki, I am usually ashamed of the particular Bulgarians that go there. :) Anyway, Berba is a different story, I am sure he'll do great things here and make us all proud. Your expectations must be quite high taking into account the 1.6 million + bonuses that you are paying. In his last season with Monaco, he got even slower with age but hopefully his other skills will compensate that. He's never been a runner, after all. He's known for his finishing abilities yet you will see that he's even more useful for building attacks - always taking the right decisions. Being clever on the field is his biggest strength, if you ask me. Sorry for the long message. Here are some of my favourite Berba gifs as a reward for reading all that:

  28. It's too soon to tell, but so far I like the guy, although he IS inexperienced. Dealing with different personalities is just as important as tactics....and with a star coming to the team, he's gonna have his hands full.

  29. He will absolutely tear it up in that league. This is a suitable punishment for him, and him signing an extension with us implies either some payoff next year, or a rehabilitated player to further help us.
