Dutch Eagle Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 The draw for EL Q1 and Q2 was held today. PAS will face the winner of Odds BK (Norway) against IFK Mariehamn (Finland) on July 14th and 21st in Q2. PAS will start with a home game. Q3 must be possible by strenght. The fact that those Scandinavian countries are in the middle of the season and PAS in preseason could be a big disadvantage.
Akritis_1944 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 True. Also has the PAS squad even been finalized? They sold Manias so they need reinforcements. PAS would technically be better than both but as you say those teams are in the middle of their seasons. We need all Greek teams to progress as far as they can for the co-efficient points.
RED SHERIFF Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 PAS have a weakened squad.... Manias, Ilic gone too...
pash Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 They need to make some moves this summer if they want any hope of making it to the group stage. This first round shouldn't be that tough for them; it's the playoffs that will hurt. I've read that they're looking for loans of a few marginal PAOK players (Antonis and Sabo), both of whom have the potential to be better than most of their current options...
PAOKSYD Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Whole team has gone. They have had some good players over last few years. But who is left atm?
Dutch Eagle Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 They somehow managed to get 25 players: http://www.sport24.gr/football/omades/PasGiannina/me-25-paiktes-sto-karpenhsi-o-pas.4136245.html
Dutch Eagle Posted June 27, 2016 Author Posted June 27, 2016 Christos Donis will go to PAS on loan-basis.
Ethnikos Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Let's see if PAS Giannina can go against the Odds and accomplish Europa League qualification 3
Dutch Eagle Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Tonight PAS will play a friendly against APOEL in Cyprus. A good experience for their European games later on.
Ethnikos Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 http://www.sdna.gr/news-english/article/220328/christopher-maboulou-and-pedro-conde-join-pas-giannina PAS actually making some good signings Pedro Conde https://youtu.be/mWk6MYOYH5g Christopher Maboulou https://youtu.be/L0DbmZhR3bE https://youtu.be/HwoBnx6TR1s https://youtu.be/sETLRVnvIu4
Dutch Eagle Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Mariehamn - Odds 1-1 therefore PAS will play the Norwegians in Q2.
PAOKSYD Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 I hope for a full stadium tonight a win for PAS. Greek soccer needs it 1
Akritis_1944 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 They are junk but they are in season whereas PAS has been ridiculously slow in sorting their squad and preparating for these matches. Let's not see a Celtic result here.
Akritis_1944 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Yes I actually used the word "preparating". I is a genius.
Dikefale11 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Up 2-0 at HT Early coefficient points on the board for Greece!!
Dutch Eagle Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Need to avoid the away-goal. Not many points though as points are limited per Q-round for the clubs and only half for the countries.
Dutch Eagle Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 FT 3:0 Bravo PAS! Goals Michail and Acosta (2)
pash Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Do teams get bonuses for victories/draws in the qualifiers? I can't remember
RED SHERIFF Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 well done PAS.... But i question the quality/standard of these Scandinavian teams...Atromitos smacked a highly rated AIK Solna 1-3 this time last year... I reckon outside Copenhagen, Rosenborg,Malmo the standard seems to drop off dramatically.. remember July would be a terrible time for any Greek team to be prepared... especially battler teams like PAS/Atromitos..
Dutch Eagle Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 PAS will be in de drawing pot with the unseeded and will face one of the next clubs: AZ Alkmaar (NED) Krasnodar (RUS) Partizan (SRB) or Zaglebie Lubin (POL) Sassuolo (ITA) Rio Ave (POR) Omonoia (CYP) or Beitar (ISR)
Dutch Eagle Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 AZ Alkmaar - PAS if PAS advances (which is 99% sure).
