60' still 0-1 Germany.

At this point we are still in the lead in the group but getting a point here is massive.

And there's the 0-2. Eerily looking results with the senior team when the group is ours for the taking and we squander it at home.

All we needed was a tie. Still 3 games left in the campaign. We win them all and 2nd place is ours. First place is out of reach as the Germans will not drop any points.

Very solid (and entertaining) game away vs Georgia today, 0-3 win. We are likely heading to the playoffs as the second place group, though the first placed team of the group of 2nd placed teams (that's a mouthful) will get direct qualification too. Right now that's Italy and we are level with them on points.

So we want either Germany to drop the ball vs Malta and/or Georgia or Italy to drop points vs Poland and/or Armenia (and of course, for us to beat both Latvia and Northern Ireland).

Tomorrow U21 plays the last game in this qualifying stage of the competition. We face Northern Ireland in an away game and we need to win by 2 goal margin to automatically qualify to the finals of U21 EURO 2027.

The other way to automatically qualify is to beat Northern Ireland and Germany does not beat Georgia, which is highly unlikely. 

At a minimum we have secured a playoff spot and have a chance to make the finals through the playoffs, but the easiest way is to win  tomorrow by 2 goal margin.

Just could not do it against a weak Northern Ireland team. Only 1:0 win which was not enough to qualify to the final stage. We have one more chance through a play off contest. We just like to make it hard on our selves.

Turkey

 

Obviously I would love to play Finland, Iceland, or Ireland. But with our luck we will get drawn with the Dutch

Well hopefully all their best youngsters are with the senior team already.

I will look forward to watching these games though - we are too thin in too many positions to not need to hope for a breakthrough from one of these guys. Chatsidis, make me proud!
