Some players are already taking the legal options to get their wages after the club failed to get a Superleague license. The thing is that the presumed owner Spyros Papathanasakis either ran out of money, or the source where he was getting income has been cut off. I was always skeptical about a guy from Toronto that no one has ever heard about before he was placed as the AEP Iraklis owner. How did a person who owns a pub, is the director of non-profit youth center, and ran as a school board trustee all of a sudden took over a professional team in Thessaloniki? On top of that the Autonomous Thyra 10, the fan club has a lot of power influencing decisions made at the club. And from what it appears they have now turned against Papathanasakis.

Seriously someone put iraklis on some exclusive forum for sale aome russian, arab, azebajianni, chinesse guy vould walk in a get a bargain and in turn spend his summer son chlakidiki

First of all they are the only team that did not receive a license, which means that can only make limited transfers. The team owes something like 900K to taxing authorities, and any transfers they make will not be approved if they don't take care of this debt. They also owe back wages to most players from last season. As part of the "non-license" they will be evaluated on quarterly basis to make sure they took care of those debts. If they don't take care of this each evaluation will bring with it punishments, such as monetary fines, point deductions, and eventually expulsion from Superleague. In the meantime, Papathanasakis has moved from Thessaloniki to a hotel in Athens, and with the help of Marinakis managed to sell Vellios to Nottingham. So far none of the 1.2 mil from that sale have gone to the team in order to take care some of the outstanding issues.

If it belongs to the club, and it can't be accounted for, then it's missing or stolen. I don't understand why this is so difficult. 1

Also there are only 9 franchises for a 'closed ' league..with very small in relative terms budgets..

Instead of having the likely scenario of iraklis not finishing the season due to this fraud papathanasakis who only his mum knew him before iraklis

They both gave the blessing to Papathanasakis to own the team. However don't forget that this is Greece, where everything is corrupt, so it's not surprising for crooks to be able to own sports teams.

John catsimidis has a big ego. The greek kid who bought playboy mansion. Surely someone in greece could work on comission and make it happen. Epo needs to head hunt a couple of sale agents for this stuff. Soudns crazy but happens in business why not in greek football to outside the box for them.....
