  1. Speed kill and we are starting to see that. Imagine if half of those shots we took were closer to the goal. As they develop chemistry and improve, I can see better results. Also we do have more guys to call up. I am liking the new coach and loved his press conference. A Bosnian reporter asked him that he felt that Greece wasn't even on the pitch until the penalty, what were his thoughts. He answered, well, that's his opinion, he's entitled, but if he wants, he can go back and look at the video to see what happened.
  2. I am hoping the coach is learning as well. He seems to be able to make adjustments.
  3. Overall, I really liked the team these two games. Masouras/Siovas/Donis really impressed, something to build on going forward. Wouldn't be surprised to see a three man back line. We can finally have speed to counter with Masouras/Donis and hopefully Lambrou. Vlaho is our keeper for the next 10 years, he will only get better. We took more shots on goal these past two games than we did the entire campaign the last time out. We looked more energetic and hustled, while our finishing is lacking, it will improve.
  4. The one thing I will say about the way they play is that this version of the ethniki def hustles more than the one from the past campaign..
  5. Stopped watching after 20 minutes, started listening on the radio.....afraid to go back on line to watch the end....
  6. Vlaho is a good gk...as anyone in Portugal, they think he is one of the best in their league.
  7. Greece looked shaky, but to be honest, both goals were of the fluke variety. The 1st one was a block off Zeca where it went right to a Bosnian player. The next one was off a free kick. They completely outplayed us in the opening 20 minutes but we have calmed down and slowly getting our footing. I wonder if he makes any changes.
  8. He's playing defensive and hoping to counter with Donis all alone....If chasing a goal, he can add Masouras/Koulouris. I would have liked to see Masouras - Koulouris - Donis.
  9. I guess it's a 4 3 3 Bakakis Siovas Sok Koutris Kourbellis Samaris Zeca Fortounis Donis Bouchoulakis
  10. yes - it's an odd line up, not sure what to think of it... Vlachodimos (GK) 2Bakakis 5Siovas 6Bouchalakis 8Zeca 10Fortounis 15Donis 19Papastathopoulos (C) 21Kourbelis 22Samaris 23Koutris
  11. Currently tied 1-1. England is losing 1-0 in the other game. Our gk got hurt, had to sub him out, both games are at HT.
  12. So many formations being floated....I've seen Masouras - Koulouris - Donis. I've seen Masouras - Fortounis (false 9) - Donis. Donis up top with fortounis right behind him. So basically, we do not know.
  13. The competition he plays against week in and week out is miles ahead. Getting marked by Hummels is different than getting marked by anyone in the superleague...
  14. Just looked around on some of the other games, Ireland beat Gilbratar 0-1. Italy beat finland 2-0 but Finland had the same number of shots on goal as Italy.
  15. Was impressed by Siovas/Kourbelis - not so much for their defending bc they didn't have much to defend (did their job when they had to) but their ability to bring the ball up and their passing was good. Masouras wasted so many chances but he's fast and got to the ball, eventually they will fall in. Bakesetas took one shot from far out and you could see the coach cursing at him. Overall, Greece did what they had to, Masouras/Donis on the wings give us potential to counter. You will be able to see their potential more with teams that attack. The one time we countered, they were so quick out there and brought the ball down the pitch so fast (we didn't score but still, you can see the potential).
