  1. It's not two other friendlies. It's only one and it will take place on July 4th, only two days after the team arrives in Holland. It's probably a team of guys who meet before and after the game at some pub for a beer and go out to play a game football.
  2. I doubt anything will happen to Veroia. After all how is it possible to fix a match with exact score (3:0), and only one team is involved in the fix?
  3. Looks like one of the pre-season friendlies will be against Club Brugge.
  4. Sadly, I also believe this is the case. When this goes to trial, it will drag on for years, and eventually some low level guy (such as Sarris, Zografos, etc.) will take the fall and the big fish will find a way to get away with it. Just remember that in 2011, Beos and Psomiadis were actually arrested and were held in prison before the trial. Now they are free and Beos is a mayor of Volos.
  5. FC Vaduz or Dudelange would have been a good draw.
  6. Not sure if I believe the Tzavellas news. Veroia might not be playing in Superleague next season, so I really doubt that Tzavellas would risk going to that team right now. I like the possible Olsen acquisition. If I remember right he played against Olympiakos in the CL last season. I think he will be a solid signing. The other rumors are Juan Manuel Vargas from Fiorentina. After all he scored against PAOK at Toumba so he is qualified. Also Udinese is supposedly interested in Kace. Arensen will have a press conference on Thursday. I expect that by then there will be some official announcements concerning players.
  7. I would like the Welsh as well. They consist of semi-professional players and will be quite easy to overcome. Lokomotiva is the Ergotelis of Croatia considering that they have 11 players on loan from the Olympiakos of Croatia: Dinamo Zagreb. Lokomotiva is the team that our current coach beat in the final of the Croatian cup. He also beat them 5:0 in the league game away. Tudor should know how to handle them. The question is what will PAOK do. If we play like we did in the recent playoffs, I see us having a difficult time with Lokomotiva Zagreb. We could have had an easier draw.
  8. I don't think Qose will be leaving. He will most likely be loaned out.
  9. me and pash have been recommended to the powers that be to assign the two of us as the mods of this forum. We just have to wait now for the approval. Also, thanks to Dutch Eagle for offering his services. We might need you down the line.
  10. Five PAOK players will represent Greece in the U19 European Championships finals that will take place in Katerini, Veroia and Larisa in July: Nikos Vasaitis Timotheos Tselepidis Stylianos Pozoglou Efthimios Koulouris Panagiotis Deligiannidis
  11. Players have been notified to report in Thessaloniki on June 26, 2015. They will undergo medical tests before heading to the training camp in Arnheim, Holland at the beginning of July. The team will play 2 or 3 pre-season friendlies while in Arnheim. It is quite possible that the team will travel directly from Holland to the venue of the first Europa League game if the first game will an away fixture.
  12. The Croatian Igor Tudor is PAOK's new coach. He signed a 3-year deal (1+2) worth 240,000 Euro per season. His only coaching experience is coaching Hajduk Split for 1 season, winning the Croatian cup. He was a successful player with Juventus Torino.

  14. Apparently we are considering the Swedish goalie Andrreas Isaksson who currently plays for the Turkish Kasimpasa.
  15. Over 2 million fans participated in the team celebration. I went downtown, and it was a crazy. Never got near Soldier Field, which would have been useless anyway since I did not have tickets to get in. Still enjoyed the experience.
  16. So is anyone willing to help me out with mod duties?
  17. I think starting next week we will start seeing players decisions, be it new players and players that will be leaving. I am sure there will be changes, but I don't expect that there will be drastic cuts. I think things will move slowly. More cuts will happen in the Winter transfer window, and by the start of the 16/17 season I expect a revamped team.
  18. That was just BS spread by the types of Ksorkismenos, etc.
  19. Apparently Igor Tudor is in Athens to meet with Savvidis. Looks like we might be close to getting a new coach.
  20. We definitively need to do good in Europe this season. At a minimum reach the group stage of Europa League. The 53rd place rankings are thanks to the points we accumulated in the last 5 years of the European participation: 2010-2011: 10.520 points 2011-2012: 11.520 2012-2013: 2.380 (thank you Donis - NOT) 2013-2014: 10.220 2014-2015: 6.240 --------------------------- TOTAL: 40.880 Next season we will lose the 10.,52 points from the 2010-11 season, so it will be very important to do well this season, so we don't fall behind. If we reach the group stage and get as many wins as possible, we should be able to get close to 10.000 points.
  21. PAOK defeated Aris 77:76 in the fourth game for 3rd-4th place basketball playoffs and ended the season in 3rd place.
  22. I think the most pressing thing was to take care of the debt. Now that this was taken care off, I think the planning for refurbishing Toumba will start.
  23. I would have to assume that the same restraining order against Saris will also be applied to Marinakis. Specially when his request to delay things was nor accepted. With that in mind, it will be important that UEFA gets an immediate report on the situation, so they can take action and the rest of the Greek teams in European competition can benefit. This is what happened two years ago to Fenerbahce and Metalist. Once UEFA saw that the officials from those teams were indicted on corruption charges, their teams got punished. It's no wonder that there was a surprise meeting today between Alafouzos, Savvidis and Melissanidis to discuss the upcoming Superleague season. It will be an interesting summer, but I think that eventually Marinakis will get off after many years of appeals.
