  1. PAOK really gets screwed up with the dates of the playoffs. I really don't understand why Superleague waits for 10 days to start the playoffs. Tell me the reason why the playoffs don't start on May 13 or at the very least May 17. I would really hate to be the team that finishes last in the playoffs since they will only have 3 weeks of rest before they have to play in European competition. PAOK gets screwed because Noboa has to leave for Copa America on May 23 and will only play one game in the playoffs.
  2. Tziolis will most likely not play in this games as well.
  3. Superleague and Nova Sport extended their current contract for exclusive broadcasts of Superleague games in Greece until 2019. The deal is worth 34 million Euro per year. Two teams did not vote for this extension, PAOK and Panathinaikos, and will be free to negotiate their own deal after 2017.
  4. We are linked to Chavez from PAS Giannina according to rumors. Few times I watched PAS play this season, he was pretty good. However that does not mean he would do good at PAOK.
  5. Missing this game for sure will be Noboa, Athanasiadis, Mak, Costa and Salpiggidis. There might be more. This should give the coach the chance to play some of the youngsters on Sunday. I would expect to see Pouggouras, Savvidis and Pozoglou in the lineup. What I am afraid is that the team will not take this game seriously and let Panionios play their game. Panionios will do anything to get points from this game. I see this ending in a tie.
  6. ^^^ Well he does have a big decision to make which one of his puppet teams to save. Panionios or Levadeiakos? A lot also depends on Panopoulos, if Xanthi will play hard against Panthrakikos or if he will rest his team for the cup final. Should be an interesting Sunday.
  7. Korovesis confirmed in an interview that he will sign a 3-year contract with PAOK.

  9. The Atromitos - Panionios game was interrupted because of a banner having something to do about the corruption in Greek football. I think it will be tough to keep 2d place as we are playing Panionios that desperately needs at least a point. I think Panathinaikos will easily beat Giannina. If we do manage to win, and Atromitos ties or loses to Kalloni, than we will start the playoffs with 3 points. As for the relegation game, six teams are involved and could possibly clinch the last relegation spot. Should be an interesting last round of the regular season.
  10. Great Hawks taking a 2:0 lead going into Minnesota. If we steal one there we should be in good shape.
  11. For you guys in Boston and Toronto as well mark your calendars. The 2004 NT veterans that won the Euro plans on playing friendly games against the Portugal veterans in June. PAOK will be represented by Georgiadis and Papadopoulos.
  12. I meant Cercle instead of Lockeren. It sucks that you can't edit your own posts.
  13. Looks like Deportivo and Lockeren will be relegated. That means that both Lucas and Martens are returning to PAOK. Remains to be seen what PAOK does with them.
  14. Tzavellas should have been dealt with by the front office, when he was creating problems in the dressing room. Anastasiadis benched him, but the front office refused to do anything about the situation. The same day Anastasiadis was fired, Tzavellas came back to the team with the blessing of the front office. And he was not the only one creating issues in the dressing room. It is no wonder the team just colapsed after December.
  15. My guess at a lineup for Sunday: -------------------- Itandje ---------------- Skondras - Costa - Tzavellas - Rat Golasa --- Noboa --- Kace --- Mak ---- Papadopoulos -- Koulouris ---- I think it's about time that Mak had a good game.
  16. Just when the Bucks thought they could get back into the series, the Bulls handed them a 54 point difference blow yesterday. Giannis Antetokounmpo got eject from the game after a hard foul on Dunlevy. He played well in the previous games except for the first one. Now we face Lebron and Cleveland. Go Bulls !!!
  17. I don't know if I woul bet on winning this game. Levadeiakos needs points and EPO is sending Mitsios (remember the Kalloni game?) to help get them. If we play the same as we did against Giannina, we will have problems. We should have an incentive to finish ahead of Panathinaikos in the standings just in case Olympiakos gets punished by UEFA as is being mentioned by some of the press. That's why the result against Giannina was bad. Now we have to hope Panathinaikos loses points in the last two games.
  18. Klaus and Vitor will miss the game due to cards. Salpi is still not ready, but Maduro is.
  19. PAS can sell players, and they sold Charisis and Korovesis to PAOK, so they could cover expenses in order to get the license. Apparently there is one more player that was sold according to their owner. As I said they can sell players, but they will be limited to who they can sign. I think last season it was 3 players under the age of 23.
  20. Since this week all the Superleague games take place at the same time (19:00 GR), television coverage will be spotty for us outside of Greece. In Greece all the games will be live on the various Nova Sports channels. In US, Canada and Australia Antenna Satellite/Pacific will show the Kerkyra - Panathinaikos live and PAS Giannina - Ergotelis on tape. Sport Plus will show all games live via multi game coverage, switching between games as needed. After the games finish they will show four games on tape: Veroia - Panthrakikos (1:00 pm CDT) Xanthi - Tripoli (3:00 pm CDT) PAOK - Levadeiakos (5:00 pm CDT) Olympiakos - Kalloni (7:00 pm CDT) For complete details see here: http://home.earthlink.net/~ziaka/GreekSoccerTVSchedules.htm
  21. It's due to finances. This license was for next season, but also counts for the current playoffs. Instead of the team not being able to compete next season, they will probably be allowed to play, but not be able to make transfers like the teams did this season. Same goes for Panthrakikos and Panionios.
  22. PAOK - Olympiakos 3:0 PAOK takes the series 3:0 on games and is the new Greek champion in volleyball. Bravo to the team that won the double in the sport this season.
  23. You can watch the 3rd game o the finals here: http://www.laola1.tv/en-int/live/paok-thessaloniki-vb-olympiacos-piraeus/325295.html Not the best picture though.
