  1. In the Vryzas case it was not about getting chances. Vryzas had to be part of PAE PAOK until the debt of the team was cleared.
  2. PAOK's woman's soccer team qualified to the final of the Greek Cup where they will meet Odysseas Glyfada on Sunday in Katerini. If they win the cup, they get another double.
  3. That's not when the punishments will be handed out. That's the date that he will be answering questions in front of the prosecutor. After that the prosecutor will decide if the case will go to court or not. Even if the prosecutor decides to charge him, the case will drag out for years.
  4. I think the first thing that our forum needs is a moderator that will take care of business editing and formatting the threads on timely manner. Make a suggestions on your choice for a PAOK mod. My recommendation is pash
  5. Use this thread to bring up issues and suggestions concerning PAOK forum.
  6. Saw a report today that said Levante wants to buy Golasa from us. Are they blind?
  7. It appears that we will not be with NIKE for the next season. PAOK is ready to announce that the new jerseys will be by Macron.
  8. To recap this is the new ERT: TELEVISION: ERT1 ERT2 ERT3 - Thessaloniki (not on the air yet) The first two right now are also streamed on ERT's Web TV. BTW, ERT1 will have the national team game live tomorrow for people that have no access to the game otherwise. RADIO: Proto Devtero Trito ERA Spor Kosmos Voice of Greece ERT 3 - R. S. Macedonia Reports are that a lot of the local ERT stations will return to the air as well.
  9. So far in this transfer period we have: NEW PLAYERS: Korovesis Charisis PLAYERS LEAVING Itandje Papadopoulos Tzandaris Katsikas
  10. First of all let PAE PAOK to announce the new coach. Personally I doubt that it will be Tudor. He would not be my choice, but hey, I am not the PAOK Technical Director. Arnesen will make his decision. He's being paid 1 mil a year to do that, and if he fails, he will have to answer to his boss, Ivan. I can see the logic of bringing in young coach who is willing to work hard to advance his career. After all everybody has to start somewhere, and since it appears that PAOK is in the rebuilding process I expected that type of a coach (young and hard worker). Lot of the "provata" fans will bitch and moan no matter what coach is hired. They will always find something to complain about and put a label on the person (touristas, tsobanis, karpouzas, etc.) No matter who comes, he will need a complete support from the front office. If the front office listens to the "provata" he will once again fail and we will have a Gerogiadis type coach to finish the season. BTW "provata" includes some of the PAOK fans and sold out PAOK media reporters.
  11. Good, and hopefully the other two will say no as well. Di Matteo would be stupid to ruin his reputation coming to the banana republic called Greece.
  12. Here are some of the new logos. It's nice to have ERA Spor back. The big question for us outside of Greece is if and when ERT World comes back.
  13. pash there are few differences this time around. Vryzas and co. (at least the main figures) are gone. They have been around since 2007. And since after Savvidis took over, they have done nothing of substance. Secondly, and I think it's very important, the debt that PAOK had (11 mil plus) has been erased. I think that Savvidis was waiting for this issue to disappear before he made a serious push to overhaul PAOK. The move to hire Arnesen is the first step in that direction. Hopefully he will be allowed to put his experience to work. I am sure that there will be a faction of PAOK fans with help from some media that will slowly start the backstabbing. That has been going on for years at PAOK. The question is if Savvidis will ignore those factions and moves forward.
  14. I would say Kitsiou, Konstantinidis, Pozoglou, Savvidis, Koulouris and some of the loaned players such as Pelkas, Papadopoulos, Popovic and Qose. The other thing with the youngsters is that some of them might be called up to play for the U19 in Euro finals and might not be able to help at the beginning of the season. As for EL, we might need some luck in the draw. For example if we get some team from Sweden, where the season is in full swing during the summer might pose problems. I thing the only tricky round will be the playoff round.
  15. In the above post the QR2 dates should be July 16 (Leg 1) and July 23 (Leg 2). The post needs couple more edits. I really hate that you can't edit your own posts on these forums. At the very least the PAOK forum needs an active moderator that can do some basic editing at a minimum.
  16. Well as expected Itandje is the first casualty. He is signing a 3-year deal with Rizaspor in Turkey. It is also being reported that Arnesen wants to give some of the younger players a chance to prove themselves. Here is my "12" Expired contracts: Itandje (already gone) Papadopoulos (as good as gone) Giakoumis (see no reason fro him to stay) Players still under contract Papagiannopoulos Maduro Martens (perhaps another loan until his contract expires) Tziolis Lucas (will be sold since he does not really want to play for PAOK) And the surprises: Rat Tzavellas Salpiggidis Noboa I am also sure we will get rid of Jacobo one in for all, and would not be surprised if we sold Klaus and Kace.
  17. Not being able to hold a lead after scoring for more than 13 seconds is becoming troublesome. I also question Q's defensive experiments with rookies in such pivotal game. We desperately need a win in the next game before going back to Florida.
  18. Heard on radio today that Arnesen has decided to cut around 12 players from the current squad. The only three players whose contracts expire this summer are Itandje, Papadopoulos and Giakoumis. That means that the rest will have to agree to leave and receive some kind of compensation. So what players do you think we will wave goodbye to in the next few weeks? Will there be any surprises?
  19. The first thing that needs to be taken care of is hiring a new coach. According to latest rumors PAOK is linked to Argentinian Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who in the past has coached Boca Juniors, Columbus Crew and Gimnaasia La Plata. He is quite young (42 years), which I believe is what PAOK needs, but what worries me is the fact that he has no European experience.
  20. Correct, it's on Sportnet World Now, the streaming service of Sportnet. Same thing with ESPN. The game is on the streaming service ESPN3 and not on their regular TV channels.
  21. PAOK as we all know will start the European campaign on July 16. Here is the breakdown PAOK's possible road to the Group Stage of Europa League, which should once again be PAOK's goal: QUALIFYING GROUP 2 (66 teams) SEEDING: Currently seeded in 2nd place with 40.880 points DRAW: June 22, 2015 LEG 1: June 22, 2015 LEG 2: June 22, 2015 POSSIBLE CONFIRMED OPPONENTS: IFK Gotteborg ? 22. The game is on at 2:45 EDT on ESPN3 and WatchESPN in US. Sportnet World and Sportnet 360 in Canada. The Poland - Greece game will be in beIN Sport Connect in Australia.
  23. We will be seeded all the way to group stage. We should make it to the group stage, where most likely all the Greek teams will end up (maybe except Atromitos) anyway. The only bad thing is that we need to start so soon. This will negatively impact the planning for the regular season. We need to appoint a coach this week, start bringing in new players, and treat the initial European games as pre-season training matches. The first two rounds of EL should an easy affair. The playoff round might be tricky, but since we are seeded, we should be ok.
  24. Not bad getting the initial win and claiming the home advantage. The two games in Chicago will dictate if it is going to be a short series or not. We need to win both.
