No idea on this one. What I expect is for us to have a poor first half of the season and what I hope is that in the 2nd half of the season (along with solid transfers in the winter break - a man can dream) we kick into gear and be serious title contenders the following season. My only prediction is we are between -8 and -12 points behind Olympiacos but the winter break.

AEK supposedly signed quality players last season also and didn't make Europe so I'll wait to see on that one. Aris too early to call. In fact, everything is too early to call. The only thing we can say with certainty is once again we were not prepared properly for our UEFA qualifiers. One day (and it could even be this year) all of the Greek teams will fail to qualify for the group stages and then EPO might wake up to themselves. As for our transfers, none of them excite me but it is what it is. I don't think anyone on this forum is impressed by them. You keep flogging a dead horse. But your solution ... for Savvidis to leave is just plain bizarre. That's what I would want if I wanted to ruin PAOK. Give me a list of billionaires ready to part with their money that are willing to buy and fund PAOK and I am happy to contact them.

Hello Rey, nice to hear from you. Because the opponent was weak there is not much to say other than congrats on doing what the better team is supposed to do. Aris has set a high bar, group stage, so getting disqualified before that will be disappointing. Next matchup will be interesting given the opponent. It should be an interesting season with all the new faces on the squad.

Before the post of yours from above, last time someone had posted was in January the 1st. Ever since then, Aris actually lifted up the game and was more less very good in playoffs, playing cat-mouse with Aek and Paok whole last season. On the topic, good display, some good additions to the team, I hope we just don't overplay with transfers, however strange it might sound.

Yes Turkey would be a tough opponent. Though if Poyet keeps Greece playing the way they did in the last 4 games they will be tough for anyone to beat. Georgia is a team I would rather not meet up against they are improving over the last few years and have a few dangerous players in attack.

At this rate , the playoffs for our euro 2024 would be between Turkey, Greece, Kazakhstan, and Georgia. Would be the semi final and final. We should hope Turkey qualify directly , then Luxembourg would take their place. If we don’t qualify from groups directly, then surely we would beat out any of these 3 other teams

Ahh ok I get sorry the heat is causing me to be a bit slow. Tbh they should have had it where all group winners went into a final knockout tournament (16 teams) then the winner and maybe runners up get automatic qualification to the Euros. That way it's a lot more interesting. And teams that aren't that commited as they're sure of qualifying the normal route will field weaker teams and give smaller nations a chance. The way it is now all the group A winners will more than likely quality automatically and UEFA will keep having to pass it down the table, probably to the team that came last in group A. Stupid.

Ha ha, no re hold the onions! I looked on Wikipedia and previously there was some sort of knock out phase for the Nation's League. But tbh the tournament is such a confusing mess I might have got the wrong end of the stick.

@ChrisT hey and welcome! No final tournament for Greece, that is for the nations who top their group in League A. We have won promotion to League B and guaranteed a spot in the Euro 2024 playoffs.
