  1. I think some here are reading too much not the Essien move and creating premature conclusions before the guy can play a few games. My bottom line all this as follows. Essien if he can stay relatively healthy and play 20 odd games for PAO this year ( always risky numbers with his medical track record ) he will be a huge upgrade over anything PAO had at central midfield last year. The man is a quality professional footballer Now the money PAO/ Alafouzos/Puma / my grandmother etc have spent to bring Essien to PAO is a big deal why again ? Didn't realize we have accountants here in these forums . All Greek SL teams piss money away every year on transfers. Some turn out to be ok and contribute to the team while most are garbage wasteful ones anyway regardless of total cost. In 12 months from now half the current PAO and OLY , PAOK and AEK squads will be different than the ones we are looking at today. Can't we all just be happy here that Michael Essien will be wearing a green jersey soon ? Even if its not that many games. I suppose a few here would prefer some unknown Portuguese or Ghana player to come to PAO on a free transfer and a 6 month contract just because he's cheap.

  3. When he plays in Karaiskaki and they chant "Bou-Bou-Boulgaroi!" He's gonna think they're cheering for him...

  4. Dude, you're such an idiot! You're always so negative! Now Berbatov is going to play in Europe, and you look like an a$$hole! (someone had to say it)

  6. ^Im not making any excuses i believe that our team is better than any other team in the Super Ligda but its hard to beat EPO and KED. Watch the game against Panionios giati tha pesi poli sfaksimo. I'm 100% sure that the referee of that game will be one of these 3 Mantalos, Kalogeropoulos, Spathas. Nothing is clean until the fat F*** goes to prison!!

  7. ^ I saw, in passing, an article that was tweeted by one of the PAOK-centric sites that basically said Arnesen was on an unexpected/unannounced trip. This was, I think, the day before Berbatov rumors went nuts. This would 100% fit that. It would also perversely make me feel a lot better to know that Arnesen had a hand in this signing, as we've had enough "going-behind-the-back" stuff around this club.

  8. Now THAT was smg else. I need to find the clips. Pretty amazing surgery was performed there on that day.I don't know how Asteras tied the game. And we have Asteras's fans in here that side with Oly......... :xxx: :xxx:

  10. It was reported that Arnesen is still under contract with Danish television to commentate the National Team games....so maybe that played on role on his availability for last minute negotiations? Considering Berbatov was reportedly AT Aston Villa's training ground ready to sign, it could have been considered a dead deal when Arnesen left. Who knows? The deal got done, and Berbatov, if healthy and ready to contribute, is not a player that a coach of technical director can actually say anything about. I like to work in analogies. If you're job is to pick which liquors a bar will serve, and then your boss shows up with a case of Johnny Blue Label, you shake his hand, thank him and keep it moving.

  11. Are we certain Arnesen was side stepped ? If so, well, that's not a good precedent.

  12. I would venture to say that his signing is one of the biggest ones in Greek soccer history. It's definitively up there with Rivaldo, etc.

  13. There should be a way to add negative votes, then we would probably see Olsen at -20

  17. ^^^ Don't agree be serious now he is a huge signing for them, he was killing it for Monaco last year and took the piss out of Arsenal in the CL, he has 20 goals in him easily. AEK in my opinion F***ed up by not getting him when he was offered to us as he is the exact striker we need and with him we could've been a big threat to Oly for the title. Goodluck to PAOK great signing and probably the best one in the SL

  18. ante accor... could you get any more than a propaganda filled article?? Even if Essien shows 40% of his talents then he'd be destroying sides..... ase mas.... Even the story of sitting on the bench at Milan and then building up enough power/strength to grace the fields against Aigaleio again is rather cute.... This is ONE article saying we are paying 600k, yet there are 10 other articles saying his salary is above 1 million.... So I guess now that i read ONE article saying his salary is 600k...i should disregard the previous articles and be completely OK with the transfer.... Ok fine... Let's go with that.... EVEN IF HIS SALARY IS STILL 600k... or 400k... why should I be paying a guy money who is as durable and fragile as a snowflake... You could have easily used 600k and the money spent to fly has ass over in a private jet... to help with leverage of bringing Abeid sooner or even better, buying better scouts (perhaps the atromitos/astera/xanthi scouts) or buying an up and coming prospect like a younger-Zeca.... His transfer fee was only 500k Instead, we bring some over the hill player who comes in injured... offer him the second highest salary on our squad... and keep him on the windowpane b/c he's too fragile to be taken out for gameday..... I'm so against this transfer, its not even funny

  19. Do you really believe the s%$#! you post, this is so wrong it's not even funny. I'll say it again, THE REST OF THE LEAGUE HAS IMPROVED SINCE 2010 EXCEPT FOR PANATHINAIKOS. AEK and PAOK are financially stable for the first time ever, Asteras Atromitos Panaitolikos and Xanthi free great competition, Olympiakos has a very good team. Just stop, your argument is wrong.

  20. I think In January, teams are able to make a couple of changes, so he can only play if we make it out of the group stage, we can register him.

  21. Only PAOK could make the biggest signing of the summer (if it's true) and have him NOT available for European play..... It's like being invited to an orgy and only being allowed to F*** the fat girls.

  25. something fantastic happened to me yesterday. i went with a couple friends to this pizza place around the corner from our apartment to grab some lunch before watching tottenham-everton. we go in there and put our orders in and i jokingly ask one of my friends (lebanese descent) if he knows the people who own the place, since his family also have pizza places and he seems to know a lot of restaurant owners. he says he doesn't know these people, but he later adds that he thinks they're greek. i look at the guy behind the counter and i think to myself, yeah, i could see it. but when the lady working there announces that a vedzie (veggie) slice is ready for pickup, there could be no doubts. interestingly, before i or my friends even said anything, the boss of the place comes over and tells us he's going to give us free pizza. alright! anyway, when the food was ready and we go to pay, my friend asks what nationality they are and sure enough they're greeks. i start talking to the guy there and when he hears my mom was born in thessaloniki he immediately asks which team i support. my life is on the line here, i realized, but of course i told him PAOK. he immediately reaches under the counter and produces a fantastic scarf (BLACK HELL one) that he gave to me. my two buddies and i also walked out of there with a free pizza on top of whatever food we had all already ordered. the guy's name was stathi, seems like a good fellow and absolutely a PAOK fanatic.
