Transfer News and Rumors - Summer 2026

Giannoulis is due in Thessaloniki tomorrow to sign with PAOK.  Three year contract at 1.2 mil per season. We are paying Augsburg 3.75 mil + 500 K in bonuses. We also agreed to play a friendly with them with proceeds going to the German team.

I said it before and will say it again, we are over paying for him. That money could have been better spent on getting a good forward.

Robbie Ure is a possible target according to the media. He is a 22 yo Scottish forward and plays for IK Sirius, the current Leagueleaders in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Sevilla is interested too, so chances are slim.

Saw an article earlier on Lisci wanting a "smaller" striker, and a different post on instagram claiming Jeremejeff is on his way out (so we'd probably get two strikers). Guess we'll see.

I like Jeremejeff but he hasn't impressed in preseason/these matches, for sure. Good for Mythou I guess. At least until he becomes a third stringer after we hire a pair of 45 year old forwards.

-edit- coincidentally just saw on the forza instagram page that the Jeremejeff situation is driven by him receiving a two-year offer for a "50%" increase in earnings, so he may just want to leave. Even better, to be honest.

Lot of posts over the past week about Konstantelias being 'on the radar' of basically every team. Now some reports that Fenerbahce wants him but thinks he's too expensive, while he is now Dortmund's 'plan B' - I have my doubts about all of this but I guess we'll see.

In other news, I saw some fan page on instagram claiming we're taking Vanja Drkusic on loan from Zenit. I've seen him rumored to be linked with us before; who knows if this is real. He's a CB.

Wow, an awful day gets worse. I wonder if him coming was tied to us guaranteeing European football this season? Since that isn't the case he chooses La Liga over the Superleague. I am just speculating but curious.

Definitely the case. Brann won’t be easy. If we end up losing the tie, would he rather play Barcelona or Kavala in the league?

Some rumors of Dortmund offering something in the 25-30mm range for Konstantelias, with his own salary to reach around 3 million/year. It will be really stupid of both us and him to not eventually agree to a transfer (though we should try to push those #s up). The guy who was their "plan A" netted a much larger offer from Dortmund, which was rejected, so clearly there is more room to make more money.

And yes I know people think he won't want to leave or whatever. We still should sell him. We could be talking about an amount that will fundamentally reset this team's prospects for years to come, should we spend it wisely.

Kamara apparently also rejected an offer from some Saudi team, because he thinks he has a chance at moving to a better league. I think the writing is on the wall with that guy, probably more imminently than Konstantelias. I'd be surprised if he's still with us in September.

It’s gonna get ugly. Hearing rumors of PAOK trying to push him away but he really doesn’t want to leave. Now this is where it gets sticky.  For PAOK, if you get $30 mil plus for him, you have to push him to accept a move. As my bald headed friend said, it sets up the organization for years to come. We can basically rebuild. But then you can ask yourself are we really in a rebuild? Buying old players, and spending big on Zafeiris. I don’t think the club really knows which direction they want to go. However, if he does get pushed out, you are going to have a lot of fans pissed off. So PAOK has to be really smart how they handle this. 
 

This roster right now is a good CF, CB, GK away from making a real run at the conference league. If after the first leg we see we have a good chance to advance I can see some last minute transfers. If for some reason we don’t qualify, I expect major transfers out.

Fans are all stupid. You shouldn't endlessly hold on to players just because it gives you the warm and fuzzies. We have a million kids that'll go through the academy. It's incredibly exciting to see who can come through next. Selling players like Konstantelias allows us to both pay for the pipeline, AND opens up a space!

You both make the assumption that we would spend that money wisely. The way we move in the transfer market and negotiate so poorly by counting pennies, I wouldn't be holding my breath that the club is capable of signing the necessary players. Matos and Vieirinha are new in the roles and may prove to be very capable but they aren't the money guys. 

This is complicated matter, Konstantelias is a once in a generation player. Brilliant footballer, who is not only beloved by PAOK fans but by Greek football fans all over the country. The fact that he receives applause wherever he plays says a lot, we are well aware of the toxicity that exists in Greek football. 

My opinion is that he is worth more than 25-30 million to PAOK(different to what we can get for him in the transfer market.) If he wants to stay then you keep him and build around him.

The grass is always greener, give me a guaranteed player who we know what he can produce rather than a bunch of money. 

Finally(and perhaps least relevant to the transfer saga/PAOK) I really don't think he has the drive or desire required to be a success abroad. Supremely talented yes, but any club that invests that heavily in him will have demands of him professionally and require he does extra work to improve. He doesn't strike me as that kind of personality/athlete.

Double post I apologise but....

Scratch almost everything I said above, he is currently flying to Germany to complete the deal. 28 million + 2 million in bonuses. We also maintain 17.5% of any future transfer fee. Man the blowback is going to be massive and is already bubbling away. 

I hope the club lets Matos and Vieirinha get to work and doesn't handcuff them financially, give them a budget and let them build a team!

This is for the best! You can't operate a club by assuming we can't grow it and therefore shouldn't ever sell a guy when such a (literally?) golden opportunity arises.
