  1. The minute there’s a little hype around this team and they start pulling in crowds they lay a massive egg in big games. They did it with the game against England here, they did it against Georgia and now Denmark.

  2. Our only chance now is getting 2nd as the chance at first is done. What looked to be a dream start by winning and having Scotland and Denmark draw, now looks to be a bad result for us. Would have been better if Denmark beat Scotland. To have at chance at 2nd and a playoff we need to beat Scotland twice and hope for at least a draw in Denmark. (Tough task) I’m still excited about this young team regardless of the result tonight. It’s by far the most skilled team we’ve had and as these kids grow together they will eventually learn how to handle these big games. We need to find a way to take 2nd I can’t handle missing another tournament..

  3. Let's pump the break on all this negative talk. Konstantelias is uber talented, that is why PAOK is getting offer of $20M plus. We had not faced a team that was patient like Denmark and could counter like that. I am sure Jovanovic will see what we did wrong and fix it. We are a young team, these things take time..

  4. This was a good lesson. We went away from what got us here. We beat England in Wembley and can't beat Denmark at home? Taking Karetsas out was the wrong move. Kourbelis should not start going forward.

  6. I have a feeling we will respond to our last 2 disappointing results and come out with a big win here. I think Zivkovic is due and will have a big game and we will get our Europa League campaign off on the right foot.

  7. Yes it looked great after the draw avoiding Portugal and getting Denmark I was so happy but I still think Greece will win in Scotland and I can see us getting something in Denmark as we will be better prepared. Greece won in England we are the only country to win their in a competitve match in 2 years. Jovanovich is a great coach but he messed up the lineup by starting Kourbelis and then subbing off Karetsas and Konstantelias was wrong when we were chasing the game. I can see us getting second place but it will be hard to go through another playoff. Way to stressful but Greece have to get to the World Cup!

  8. I believe going forward Mouzakitis has to be starting over Kourbelis. The kid is one of the most sought after young mids right now. You cannot be starting Kourbelis over Mouzakitis. He was directly responsible for their first goal with his giveaway. Tzolis is our best player right now on the NT but he gave the ball away like 4 or 5 times unacceptable. Tzolakis had a complete brain fart on the 3rd goal. What was he doing? I also find Tsimikas to be a bit of a defensive liability that's why I prefer Giannoulis. We definitely need a win in Scotland to get us back into 2nd place. I hope all the players are fit for the October games.

  9. I believe the answer to what you said Dean is Nectarios Triantis, tall defensive midfielder that just got his Greek citizenship. He will probably call him up for October games. Hopefully Giannoulis is fit for those games also as I believe we play better when he is starting at LB.

  10. A 0-5 win in Malta for the lads in the first qualifier for Euro 2027. Pnevmonidis and Koutsias two goals each. Rallis completing the manita.

  11. I wouldn't have subbed out Konstantelias and Karetsas straight away in the second half. Konstantelias looked out of it, but I would have waited until around the 60th minute mark to make changes. It was only 0-1 at that point, and these guys can create something out of nothing. It was too early to sub them out. I agree that Kourbelis shouldn't have even been in the squad, but the fact that we haven't got anyone else with height and quality yet shows that we lack real depth in this position. It's inexcusable to leave out Mouzakitis in this game; he would have brought something. He's our most creative central midfielder at the moment. I thought Zafeiris played well. He ran, covered, tackled, and even produced some individual brilliance with the ball. He's been a great addition. We need to replace Kourbelis in my opinion, and hopefully, some young player emerges soon and takes his spot. Mouzakitis should start, but we also need another player with height and quality. I expected more out of Pavlidis; I thought some of his touches were off, and the same can be said about Tzolis. We still played well, and the attacking intent is there. Also, to Denmark's credit, they were on it defensively today, getting to the ball as quickly as possible. It's a great learning curve for the young guys, as this team is mostly young, and so it should be. It's all still to play for. We have great players and should learn from our mistakes. We need more depth in some positions and quality depth. Let's all be patient with the team, as the right pieces are mostly in place with a few adjustments. I believe in this team.

  12. Pains to say but it's true. Not sure if it's nerves or expectation but they aren't looking great in front of the home crowd, which you would think is the opposite in football. They play better in all the away match. Denmark head and shoulders better today, the game turning clearly from copping the first goal, which allowed them to sit even deeper and hit us on the counter. We went from dreaming to now hoping in a flash. It did not appear we were on Denmark's level in any aspect deeply humbling and concerning.

  13. Greece have to win out all 4 matches to win the group, unfortunately that will not happen.

  14. I get Bakasetas coming on but taking off Karetsas when we are chasing a goal? He was one of our few bright lights.

  15. You know you completely messed up those changes when the announcers even call you out.

  16. Big fail on the changes. You’re chasing a goal You don’t take off your most skilled players. Now, as I say this watch them score.

  18. It goes without saying, this game will be far tougher than the one against Belarus. The Danes who have been mainstays at major tournaments for the last 7 or so years, have been able to build that solid record of qualification on a strong defence. They have been typically tough to break down and have had plenty of results by keeping a clean sheet. So it will be the first real test for our young guns and all their attacking flair. I expect Denmark will look to keep it tight and allow us to have the bulk of possession. Our attack has been blowing teams away, so an early goal and who knows. But I would anticipate a cat and mouse game. I don't expect Jovanovic to make any changes to the starting 11 that we saw today. Even though plenty (myself included) wanted to see Konstantelias instead of Bakasetas, you can't deny Bakasetas has performed time and time again for the Ethniki. He had another good game against the Belarusians, so I don't think he will be dropped for this one.

  20. Tsiftsis will start for sure against Lille as Guge is not in the EL-squad. And I think and hope he gets the benefit of the doubt too in the Supa League. Guge has not impressed me.

  26. KA Akureyri won today with a 1-0 score after the 2-2 draw in the first leg to make it 3-2 on aggregate. I think it is the first time ever that a PAOK team travels to Iceland.

  27. He did not play well either but we also were not in providing him with any service compared to when Chalov came on. I think he still needs time to gel with the team but anything is better than Chalov up front.

  28. Once again we waste the first half before an improved 2nd half. Those 2 chances missed at the end, I mean what can you say really..... We were lucky not to concede and have to thank Pavlenka for another huge performance (MVP for me today) but once again, especially in the 2nd half we created more than enough to come away with the 3 points. I guess on the balance of the game a draw is relatively fair. The game could've just as easily ended up 3-1, 2-2 or 0-1.

  29. Chalov should not be seeing the pitch period. If they gave Giakoumakis half these chances we would have won. Instead he had to play the whole game basically out of position just to win some possession with how horrible we looked in the first half.

  30. Pressure goes up again, 2nd time in a relatively short period this season that our backs are against the wall. Maccabi was already a massive game given it is one of our 4 winnable ones in the Europa League, but coming off these last 2 results increases its importance. We created enough chances to win the game, but when you start slow and are pretty lacklustre for a half you leave yourself a lot to do in 45 minutes. Patience with Lucescu seems to be at an all time low from the fans. It feels like he has a lost about 20-30% of his support just by not doing what the average football fan considers an obvious move (playing 2 strikers for the last 10 minutes against 10 men, changing formation etc.) Again these are simple solutions, but it is no doubt frustrating when you watch you team pepper the opposition goal for a half and the only change is in personnel. As always our response is key and will give us a good indication into the mentality of the team for this season. We simply must beat Maccabi and then Asteras away.

  35. I agree. Now that you mentioned it I believe we do play better with him not saying Tsimikas is bad or anything but I think Giannoulis adds something else to our play especially going forward and links up well with Tzolis. I’m hoping Triantis can he useful for us. Time will tell.

  36. Kourbelis should never have started this match and should have been subbed off at HT if not earlier. Karetsas should have been allowed at least another 15mins in the second half to try and rescue a goal for us. Jovanovich was right to sub off Konstantelias he was not on his game and neither was Tzolis as I said during the match. Denmark are a well organized side but we made them look like Argentina. I watched a lot of their first match and they struggled vs an average Scottish side at home. I never thought they would come to Greece and win in this fashion. We failed to keep the ball and made silly passes and guys tried to dribble past 2 or 3 defenders too. Greece have to get themselves together and have to get a win at Scotland. I can see the Scots just sitting back and waiting to counter us as they did in the two nations league matches. Scotland only got a 2 nil win vs Belarus and their first goal came in the 43rd minute.

  37. One question. Were was Mouzakitis? Why wasn't he even on the bench? Him and Zafeiris should start every game. Why is he putting in Kourbelis?

  38. 100% - not sure what he was thinking. I totally get Bakesetas, try to calm them down but bringing in someone who probably should not be called up in the first place..

  39. What was Jovanovich doing tonight? Kourbelis dribbling to nowhere infront of our goal? Why did he keep him in? Tzolis had no touch on the ball tonight, really poor. Zaferis was our best player. I don't know what to say I was not expecting such a dismal performance.

  40. Kourbelis had a bad game. I understand taking out Delias for Bakesetas to calm things down but Karetsas for Masouras???

  41. We started well, Denmark were just trying to take the sting out of the match and then we gave away the ball to many times and paid for it. I think we can get something out of this if we smarten up.

  42. Not a good first half. Not sure they will be able to turn it around in the second. Denmark has the ability to now shut it down and slow the entire game down. It’s going to take everything now just to get a point out of this game.
