  1. It's actually quite a fair result. It eliminates the advantage of PAOK being at home. So in effect our "punishment" is not having our fans and not playing in our home ground. Of course hard core Olympiacos fans would get confused by such a suggestion. Their thought process has been dumbed over the years. I don't understand why they are referred to as gavroi. I always thought of them more as weasels ha ha.

  2. My view of Greece leading up for the upcoming Nations League and Euro campaign: Irreplaceable core: Sokratis (C), Manolas, Papadopoulos, Donis, Mitroglou, Retsos Important but replaceable core: Karnezis, Fortounis, Stafylidis, Zeca, Lazaros, Samaris, Mantalos, Tachtsidis Players who can earn a place in core: Gianniotas, Bakasetas, Pelkas, Lykogiannis, Galanopoulos, Androutsos, Kourbelis, Kapino Players on way out: Torosidis, Tziolis, Tzavellas, Maniatis Fringe players that may be in and out of squad: Oikonomou, Koutroubis, Bouchalakis, Anestsis, Vellios Dark horses that may play a role: Siovas, Bakakis, Lamprou, Masouras, Limnios, Siopis, Kone, Fetfatzidis

  3. Technically it shouldn't matter since the league approved him (and hasn't had a problem so far). But I find in cases like this it's better to think of Greece as a sub-saharan African nation, with all the corruption that entails. Sounds like it officially began. Five lawyers representing our team.

  6. If they're smart, they'll stay quiet. We're on the defensive here, and if you're defending, you don't run your mouth where judges might be watching.

  7. Protocol, what protocol ? It's made up ad-hoc. This is SPARTA GREECE. As for Savvidis being silent, are you referring to the father or the son who normally can't shut up for more than 5 minutes ?

  8. Many thanks file. Surely Aretopoulos is needs a decent talking to over the handling of this and the lack of black and white detail from his side, given the magnitude of what has happened his reports seem very gray

  9. All that we can do is prosecute the case to the best of our ability. If the fix is in it's in but we can at least make it so that Olympiacos have to sink to lower and lower depths to get what they want. Ideally we win 7/7 and it forces them to require more court case intervention. Why does the word RAT FINKS come to mind ? Ha ha. It sounds like Aretopoulos has sold his soul and if so I agree with @Klaous that we should do everything in our power to make sure he doesn't referee again. If this goes their way it will set such a terrible precedent. I would think a replay at a neutral venue would be the best outcome and ironically would still be a positive for Olympiacos since they would avoid the ZOUGLA that so scares them. What a bunch of pussies ha ha.

  10. I withdraw my nomination of Klaous for president. I feel that he built me up, only to tear me down. I'd like to file a complaint with the elections commission.

  11. Yes, in the match report most of this is written. However, no clear mention if whether or not Garcia is able to play. Only that the doctor of the match reported his status to Aretopoulos. Aretopoulos avoids to write down what exactly the doctor told him. However, it is written in the match report that Garcia is not feeling well and Olympiakos is therefore leaving.

  12. The fix is in paidia. We need DENNY CRANE.

  13. The biggest mistake by PAOK was allowing Aretopoulos to be the ref of this game! They should have asked Superleague for him to be excused from the game. There is a reason why his original match report was vaguely written. That gave him and his masters (Oly lawyers) ample time to re-write it later so it would suit them during the hearing. Also it was him that told Olympiakos officials that they had the wrong coach listed on the original report.

  14. You just want to bang your head against a wall hey... He should have asked what were you guys doing for 15 mins, it would have been some ridiculous answer , cringe worthy I bet but def worth asking to see what vlakia comes back. PAOK called in a coroner, now if this guys makes a reasonable case something could come of this, I still don't find the justification at a cut lip could lead to all this... PAOK arrested the idiot that's started all this, the injury is not that bad, I don't think it needed hospitalization that's for sure but now dodgy reff, Areopoulos has changed his report which just makes things more gray. What I'm not 100% is the doctor case... was Garcia observed by the "official doctor"? The PAOK guy, be that may be , he was the official doc thanks to EPO.

  15. Yeah you are right, I have not expected this outcome. But now that I have read the match report I am not 100% sure myself what is true and what is not since the match report is written very general and avoids to make any clear statement. Anyway, the match report claims that the list of the club officials was handed in within the "expected time". But Garcia was listed 15 minutes later. Now the question is what does this mean? Were the lists handed in right before the deadline? Was there any time left? Or was it too late? The match report does not say anything about this. If the game observer backs up that Garcia was listed in time than this argument is indeed void. Now of course the second question is whether or not Garcia was able to play. Nobody of us was at the court of course, but after the PAOK lawyer said that Garcia was for 15 minutes not seen and Olympiakos could have hurt him as well there the judge replied with a "I did not expect to hear this". Well, then what did you expect to hear? Shouldn't you rather ask Olympiakos what they were doing in this 15 minutes? Or did you expect nothing unusual there? Why does a judge even have expectations as an allegedly neutral person? Haven't you read the reports of the match or do you think it is business as usual that a team rejects for 15 minutes any medical attention and locks itself in into the changing rooms? Yep, nothing to see here and nothing to expect here, what a joke. Έλλας το μεγαλείο σου.

  16. Keep in mind that Aretopoulos has every reason to say that things were done above-board. Ignoring his being a fan of Olympiakos, he needs to look out for his own neck, and so I wouldn't put it past him to write retrospective "clarifying reports."

  17. I thought EPO would have appointed a neutral ref. But silly me. They didn’t.

  18. That’s the thing, he picked a core group from 2016/17 and would not budge even though many of those players were in poor form and others in hot form... new selections coming up soon, he better be true to his words

  19. Even game with Cyprus and Estonia, we had the games won and he would play Tziolis for example for 90 mins, Maniatis in some games it was horrible

  20. Hahaha, yeah I am a rookie with Greek soccer... The Greek soap opera's just annoy me so much... just the reasons given on both occasions are just ridiculous and it should have been thrown in their face

  21. I saw that same article. They describe the players very well. Let's hope they live up to expectations in the coming years. Also to note players like Galanopoulos, Limnios, Androutsos, Manthatis and Gianniotis should be in and around the national team right now. Kourbelis, Pelkas, Stafylidis, Kapino and Lykogiannis should have cemented places in the team by now. Donis and Retsos are progressing faster than what these others have.

  22. I believe Vrakas played in a cup game for us waaaay at the beginning of the season. Wasn't terrible. Long way to go for each of these players, though.

  23. Even if he can, we don`t need to force feed players positions anymore. Right now, we already have Retsos that is a CB and can play RB, and he is much better than Hatzidiakos. Vs Croatia, we had Maniatis, Zeca and Retsos playing out of position, and although 2/3 fared pretty well individually, all things considered, the team was in shambles. This isnt a sustainable solution and we need to start developing and playing guys in their natural positions. All that said, in Retsos' case, if he is truly our best option at RB right now, then he should start in that position, also considering he has three bulls in front of him in the CB pecking order. He is an exception rather than the rule.

  25. I see no reason why Lazaros should be anywhere close in the NT. The next big tournament is in 2020 with him being 33 then. No point to bring someone in who will end up possibly creating a huge gap once he retires. Our attacking mids/wingers should be noone else ther than Pelkas Fortounis Donis Mantalos for now, Lazaros Lamprou Masouras and Limnios are the only greek wingers who are getting a decent amount of playtime. Everyone has been talking about Pelkas statistics . 9 goals and 9 assits in 29 matches and 1,800 minutes of playtime. But Lamprou with 8 goals and 5 assists in 31 matches/2100 minutes with a much weaker team probably ain't nothing either. Limnios is having a poor season but the fact that paok decided to keep him and he has been a regular sub I have huge hopes for him coz I ve seen him play last season. Masouras is already 24 he has never been a statistics beast but he s been having some crucial goals. Overal honestly if none of these guys (Lamprou, Limnios, Masouras) make the big stepup. We ll be looking at false hopes.

  27. AEK should have popped in a goal, I watched the game and they had a few glorious chances and dominated the possession. Lazaros played a great match and hit a nice free kick. It would have been nice to see a Greek side progress to the last 16 of this competition. AEK have had an impressive run recently.

  28. Either way you slice it AEK had a very good campaign this season in Europe. They amassed points for Greece but more importantly they amassed points for themselves. Hopefully it's enough so that they can be in the "strong" group of teams when in comes to the qualification games in the coming years. Last season they had to play St. Etienne which was a tough draw and they didn't make it to the EL stages. So many seasons out of Europe is what lead to this. Hopefully the points amassed this season are enough or if not a very good start.

  29. Defense was such a mess vs Croatia its hard to fault him, he was completely exposed. Skibbe spinelessly opting to start Maniatis over Retsos at RB was a massive error.

  30. Karnezis in goal for Watford in it’s away EPL match overnight again Stoke City. Full-time 0-0. It’s funny how quiet we are when he has a good match or keeps a clean sheet but when he has one occasional bad match the whole world is reminded on this site.

  31. Beware what you wish for! But that is from a bygone era when each team was only allowed 3 non Greek players in the squad. The Bosman ruling, EU and CL monies has changed the landscape permanently.
