  1. Yes but they do not get points. Greece does.

  2. Bodo or Slavia Prague obviously. The Dutch we are 80% eliminated or maybe 100% actually. The others, yeah we'll just be there for the ride. But hey we made it this far and anything more is a bonus. Speaking of bonuses, keep that sweet prize money rolling in. Found this really good website with a detailed breakup of prize money for each of the UEFA competitions and it also includes total prize money per club. https://www.football-coefficient.eu/money/

  3. And now two yellows within a few seconds for us: Mihaj and Colak.

  4. Vangelis with another goal. But in between the Norwegians scored too. So 3-3 on aggregate with an hour to play.

  5. Lucescu is of today the coach with the most apps on the bench for PAOK in European matches.

  6. Augusto had a very good game today. He will be battered from all the fouls he took. I think it is fair to say that we stole the win. I am not saying we shouldn't have advanced but the Belgians had the clear cut chances. Thankfully Lucuscu woke up, took Biseswar off and brought on Sidcley. Vieirinha you soldier!

  7. I think Paschalakis was MVP saving our ass being our extra CB and kicking away dangerous balls.

  8. Great accomplishment. Much improved in 2nd half. Turning point for me was the entrance of Sidcley into the game. Douglas Augusto MVP for me.

  16. Staf made no sense to me either. It would have been nice to see Manolas and Siovas even in the friendlies though so they can have a few games to build some chemistry with the team. I do like how Poyet said in the press conference he needs to have his core starters that start all the time and then they can sub out a few players here and there. From the list of players the midfield still looks to still be a very big problem for us but that's obviously not on Poyet but rather the lack of talent we have in that position.

  17. Thoughts - • Happy to see what Nikolaou can bring to the defense • Tzavellas, Stafylidis back - oh god Tzav’s club form has been poor, Staf… • Rota, please keep calm in the box (good in attack) • Kourfalidis • Vrousai, proven nothing at NT level would rather give the chance to Albanis, Lamprou or even Fetfatzidis • Decent attacking options, keen to see how Poyet uses them Would like to see Alexandropoulos get game time at this level

  18. Hmm I haven’t checked that thread out in ages but I’m not surprised. A common theme I’ve seen over the years is for this need to have a scapegoat. Be it Katsouranis, Tziolis or whoever. Not that these guys were great, they had their flaws but somehow there was this belief if we replaced them everything else would fall into place. Now it seems to be Bakasetas and Mantalos. Most people can watch soccer all their lives but can’t read a game let alone understand how team management, psychology and cohesion works. Skill is but one factor in selecting a player. There are many other factors considered. If it was all about skill, just go and pick one of those guys you see in a park that can juggle the ball like a champion.

  19. This explains why Manolas and company were not called up. Εθνική Ελλάδος: Χωρίς Μανωλά, Σωκράτη οι πρώτες κλήσεις του Πογέτ, έκπληξη με Κουρφαλίδη (sport24.gr)

  20. I’ve watched every Greece game and I know what I’m seeing. If you think Bakasetas is the answer for Greece then I wonder if you want the best for the national team… If you can’t connect your good club form to the national team then I don’t want them in the team, it’s simple. Bakasetas might do well in Turkey but most of his games for Greece haven’t been good enough for me. I’ve seen Ninis play for Volos and he still shows glimpses of the player he is known to be. Excellent passing and vision and reads the game well. Just like how Kyriakos Papadopoulos shows glimpses of brilliance when he played for the national team. Fetfatzidis came on for 5 minutes against Bosnia last year and made Greece win by making there defender score an own goal in the last few minutes. During that time he was doing very well for Aris and was never chosen after the Bosnia game. Again I watch every game the national team plays and I know what works and what doesn’t work. This team has a lot of determination and drive but lacks quality and talent in crucial positions the team needs. Especially in the midfield. Fetfa and Ninis have done a lot better for the national team in the past yet some people don’t acknowledge that and don’t look at that as something that should be brought back. Why not try them again and see what they can do?
