every single call up is understandable. Especially considering injuries, form, and our lack of depth in some positions. Let me explain. .. Vyntra...considering torosidis is suspended vs Finland, who else should we have called up? Tasoulis? Skondras? I know he is mediocre and we are eager to move forward with youth but we lack depth in this position. To his credit, he hasn't had a tragic game since s korea in 2010. Stafylidis has been defensively poor for club and country for over a fking year! Im just glad holebas is back. Pelkas is injured. Lastly, tziolis' inclusion is debatable and may not be justified. One can argue bouchalakis should take his place. However, tziolis has experience and chemistry with the team. Also, he played amazing against romania, to help us qualify for the world cup 2014. And we play romania a few days after the Finland match. So perhaps tziolis' inclusion is understandable, especially considering many of our other midfielders lack experience and have been playing poor for the ethniki Overall, i like the balanced selections and we will beat Finland. If we beat them, maybe we will get a positive result against romania too!

Call ups

Once the suits jumped ship, we were always set up for failure. They are the reason we are in this mess, with some to blame more than others. Don't use Alafazous and a scape goat, if it weren't for him, we wouldn't even have a side. Who else was willing to put their hand up? I understand your frustration because this isn't the pao you know, but it's the reality of the situation and we have to deal with it. Enough 'grinia' it won't do any good. The club needs it's fans now more than ever. We need to focus our efforts towards the title.

I get people being upset but the entire blow up the team in August mantra needs to stop. Essien hasn't played yet. Abeid hasn't played yet. Sanchez has played like 2 games. Those are basically the 3 big signings from this summer. This team will look different in a few weeks. It's disappointing that we will not be playing Europe this year and more importantly to the club, losing out on that guaranteed cash. But at this point, the team and players probably need out support more than ever. I think they know they need to turn it around. All i know is they NEED a win on Sunday. Then they have 2 weeks to regroup and get key people back.

I think yous would be crazy to get rid of Anastasiou now, sure yous are out of Europe and it always falls back on the manager but you cant get rid of a guy based on that alone, see how he does in his first 5 games or so, and then yous can talk about sacking him if things arent working out. Nothing good will come from getting rid of him at this stage. Taht is unless a high caliber manager can be brought in, but unlikely at this time of the year.

Hey is the care taker of the club. When all the big money guys jumped shipped after saddling the club with debt and on the precipice of bankruptcy, he was the only one who volunteered to help save PAO. He basically called himself PAO's "Troika." He implemented the symaxia and draconian austerity measures to help PAO reduce their budget/debt to make them possibly attractive to a big money guy. You can criticize him for mistakes (and of course he has made them). But people saying he should go should look at the big picture. Say does get up and leave/resign. What then? Who's going to fill that giant void. I understand the frustration with getting knocked out of Europa but people need to look at the situation as a whole and not a microcosm of it. It's August. The season has barely started. Disappointing start? Yep. Making over reactionary moves isn't a smart play right now.

I think Korovesis might surprise us on the left too - he's been good each time he's played. Hopefully we'll be able to make deep runs into the cup and EL, it would be a real krima if so many interesting players go unused.

Our depth is our biggest strength this year, at every position except striker we have backups that can be just as useful as the starters. We have less games than everyone, and more players than everyone, we are in a great position to make a run this year. I guess I need an avatar now lol

Weird with Arzo, he probably thought he was going to walk straight in to the 11ada. Kolo and Tzane keeping him out and rightly so, they've been beast, a great combo and great chemistry. 5 Greeks in that lineup, and possibly 6 with Mantalos. Great to see.

Is it true they are really trying to renegotiate Costa's contract ? Amateur hour. Just let it be, or get rid of the player. I've never heard of something like this, except if a club (and PAOK were specialists at it) is in financial trouble. Is Costa worth it ? Probably not. But that's the deal that was made and you shouldn't just try and renege on it. What sort of a precedent does this set ? If you try and sign an expensive player one day, will he look at this and wonder if it's worth the trouble. As far as priorities go, PAOK should be concentrating on giving Kace a new contract with a higher release clause. I'm still god damn amazed we haven't extended his contract.

These are the players in the team to play vs Xanthi. I'd go with; Subs: Anestis, Lambropoulos, Didac, Anakoglou, Mantalos, Barbosa, Chrisantus. Definitely would like to see Mantalos at some stage in the game. I think Soiledis deserves another start based on his performance in the first game vs Platanias. Didac to also make an appearance to get game time under his belt. Whether or not Buonanotte starts is another question, I'd like him to but wont be disappointing if he doesn't, maybe Vargas in the middle again with Barbosa on the left. Aravidis up front without question. Arzo doesn't seem to be in the team (whats the deal with him?) so Kolo - Tzane at the back with Galo, the bazooka leg, on the right.

Alafouzos isn't a soccer guy. His responsibility is to pick the coach and good advisers. Unfortunately there's noone else besides Alafouzos to guide the club. Anastasiou should resign. He did a great job rescuing the team from the bottom, but it's obvious he's reached his upper limit. Bad planning too. Spend money for what? It's the euro play that brings you recognition, points, and money. For the domestic league they only needed a couple more players (could have gotten them from other Greek teams), and a better approach to not wasting points against lesser teams. Maybe we should realize that the ceiling for this team is the domestic cup... :( (maybe)
