SL–R23: PAOK - Olympiakos (25 Feb 18, 19:30 EET)

As opposed to the original hearing this judge at least let all parties to present their case and he actually listened to them. He even let the video showing the paper not hitting Garcia in the head as evidence, which was not the case in the first trial. Let's see if this judge see things differently. PAOK lawyers stuck to their original points.  PAOK asked that a decision be made as soon as possible, but the judge could not promise that.

Pedia what happened in the courts?

As Blackhawk already stated, basically that what should have happend in the first trial. This time the judge does not seem to be so particulary keen to punish us compared to Miss Skouliki last week.

What I do not like about the judge were his comments about the scooter and how he showed empathy with Aretopoulos saying that Aretopoulos is just a human and that he was really afraid on that evening. Well, if he does not make his job right because he is afraid, and you even acknowledge that yourself, then why should we get punished for his failures?

Interesting side note: The judge was actually in Toumpa on that evening. Maybe this is good for us since he should have seen the mismanagement of Aretopoulos at first hand, but we shall see. I also like the fact that he acknowledges the loopholes in the laws.

Regarding those comments and the things I have read from the court liveticker I am much more confident this time that we will get our three points back and that the match will be replayed, since there are too many loopholes in the laws and we cannot be punished on a legitimate basis for what has happend. Well, we will soon find out what will happen. But what I am sure of is that Olympiakos is going to appeal any decision that does not include the 3 point deduction. They won't just give up.

  • 2 weeks later...

Both teams appealed to the 2nd level of appeals concerning this game. Olympiakos wants to also include a point deductions for PAOK to the already 3:0 win on paper.

PAOK in return asks that the appeal court overturns the 3:0 loss and either rules it in PAOK's favor or at the minimum have the game replayed.

I believe the appeal will take this Friday.

Incidently the Olympiakos's appeal ruling concerning the Olympiakos - AEK game is still pending after the many postponements. Olympiakos hopes to have the -3 points erased in this case.

I have lost track of this after it was pushed under the carpet last week with all that happened, any idea when this will be decided? It was mean to be last week on Tuesday, I am assuming sometime this week surely

Lol @Soprano76 and @Blackhawk so Olympiakos will do whatever they can for the following outcome:

1) AEK is punished 3pts for not coming out to finish the match and

2) PAOK is docked 6 pts which includes the 3pts for winning the match due to point 1) and then 3 pts for Savvidis and co storming the pitch.

Would not be shocked if that happens and only in Greece that the olympiakos appeal for the crowd incident with aek is being postponed till after the PAOK-AEK outcome!

It's simple, these excuses will not stand. Fantasy world stories. OSFP got their "lawyers" together and looked at how they can win what they need to on paper, so yes, naturally they have a "case" for PAOK & AEK to lose so many points and they be paper champions again :1eye::confused::angry-662871:

You would need to prove....there was no immediate threat,   and it was 100 percent safe to continue.

Which it was and that's why the ref asked the teams to come out and play, but only PAOK came out. In any normal country it would be a clear cut case. PAOK wins game on paper. Savvidis and Michel get a big punishment including a big ban from soccer. That's in a normal country, but in Greece everything is being tried in the corrupted and paid off media, so the end result will be heavy punishment for PAOK on all levels.

Once again it will be a selective enforcement of the rules, and things will go on as usual until the next incident.

Did you actually see the game or are you basing your opinions on what you are reading in the Greek media?

There was police present. If anyone was threatened they would have restrained him. The fact that he had a concealed weapon was not known until he was leaving the field when he took his jacket off. The only reason the gun issue is used is because a photographer was able to snap a picture which was then immediately circulated to all the paid off media.

The only reason AEK was "threatened" was because the ref informed them that the score was 1:0. If it was 0:0 they would have come out on the field without any problem.

Now let's get back on topic.

Olympiakos hopes for both PAOK and AEK to get punished, so they can get their dirty hands on another "paper" title.

Actually all parties are trying to become paper champions this time. In my eyes PAOK way less than the other two. But maybe it's because I am a PAOK fan.

Final decision about this game will apparently be announced next Wednesday. During today's appeal PAOK asked that the game be played as scheduled. Olympiakos on the other hand asked that PAOK receive an addition 3 point deduction from the standings.

The final decision has been announced by EPO concerning this game. The third level o appeals has turned down PAOK's wish to have the game played, and it has also turned down Olympiakos's wish to have points deduct from PAOK.

Basically the second level of appeals decision stands. Olympiakos wins the game on paper, and PAOK pays a fine for the roll of paper being thrown on the field.

Standings following this decisions are

1. AEK    54
2. Olympiakos   53
3. PAOK    52

Olympiakos still faces 3 points deduction for the Olympiakos - AEK game.
PAOK and AEK still face point deductions for the game that never finished.
