In my opinion MVP for PAOK is Samatta, who came in and really tried to make a difference. He even scored a goal, but unfortunately it was called back for offside.

Weird that we have a chance in the return leg due to keeping this down to a 1-0. Gonna have to improve.

Lovren done for with this? My streams finally shat the bed so I gave up after the goal.

I don't think Lovren is done. He was actually decent in this game and I would prefer him over Michailidis.

As for the red he got, his foul was actually a yellow card, which would have been his second, but the ref did not give it probably because he felt guilty for not giving a clear foul on Samatta 10 seconds earlier (possible penalty). The red was given after a VAR review.

Apparently the newest President on the block and man of the people Illopoulos made his way into our dressing room to verbally abuse Lucescu. 

This stuff never gets old in Greece. Illopoulos has been acting like a clown all season though trying to win the AEK fans over and this is just another part of that. There is no other country in Europe where the owner of the club is as visible as they are in Greece, it is honestly cringeworthy.

Pali kala we escaped with only a 1:0 loss and still have a fighting chance.  I don't understand how we can play some games like this where we are so poor.  Ok lose, but put in a decent performance.  We seem to be especially allergic to playing well at AEK's new stadium.

As for the new AEK president, yeah only in Greece.  It's the people that run the game though that are at fault.  If they made it clear at the beginning of the season if this is done then your team will be fined a million euros and you will get a 10 point deduction, I reckon that would do the trick.

Just saw the highlights. The foul on Samatta was just outside the box so it would have been a free kick. Probably should have been given.

Generally it looks like it was a bad performance and we are fortunate to have gotten away with just a 1-0 defeat. Iliopoulos seems to be a clown. Saw a video with their fans attacking our players in the car park. I think that should be enough fuel for the 2nd leg.

Samatta scoring with a solid finish only to have it ruled offside is hilarious.

Say what you want about Samatta but he is being a real professional. We don't hear him complaining, being a bad teammate, going out  to the bouzoukia, etc..

Pretty sure he is on €1m or €1.5m a year - you would have to be insane to jeopardise that.

Until he starts scoring, he isn't really doing his job. Unless we accept that he has become a player that sits in just behind the striker and facilitates.

He can be a bad striker while also legitimately trying to do his job.
