Euro2004 Posted October 27, 2009 Share Posted October 27, 2009 Panserraikos were brilliant and deserved their win. I thought they were unlucky to go down to be honest. Today they pressed excellently and were very passionate. They simply out-fought Oly but also played some excellent football. The atmosphere was great (by both sets of fans) too making it a great little cup tie. Mitroglou showed all his qualities today (both positive and negative). He didn't get much service but scored to get Olympiakos back in the game. But he was offside too many times and missed an open goal at 2-1. At 3-1 he almost gave Olympiakos a lifeline with an amazing piece of skill to evade two defenders before blasting at the keeper. He really needs to work on his finishing and on his pace (with some explosive aerobic training). If he does that he'd be unstoppable because his power and close-ball control is class. U still had 7 or 8 regulars play and got blasted 3-1.. Either way.. you will win this game on paper cuz Serres played one foreign player too many... by mistake.... and u guys will appeal and win. Mitroglu, Ledesma, Maresca, Avraam, Mitroglu, Zairi, Stoltidis galettti Raul Bravo all played... at least ... 5 or 6 of them are regular startin 11.. With everyone healthy... Derby, Zewlakov and Mitroglu are on the bench.. Dudu Torosidis Nikopolidis and Melberg Mitroglu or Diogo are both starting room..U dont play with two strikers.. Either or... not both... If this was a regular championship game, OLY would have appealed the second the match was over! <_< We're talking about winning a title and going into the $$$$$ Champions League! That situation was no different. Actually, when Valner was taken out his replacement scored against Oly. They lost the game on the pitch, fair & square. Valner was not that player that made the difference (on the pitch). Btw, the rule about limiting foreigners applies only to Div. 2 teams. This is ridiculous!!! OLY could have had 11 foreigners that day. (as any SL team). It's unfair too. TKate said something interesting: Maybe only Greek players should play in the cup games!!!!! I'd even say, teams that have qualified for Euro play the season before should NOT be eligible to play. Give the chance to smaller teams to win a trophy. That will simply undermine the value of the trophy.There should be a a max of 5 foreigners that are eligible to play on cup games for every team regardless of the division.
