2.5 ouf ot what?

Also why is everyone wanting so much Sokratis to go to Premier League ? lately BundesLiga has gotten really high in the sport's fans eyes , especially last year There were many derbies. Moenchengladbach got back, Shalke played very well both CL and Bundesliga, Bayern, Wolfsburg went up out of nowhere. I am afraid that Sokratis might not be what a club in Premier League needs. He has made his career in Bundesliga , playing for 1 of the top teams  of both Germany and the World. Why leave for a Championship that most greeks end up being a flop? In conclusion, my opinion is that it is too risky for him to leave for EPL at the age of 29. If he doesnt get used to the EPL rhythm, or if he ends up having controversy with coach/management/teammates he can easily lose his psychology/fitness and he is literally irreplaceable for our NT right now. Besides he is really loved by the fans and many of them consider him their best defender. Even the coach probably liked him so much (talking about Klopp). It is not a common phenomena for a player that was brought to the club for Backup ends up being your first choise CB,even after both Hummels and Subotic were no longer injured. After last year there were many posts at international forums where Borussia fans would hope for a

Rockafeller, Sokratis turned 27 only two months ago - just entering his prime as a center back - and not 29, as you stated above.

With regard to him transferring to the premier league, Sokratis is an elite CB, and there is no reason why an elite CB cannot thrive in an elite league. He would do just fine.

Does he have to transfer to the EPL? No. BVB is a great club playing in a world class championship. Generally though, the prestige of playing in the historic Premier League, especially for one of the top clubs, is something that every footballer strives for.

Started today in their 4-0 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach. Getting tons of props on the twitters.

Saw the game. He just reads the opposing plays so well and attacks the passing alleys first and ends the danger. Sokrati is a quality defender.

He's at a top level club in one of the best leagues in Europe. Perfect set up for him in his club career right now.

I'm always curious to see if he will evry go to a topclub. Many topclubs in need of a good CB always linked with Hummels, Subotic and less with Sokratis but I hope someday he can go to a real big name. For now Dortmund is a very good team for him.

Subotic and Hummels have different strengths than Sokratis. Doesn`t mean they`re better footballers.

Hummels and Subotic are better offensively while Sokratis played multiple season as an attacking wingback and dd pretty good at that position? Now i've heard it all.

It's like saying Messi is a better player because he is a better defender then Ronaldo.

Really now i've heard it all.

Who cares what a CB does offensively? It comes down how quick they pass the ball to the midfielders. Nothing more. It's not science.

My bad on the age thing. Misscalculated. But still, you agreed with me, that, since he is at one of the world-top clubs, and is loved/worshiped there, and is also considered as one of the best defenders in Bundesliga, why should he leave? Im saying that because very few Greek footballers managed to establish in the EPL. Even Mitroglou was at his prime when he left for Fuhlam, but he was a total failure in there.

Why risk gettng benched? Why risk having our best player out of form and "out of the game"?

Yes, I do agree with you, but all I am saying, is that if there is a Greek player out there that has a shot of starring in the EPL, it`s Sokratis. If opportunity knocks, he cannot hold back because he is afraid of failure.

Just look at Kyrgiakos a few years back at Liverpool. He wasn`t the most well-rounded CB, but he was actually very good for them - downright dominant in a number of games.

BVB won it eventually versus Odd Grenland. Seems it was an astonishing match. The Norwegian team scored in the first minute, after 22 minutes they were down with three goals, but Dortmund scored three times in the second half, and won by one goal (3-4). Sokratis was in the first half (when the enemy goals occurred) on the bench, during the break he replaced Castro (the right back). After he came on, they didnt concede a single goal in the 2nd half and eventually won.

So after Sokratis came on replacing the right back they scored 4 goals?

I thought he wasnt that good offensively? ;)

They scored thrice after he was subbed in (the first BVB goal came in the first half), but yes, he played as a fullback and seems he was OK (enemy didnt score).

wasnt in dortmunds squad yesterday coz of his ankle injury he picked up thursday. he will be in their squad for the 2nd leg but im not sure if tuchel will start him or if he is gonna play a full match.

he shoulda played CB. He's one of the best CB's in the world atm. Top 30 at least.

Bayern would at least have scored one goal less with him in the back.

He also makes up for the other CB's lack of pace.

Haha another blowout, another example of our "world class" CBs not being responsible. The day they are, Paleologos will return.
