yesterday genk played the first leg of the europa league play offs against a team from montenegro and won 2-0. karelis started on the bench. his rival samatta was first choice again. genk scored the 1-0 via a penalty wich samatta won. the 2-0 fell in the 88th minute and was scored by samatta. karelis came on in the 76th minute.

played a very poor match today. lost almost all duels and didnt had a shot on goal. yes they played aa gent who are playing for the title but he was invisable and there was no chemistry between him and the rest of the team. he got subbed off in the 68th minute. genk lost the match with 1-0 in extra time. apart from that genk as a whole didnt really played good but they were more dangerous after he was subbed.

I really don't rate this player, I must be missing something but I wouldn't have him on the NT, I prefer Diamantakos and even Athanasiadis to him.

Diamantakos has been poor for NT...He and Klaus are both out and out strikers...

Although I don't rate Karelis highly the advantage in playing him is to play him behind or next to Mitro..

If Mitro was unavailable then  Diamantakos or Klaus would be the striker...

Curious to see how Skibbe fits in Mitro/Karelis/Bakasetas/Fortounis/Mandalos...even an in form Ninis?

Karalis really needs to work his ass off this season bag 12-16 goals and move to a bigger league improve his wages, improve his profile and start living up to the hype around him when he was a junior

I think he's at a sweet spot. I don't think he can get a significantly better club personally.

I think his potential would max out at like an ajax or mid-table german team

Up top though I'd rate it 1. Mitroglou 2. Gekas 3. Karelis 4. Klaus

Gekas is retired for NT tho but he's still our second best option imo.

Karelis has been one of our few bright spots recently, when he plays up the middle as a second striker. Works well with a CF. I think he's pretty unimpressive as a winger, however, and we should look elsewhere if LW is up for grabs.

Plus, that face.

^correct he is 2nd choice CF. last weekend he got a chance against anderlecht at home but failed after he got some good chances. the first choice CF wasnt available and genk lost 0-2 so this is exactly what he needed but he needs to score more in the league when he gets a chance.

he needs 20 goals this season and he will be sold off to a bigger league imo.

He'd have to score a lot more than that to be impressive. Here's last season's goal count. Perbet's reward was to move to Gent. Leye stayed at Zulte Waregem.

the greek aguero pedia :P

see what I mean by playing him cf? his positioning is key for the box not on the wings. (he gets easily closed out on the wings cause he's not THAT fast and doesn't have the best first touch) his strengths are his shooting + positioning
