I understand that getting a player on loan isn't ideal but if he is gonna sure up our back half (again I think we have other areas where we have more pressing issues) then I guess the logic is he comes across and helps us contend for the title and hopefully win it (i still have reservations about our title credentials) but never the less you are in a position to go deep into the race. So is it maybe a short sighted view? if we are going to sign a centre back it needs to be someone who is head and shoulders better than malezas/crespo. Maleza every time he is called upon is more than serviceable and Crespo is okay too. Don't see any point breaking the bank for a CB who could have question marks over him. In saying all that I've never seen the Ukrainian-Greek guy play, he's the one we are being linked to I believe. Not like we are in Europe, and our players are gonna get burned out, Poungouras as 4th choice. koulouris has a way to go before he enters the conversation for the ethniki. Should be more excited about the fact that Kareli scored his first goal today for Genk since his return from injury. He has been playing regularly over the last month and now that he's scored hopefully gets on a roll. Mitro and Karelis are far better then anything else we have at centre forward. I'd be surprised if Koulouris is starting for PAOK by the end of January

it has actually been a little funny, the guy scored 2 (and admittedly very nice) goals and all of a sudden they are digging up photos from him as a kid, telling us about his story and his mother is giving interviews. Can't help but laugh at the Greek media sometimes. Hopefully pelka keeps on this trajectory and keeps improving. We know his best is good enough, but he doesn't produce it often enough. Let's see how the next 6 months play out for him.

Times are getting tough for Mitro, hasn't started any of the last 3 games (came off the bench once) Has only scored twice in the league since coming across from Benfica. Looks like its gonna take an injury or a big performance from him off the bench to get his starting spot back
