Linked to Arsenal, although with Wenger on his way out not so sure it'll happen http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/England/Premiership/arsenal/to-rantevou-swkrath-vengker-kai-oi-tesseris-fores-poy-den-egine-kanonierhs.5177218.html

Absolutely, all the ingredients are there for this to be a disaster and a bloodbath. Don't know what the solution is, as I feel even with no fans there would still be trouble outside the stadium. Unfortunate that in Greece this is an issue, and what's gone on this season has added a truck load of fuel to an already dangerous fire.

Looks like Vieirinha will move to right back to cover the suspended Matos and Azevedo will get the start at left back. Would love to see Biseswar start instead of El Kaddouri but that won't happen. With that in mind most probable starting XI ---------------------------Paschalakis----- Vieirinha----------Varela--------Crespo-----------Azevedo --------------------Maurico------------Shakhov----- Djalma---------------El Kaddouri-------------Mak -----------------------Prijo--------------

Kostas Mitroglou ‒ (now playing for Aris)

2 goals for him overnight in a 5-1 drubbing of Lille. Played the full 90. More than likely he'll get the start midweek against Salzburg in the first leg of the semi -
It'll be another comfortable victory me thinks

Nice to be through to another final. Must say though all the going ons over the last 2 months off the field has really taken the steam out of this season. And the interest as well. Would be nice to win the Cup at least, but I fear further off field malakies if AEK overturns Larissa's 2-1 lead tomorrow, and joins us in the final.

Kostas Mitroglou ‒ (now playing for Aris)

Another successful night for a Greek player in Europe, Marseille over turned the first leg result and beat Leipzig 5-2 in France making it through to the semis of the Europa League. Mitro got a full 90 and although he didn't score apparently had a hand in a few of the goals, also was responsible for one being disallowed. Regardless great result for him and Marseille, would love to see him playing in the Europa league final but they still have a couple of games before that can happen. Other teams in the semis: Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Red bull Salzburg http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/Europe/EuropaLeague/marseille/o-mhtrogloy-ta-ekane-ola-mesa-sto-20-lepta.5158637.html -

I believe he is the first Greek since Kyriakos Papadopoulos in the 10-11 Champions league with Schalke, to reach the Semi finals -

Started last Thursday in their Europa league quarter final away to Leipzig. Marseille lost 1-0 but had quiet a few chances to grab an away goal, including Mitro who had a clever flick well saved by the keeper. 2nd leg this week, hopefully Marseille can overturn the deficit and make the semis. Last night he also got 30 mins off the bench as Marseille drew 0-0 with Montpellier -
Would be a huge signing if it some how came to be, but hard to see it happening.

Awful night for him and Dortmund, a 6-0 loss to Bayern. It was 5-0 at the half!!

Kyriakos Papadopoulos ‒ (Now Playing for Lamia)

Looks like he has had a falling out with Hamburger coach and the board has taken exception to his behaviour. I read when he was benched a couple of games a go, he came out post game and said he couldn't believe he and another player (don't recall his name) didn't play and Hamburger have no chance of winning games without them. Hard to see him make his way back in this season unless they change coach. Not looking good for them regardless, relegation is almost certain unless they can do a 180 on their form. He was destined to leave at the end of this season regardless -
beautifully worked free kick, straight off the training ground

Starting XI ------Paschalakis----- Matos----Maleza----Crespo----Vieriniha --------------Maurcio-----Canas------- Limnios-----Pelkas--------Djalma --------------------Prijo No Warda, Giannoulis or Xatziisais for them as per every other time we've played them this season
-
He does hold his spot in the starting XI, Watford v Bournemouth kicking off in just under 10 minutes

Good to see some football again, the last 3 weeks has really tested eveyones resolve and patience with Greek football. Hard to care about the result though, but hopefully we win our last 5 and end this shambles on a high note. Starting with a tricky test tonight.
-
Bad couple of weeks for Watford and himself against some of the bigger sides. 3-0 loss to Arsenal last week, 5-0 loss over night at Liverpool. Was at fault for Arsenal's 3rd last week, was a bit of a howler. Not hugely at fault for any of the 5 today, but there's one or 2 where you think a really really good keeper might make a save or do better. In saying that, he made 2-3 pretty solid stops as well. Interesting to see if he retains his spot after the international break.

Kolouris I doubt will ever be NT material Limnios has some talent and is young enough to improve his game, but as of right now shouldn't be getting a call up. Still has a long way to go

it's not about scoring or assisting for a player like Tziolis. His job is to break up play (something he's not great at) and when we win back possession, maintain the ball so our team can get up the pitch and we can build an attack. The last part is something he does because he takes minimal risks with the ball. Sideways, backwards he plays it safe. That's why coaches (not only skibbe) have favoured him to be a part of the ethniki for so many years. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he should be in the starting line up. In the squad? maybe for some depth. Again he's not awful but he's no world beater. He is what he is, does what is asked of him and keeps it moving.

Nice logical post Soprano, also love the sopranos what a show!! Now just to fire everyone up again, let's take a walk down memory lane, shall we? Όπλα, ντου και ξύλο

Well said @SydneyPAOK Greek football has been a mess for years, longer than I've been following it. You can go through every season and pinpoint clubs/individuals who have harmed Greek football. Unfortunately for us Savvidis adopted the motto if you can't beat them join them. And many people in Greece say, you can't win the league if you don't have the refs/EPO in your pocket. It's a sad reality of football in our country. What Savvidis did was immature and crossed the line, but it's stuff that's happened before. And will continue to happen. Nothing will change, not in our lifetimes anyway. Greece as a country needs to be knocked down and built again. I guess a few weeks ago Warda threatened himself with a gun?
