  1. this is by far one of the most frustrating games ive watched in a while, no will or urgency what so ever
  2. well then closing the deal on Zambrano becomes even more important, if that deal falls through, surely we would hang on to pouggoras for cover?
  3. my god vellios, off balance, impossible angle and on your left...... HT 0-0. Need to get fortouni and doni linking up more, they like by far our most likely to create anything. Not opposed to taking Tzioli for maybe taxi. Good and bad news Bosnia leads cyprus 0-2 at the half, so we just have to grab a goal and win this. Good news is Witsel got sent off and won't be playing against us come Sunday
  5. Well we never thought that signing of Vierihnia could actually be cover for right back and we can finally unleash Matos in his natural position, as a centre forward ;)
  6. I'd say that Mak will be the one to pinch hit as a striker when it comes to rotation. (kolouri is around as well) But going in to a season with only one starting quality striker is not ideal.
  7. can't help but smile seeing him in a PAOK shirt again Hopefully he's still got some gas in the tank and gives us some more amazing moments
  8. Apparently Vieirihna is at toumba signing his contract AND Zambrano is reportedly on a plane and on his way to thessaloniki to sign as well, all will be revealed in the next few hours I guess!
  9. can't say i believe it anymore when the trustworthy press says player x has been swept up in the nightlife. It's like they keep the same article every year and just insert a different player's name
  10. the 3 behind vellios will create chances, its whether he'll be able to finish them. He'll be up against Klavan the Liverpool centre back who has had over 4 seasons in the Bundesliga, plus played 20 odd league games for the reds last season. No easy opponent for someone who isn't making the bench in the championship (perhaps unfairly, i must say)
  11. getting rid of Deligiannidis would be a mistake, we then become extremely thin at full back with Leovac and an injury prone Levque on the left and Matos and an what appears to be an out of favour Konstantindis on the right. Loaning Kitsiou was a mistake, it was done by the old regime though who knows what they were thinking, maybe they wanted to bring in someone else as cover. This just another issue with sacking a coach during pre-season he's already started altering the squad to what his style/system needs.
  12. I don't know about permanently, can't really say I can split my team your team and AEK as to who is the next best.
  13. Everything I'm reading is saying no toro v Estonia but it hasn't mentioned if he'll be fit for the Belgium match. I did read that he hasn't (as of yet at least) travelled to Greece. So I'd assume he is out for our 2nd match as well. Donis needs to get the start over Vellio/Diamantako, my only issue is I don't know how much of a pure CF he is, I'm pretty sure he's lead the line at club level so it shouldn't be too unreasonable to ask him to do the same v Estonia
  14. never seen him play, he only had one season at Zenit so not sure what to make of that, hopefully he and El Kaddouri can give us a much needed lift. Wouldn't mind a centre back before the window closes, doesn't have to be starting quality, just a solid back up.
  15. agree 100% with you bananas, of course we are in better shape these days and for that I am thankful to Savvidis. But that doesn't excuse the fact at how poorly we are run, and now more than ever there is no excuse for it because we are financially stable and in a strong position. As I said earlier Ivan stays no doubt about that, but he needs to leave the people that he puts in place to run the football department actually run it. Our last 2 Td's have bought in good players and now it seems we are about to see the back of Michel. We will never contend as long as this merry-go-round continues that is a fact
  16. Donis not included in Stuttgart's matchday squad due to a "sprained ankle" hoping its nothing serious, lord knows we are short on attacking options for this game.
  17. ^^ word is savvidis is considering no more signings, as a result of us not qualifying for the group stage. I doubt that's true but nothing surprises me anymore
  18. its simple savvidi stays, but he let's the people who he employs to make football decisions make those decisions. Without interference from him, or his boneheaded son who seems pre-occupied with endearing himself to gate 4 ultras. If the technical director and co have a poor 2 years, fine turn them over but you must trust these people to make the calls on coaches/players
  19. From what I understand it's done for good, but this is Greece going into the opening matchday we didn't know if playoffs were on or off. So you honestly can't know what the superleague committee and nova (who has a lot of power) will decide for beyond this season
  20. Embarrassing performance and embarrassing result. I honestly blame off-field staff for this. you can't change a coach during a pre-season and expect results. the players came into this game with a xanthi-esque attitude and we were made to pay by a very very average team. It's such a shame that this exact team that did so well last season and looked like it was set for big things, yet looked this poor tonight. Don't know what else to say that was just plain awful and they should all be embarrassed everyone from players to coaches to technical directors etc.. they are all to blame for what has happened tonight
  21. matos and prijovic have played with fire a few times given they've already been booked
  22. if we get knocked out, I wonder if they'll sack lucescu, nothing surprises me anymore
  23. but if enrique doesn't get booked then did he even play??
