  1. After the weekend we are a decent chance to be seeded in the second qualifying round of the Champions league and thus avoid Basel and Ajax. We just need Basaksehir to hold onto to 2nd place in the Turkey with one game to go. Although after a quick look at the Uefa coefficient it seems Galatasary and Fenerbache are both ranked below us. So even if they end up 2nd we'd still be seeded. Besiktas are the ones who would bump us out of the seeded group. In the Czech league as long as Plzen don't implode and blow their 7 point lead with 2 games to play (2nd has a game in hand so still mathematically possible) and Sparta Prague don't pull a miracle off and end up second (whom they are currently 4 points behind having played a game more) then there shouldn't be any worry of any team from the Czech Republic knocking us out of the seeded teams.
  2. 1000% Deserved victory today, by far the better team Great to win back to back and this one without any controversy around the goals makes it sweeter. This is how titles should be decided on the pitch without refs/other external forces playing a role. Mpravo re paokara, to axiszame
  3. Could've been a couple of goals up. Very wasteful. We've played well though, not to much change yet. Shakhov for Canas maybe he keeps giving the ball away cheaply The yellows are indeed worrying dutch eagle
  4. Bravo Prijo ?Nice for him to end up as the top scorer. Hopefully he hangs around a while longer
  5. another start for him tonight at home against Burnley. Kick off in about 10 mins
  6. something to be said for being too rusty and having no rhythm. If he wasn't to play tonight that would be what 3 weeks without a game? I'm not a fan of that.
  7. ^^ you wouldn't start Djalma blackhawk? or you saving him for the cup final
  8. Great for the kid! He's ranking has gone up to 44 as a result of his run to the final in Barcelona. Hopefully he can continue on this upward trajectory and end the year in the top 50 or perhaps even better

  10. jvc ain't wrong guys, champion of Greece don't mean much these days, imagine how awful you must be to be sitting 8th, 9th or even 10th.......
  11. Linked to Arsenal, although with Wenger on his way out not so sure it'll happen http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/England/Premiership/arsenal/to-rantevou-swkrath-vengker-kai-oi-tesseris-fores-poy-den-egine-kanonierhs.5177218.html
  12. Absolutely, all the ingredients are there for this to be a disaster and a bloodbath. Don't know what the solution is, as I feel even with no fans there would still be trouble outside the stadium. Unfortunate that in Greece this is an issue, and what's gone on this season has added a truck load of fuel to an already dangerous fire.
  13. Looks like Vieirinha will move to right back to cover the suspended Matos and Azevedo will get the start at left back. Would love to see Biseswar start instead of El Kaddouri but that won't happen. With that in mind most probable starting XI ---------------------------Paschalakis----- Vieirinha----------Varela--------Crespo-----------Azevedo --------------------Maurico------------Shakhov----- Djalma---------------El Kaddouri-------------Mak -----------------------Prijo--------------
  14. Finally got some minutes for the first time in nearly 3 months as he came off the bench in the 67th min and grabbed an assist in stoppage time as Stuttgart beat Weder 2-0. Hopefully he can get a solid runs of games if it is off the bench in the remaining few weeks of the season.
  15. 2 goals for him overnight in a 5-1 drubbing of Lille. Played the full 90. More than likely he'll get the start midweek against Salzburg in the first leg of the semi
  16. It'll be another comfortable victory me thinks
  17. Nice to be through to another final. Must say though all the going ons over the last 2 months off the field has really taken the steam out of this season. And the interest as well. Would be nice to win the Cup at least, but I fear further off field malakies if AEK overturns Larissa's 2-1 lead tomorrow, and joins us in the final.
  18. Another successful night for a Greek player in Europe, Marseille over turned the first leg result and beat Leipzig 5-2 in France making it through to the semis of the Europa League. Mitro got a full 90 and although he didn't score apparently had a hand in a few of the goals, also was responsible for one being disallowed. Regardless great result for him and Marseille, would love to see him playing in the Europa league final but they still have a couple of games before that can happen. Other teams in the semis: Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Red bull Salzburg http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/Europe/EuropaLeague/marseille/o-mhtrogloy-ta-ekane-ola-mesa-sto-20-lepta.5158637.html
  19. I believe he is the first Greek since Kyriakos Papadopoulos in the 10-11 Champions league with Schalke, to reach the Semi finals
  20. Started last Thursday in their Europa league quarter final away to Leipzig. Marseille lost 1-0 but had quiet a few chances to grab an away goal, including Mitro who had a clever flick well saved by the keeper. 2nd leg this week, hopefully Marseille can overturn the deficit and make the semis. Last night he also got 30 mins off the bench as Marseille drew 0-0 with Montpellier
  21. Since Stuttgart changed manager Donis has only played once and hasn't played even off the bench in 2 months http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/Germany/Bundesliga/stuttgart/dyo-mhnes-xwris-agwna-o-dwnhs.5153964.html
  22. Would be a huge signing if it some how came to be, but hard to see it happening.
  23. Awful night for him and Dortmund, a 6-0 loss to Bayern. It was 5-0 at the half!!
  24. Looks like he has had a falling out with Hamburger coach and the board has taken exception to his behaviour. I read when he was benched a couple of games a go, he came out post game and said he couldn't believe he and another player (don't recall his name) didn't play and Hamburger have no chance of winning games without them. Hard to see him make his way back in this season unless they change coach. Not looking good for them regardless, relegation is almost certain unless they can do a 180 on their form. He was destined to leave at the end of this season regardless
